https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyZw_oqk7Q8 Newest, and longest, trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda. I thought that it looked really cool. Very much looking forward to it, but its also third in line for me after FF15 and Horizon: Zero Dawn, so I figure to have awesome games lined up from the end of this month into the middle of the summer
i am a huge ME fan. And nothing they've shown about this new one so far makes me think they're doing right by it. something just feels off.
I wouldn't be shocked if it were to be delayed. That tends to be the norm lately. They've been so vague with it though, that I suppose that it could come out mid June and still technically be Spring.
It is delayed. It was supposed to be a Q1 release in March. The end of the trailer states that it's coming in Q2.
Oh, I must have missed that part. I thought it still said "Spring 2017". Very few big games get released in the middle of the summer though. I'd have to think they'd try to get it out no later than June.
Is anyone actually getting the little NES box that comes with 30 classic games? I can't bring myself to spend $60 on the thing, even if I had the time to play the games included. It made me think back to the late 90s, when I had my first PC, a college broadband connection, and the internet was more Wild West than it is today. I had NES and SNES emulators, and access to basically hundreds of titles from those systems for free at my whim, and played them a lot for a few years. And that was just a few years after the SNES had been my primary console, too. It would be like having access to the entire PS3 library today. Someone put together this cool wish list for a SNES version though, and I admit that it overflowed me with nostalgia. These were the games that I spent my teen years playing, and many of the ones they added here are among my favorites of all time. I think that I had 25 of the 30 on the list. http://gizmodo.com/these-are-the-30-games-nintendo-should-include-on-a-tin-1788857944
The NES Classic is sold out, so apparently someone's buying it. Personally, I'd just emulate, or use the Nintendo eShop, but whatever. I'm leaning towards doubtful on an SNES/SFC Classic. The SNES hasn't been the beneficiary of hipster retro in the way 8-bit in general has.
Yea, I'd emulate way before buying that thing. The controllers are absolutely a deal breaker for me (if I had enough interest to buy it in the first place), and not talking about just the comfort (since wii classic controller works).
https://gamerant.com/mass-effect-andromeda-destiny-overwatch/ I haven't personally played any of these "fast paced shooters" that they talk about, but it has me worried. I really enjoy the slower, cover based shooting that Mass Effect 2 & 3 offered. Sometimes that was too fast for me, even. If the game has been sped up to be more quick-paced action, I'm likely going to suck at it.
That Mass Effect footage they showed last night was killer. It's about time. I was worried they were screwing that game up.
PSX is today. Looks like Marvel vs Capcom 4 will be announced. Wouldn't be surprised if Uncharted 4 single player DLC is revealed, too. Among other minor stuff.
I have no interest in The Last of Us, but Naughty Dog did such an amazing job with the Uncharted series, that I can't wait to see what they work on next once they have it out of the way and can move on to something else. Horizon: Zero Dawn is much more my speed, and I'm really excited about all of the info that Sony put out about it recently as well. I should be able to jump right from FFXV to that one when it comes out in Feb. https://gamerant.com/horizon-zero-dawn-playstation-experience-trailer-016/
http://gamingbolt.com/mass-effect-a...veral-activities-cerberus-wont-return-insider Some more news on Mass Effect: Andromeda
With Mass Effect Andromeda coming up, PC Gamer did a ranking of the companions from the first three games, from 1-20. http://www.pcgamer.com/the-mass-effect-companions-ranked-from-worst-to-best/ I agree in spots, and disagree in others. I never had a chance to play the first one. By the time it was available on the PS3, I'd about moved onto the PS4, so some of the characters are less known to me. But I played ME2 2.5 times (quitting the second time through because I hated my character), and then played ME3 twice as well. My personal top list: 1. Tali - who I romanced in my personal canon second playthrough of ME2 2. Liara 3. Miranda 4. Garrus 5. Mordin #20 is easily Jack, who I could not stand in any way. Here's hoping the new games pick up where the originals left off with great characters to befriend (and more!).
