I started this thread to say Moore was a solid quarterback that would have starting potential in other cities. Somehow the Tannehill die-hard crowd twisted that into an insult though and they insisted that I was wrong.

Yet after 4 TD passses, zero sacks, perfect placement on the few short balls thrown and nice anticipation/handling of blitz packages, I'll go ahead and say it- Moore played a great game and did several things that Tannehill still can't. And that's on a short week...after sitting for five years and missing Monday for the birth of his child. So feel free to apologize whenever you get around to it.

I have to say, Gase deserves the most credit for putting Matt in at the right time (aka when he had no other choice). Bravo.

What things did Matt do tonight that Ryan can't? You said several. I'd like a list, please.

Not a single person will apologize. nothing to apologize for. We all hoped he would do good and were ambitious about it, just not over the top like you are. He had an amazing game against a **** team who checked out. hope he keeps it rollin. Amazing game for Gase as well and the defense also played good, aside for the chunk runs.

I think we are all thrilled with the way Matt Moore played. We needed this win desperately and he gave it too us. No one is apologizing to anyone. There is no need to start stating that Moore did things that Tannehill still cant. That list goes the other way also. In the previous 8 wins Ryan did things that Moore could never do. Why the need to point any of that out? Lets just enjoy the win and the ride
Moore has to still shake off some of the rust and this was a great start. I think my biggest concern from him in a game in which he made a ton of plays, was the chaos at times as the play clock ran down on too many plays. I think that will improve with more snaps. Also the difference in the strength of his throws and lack of tight spirals is a vast difference than what we have seen from Ryan....On the Buffalo!

Im just hoping that with more snaps it improves. He seemed out of sync a little with the checks at the line and getting it all done within the playclock. He worried me a little bit there but you have to love the outcome

The biggest concern is the lack of eye discipline

The corner route to stills the coverage played provided the qb has his head in tbe center of the field in his drop should mean no safety has a play there...instead the safety almost fair catches it cause he stares it down in his drop even

    Luckily they dropped it

He threw another zone 10 yard hook route to landry between 3 defenders he literally stared at it from the time he took his drop steps even

These kind of things if teams get you behind the sticks they will expose

I didnt see him hold a safety or lb level in his drop one time on any traditional drop

Dvp was singled up all game...we should have murdered that matchup...it was there literally all game long

This is exactly why Miami kept moore for so long. Not the best QB in the world, but by far, imo, the best back up in the league. He came up huge tonight, and even last week when it mattered

Was surprised he didn't look to Parker more but then again he only had 18 throws. This defense is gonna struggle mightily if the turnovers dry up as they're not stopping anyone run or pass.

That game was a joy to watch..I was thrilled MM was able to do what he did, particularly when every time he launched a deep pass, I could hear it quacking from here. The INT didn't even bother me, 'cuz we all knew it was coming...no biggy. But the dude has grit and gumption, no doubt about it, and we came away with a great win against a very hated opponent/rival, that came out ready to kill our playoff chances (they didn't quit until it was 34-10). Our targets made great adjustments/plays as well. If MM could infuse a little of that killer instinct into RT, you'd have an elite QB.

It was funny Omar used the Landry TD to show why he was right against RT and that MM is better...considering that play was ALL LANDRY...found that pretty comical. How many times has RT hit Landry on that same play? Ya...

It shouldn't be a who's better than who...they're not the same guy, nor do they have the same play style, but we got the win and that's what matters!!! Gase called a great game, except one or two plays, IMHO. He and MM were on the same page, and it was fun to watch.

Side note...we gotta find a way to keep Kenny.

Four plays that stick out for me...bomb to Kenny...Sims to the 1...Aikens TD and the Malachi Crunch disguised as Suh/Wake. Thank you Dolphins!

Bro, OP, be real. There were more wounded ducks up there than on Duck Dynasty. He got away will several bad throws. And Landry's TD was a 5 yard dump off. Let's not go crazy. That INT was ugly. If the Jets had bothered to show up there would have been at least 2 others. I'm glad he won, but to suggest anything other than that is crazy talk.

Try to relax with the bs. Did you not see the all important sentence "IF MOORE PLAYS LIKE THIS FOR ALL 3 GAMES"??

So obviously if Matt puts up 30+ points 4 Tds every game and clean sweeps our division rivals on the way to the playoffs? Hell no he wouldn't be benched for Ryan to come back off an injury.