1. Garrus 2. Wrex 3. Thane 4. Mordin 5. Tali No way Jack can be last IMO. More forgettable people than her.
More forgettable, perhaps. But i actively hated her, lol. I thought that Thane was really boring, personally. His mission frustrated me to death, also.
https://www.finder.com.au/2017-exclusives-comparison-ps4-xbox-one-switch What looks to be a pretty comprehensive list of known console exclusives for the PS4, XBOX1, and Switch over the next year plus. Even as a Sony guy, most of the names on that list are unknown to me, and many of them are likely small, digital only games. But the FF games are treasure, and I'm looking forward to Horizon: Zero Dawn. MS used to have some exclusives that intrigued me, but its been a while since that was the case.
ME: Andromeda now has a March 21st release date. That could be pushed back again, of course, but its in line with what had been speculated.
If you ever play Mass Effect 1 for Xbox, I am in the credits as a tester. So I played the game, just not all the way through. Jack was one of my favorite companions. I guess I just like loud mouth women in games.
Thats awesome, man! I never played ME1 due to being a Sony guy. Once it was available on the PS3 at a discounted price, I'd already moved onto the PS4. I know that a lot of people like Jack. Even if I could never understand that myself, its good that Bioware creates so many different, deep characters that appeal to a variety of gamers. There are characters that I like in both the ME and DA series that many people seem to not.
time to spin off into a new E3 2017 thread! That being said I'll be at PAX South at the end of the month if anyone is going and want to drink beers. or whiskeys.
I never understood being a "sony" or "microsoft" person once I got enough money to be able to afford both. I had both Xbox and Playstation 2, Xbox 360 and PS3, and right now I only have the XBone, however, once OLED are more affordable to me I am going to get the latest version of the PS4, I also might get the latest version of the XBone.
There was a time when there were s few MS games id have liked to have played but didnt/couldnt, but its been a long time. I also absolutely hated the huge, akward Xbox controller when id try and use it at friends' places, so i never really had much incentive. These days, everything i want is pretty much either multi platform or sony exclusive anyways. Their stuff is usually my style. Plus, the dualshock is second nature to me after 20 years.
I'm too lazy. For real though, we'll do an E3 2017 thread as we start leading up to that particular event. It's June 13-15 this year, so probably June 10-ish.
My list are usually very different than most. 1 Legion 2 Zaeed Massani 3 Ashley 4 EDI 5 Garrus Last has to be Jacob...complete yawn.
I liked Legion a lot. Good character. EDI too, and just about everyone likes Garrus. Didn't care for Zaeed. I couldn't figure out how to unlock him the first time I played ME2, even though he was free, lol. Didn't know Ashley much, from 2 & 3. She seemed really hardcore and negative.
https://gamerant.com/mass-effect-andromeda-tempest-nomad-briefing-trailer-112/ A good article for ME:A, including a video for the game's ship, the Tempest, and the rover, called the Nomad.
Going to the title of the thread, if not the content, I saw two different places with headlines that this will be the first time ever that fans will be allowed into E3. However, thats just plain wrong. They allowed the general public into the event for a long time, only to change that about a decade ago.
http://n4g.com/news/2016225/new-trailer-released-for-open-world-jrpg-edge-of-eternity A few years ago, one of you guys turned me onto a RPG game that was a kickstarter at the time called Edge of Eternity. (I tried to find the thread but couldn't). I've been following them since then on their site and via social media and its been interesting to watch. They just released a trailer, and the game might come out later this year or early next. Its an independent title, not a AAA game, but I'm still interested. The guys making it clearly care about the product.
http://www.dualshockers.com/2017/03/01/ps4-xbox-one-pc-aven-colony-new-trailer/ Interesting new game called Aven Colony, which looks to be a sci-fi strategy game, incorporating elements from games like Sim City and Civilization, among others. I'm especially interested, since the Sony systems have very rarely ever had this type of game before.