Read what he said and let it digest what he meant before you turn this thread into hot garbage by rallying people who just read your replies and not understand the context of what he said.

I'm not sure about that. Moore's career interception rate prior to the game was 3.6%. Last night it was 5.5%. He threw more than his typical number of interceptions per pass attempt, but was very effective nonetheless.

The issue here is that no one can make a conclusion about Tannehill vs. Moore on the basis of one game. No one can make a conclusion that the team is better with Moore, nor can he make a conclusion that the team is better with Tannehill.

If Moore had played terribly, the latter of those conclusions would've been easier to make. But that didn't happen, and so the issue is inconclusive.

That was the sort of controversy I was speaking of earlier. If you have a guy who just got you into the playoffs with a run of three wins, there is bound to be at least somewhat of a controversy when the issue arises of whether to continue to start him in the playoffs, or turn the team over to a QB who's coming off an injury and who struggled in the past during a similar December playoff run.

Ofcourse not, Ryan will not be 100% so that makes it an easy decision. Ryan is a better QB than Matt Moore, but a 70% Ryan Tannehill? Let him get healthy for 2017.

This is all assuming Moore really goes 3-0 and really looks like he did last night. Both are not likely to happen, but if it does? You wont see Ryan until next season.

so you are using fancy words to say Tannehill locked on his receiver and got picked off, yet you are still trying to make it sound as if that is a good thing.

He played like I thought he would, basically carried the offense sine the running game was void and the OL did not pass black so well.

The defense was lights out, but they were able to pin their ears back once Moore gave the team the lead. I liked how he passed to all receivers and got all involved. He missed on the INT to parker or else all WR coulda had long TD's

Well. for one thing and most importantly. It just one game. I would think we need alot more to see before we come close to talking about that. You are ready to state that just after one game? against this Jet team? Again..Im thrilled that he played well and we won. Why try to make "Moore" of it Let concentrate on our next game..Buffalo

not at all, but you know the team is pumped even more now. They all seem to love Moore, and they just clobbered the Jets. I know some are saying the Jets are weak blah blah blah, but so were the Browns, Rams, Jets, 49ers we barely beat.

You sure see things your own way, huh? I saw wounded ducks all over the field that a good team would have picked at least 4 times. I haven't cringed like that when a QB dropped back since Fiedler. But whatever turns you on.

All four of the TD passes were very crisp and decisive. You had the bomb to Stills, and three darts to Landry and Sims. There was also the very good touch pass to Gray near the goal line, and the nice downfield throw to Parker over the middle.

The guy only threw 18 passes. Those six above were excellent. What percentage of the other 12 were wounded ducks, and is that any different from the norm in the NFL?

I totally agree with this. Unless you have a 100% Ryan Tannehill it would be careless and dangerous to run him out there and risk getting hurt more. If both are 100% its not even a conversation. We need Ryan totally healthy for next year. It looks like we have to trust in Matt Moore the rest of the way and I believe most of us are behind him and most importantly this team

    The 4 wounded duck TD's?

break down those wounded duck throws please. Id like to see your take on them.

The one to Stills for a TD thrown where only Stills could get it for a TD?

Feel free to cringe while I am enjoying the TD's/

Petty was awful...zone blitz from one side drop the de wake from the other which miamis tape is littered with throws it right to him

3 step ball must come out holds it sacked by the strong safety quddus...slanted down protection leaving cam wake in a wide 9 unblocked and unaccounted for qb must account for him by getting the ball out never sees wake hit from the backside sack forced fumble in fg range turnover

Underthrows a deep ball to a open wr lippett picks it...and on and on

Sure would like to have the luxury of playing that every week

Vj with good usage situationally of db blitzes in this one

Yes Petty played awfully, but the margin of victory (21 points) was fueled mainly by the combination of Petty's poor play and Moore's excellent play. If Moore would've played like an average QB, we would've had yet another nail-biter.

I think its more about gase limiting the exposure thus the number of passes

Plus we got away from the flats stuff which is smart cause he was late in the first quarter every time he threw one

It was called lets play the scoreboard and limit the exposure...gase is the goods...petty was a big reason why you were able to end up with just 18 throws and off of good looks...its not like we were having success running the ball yet the scoreboard let us stick with it and wait for that qb to make massive mistakes

And he made more than i could count
