He does throw off his back foot a bit but that's due to the poor line play for the most part. Ken O Brien disease
Ryan will not win many foot races...sort of reminds me of Drew Bledsoe mobility wise... It is strange, Ryan looks like he is trying to throw the ball over someone in the middle of the line who isn't there...???
The problem you have with Ryan is the same one you had with Cutler in Vandy and Beck on Miami. You have to project them with talent around them because they all played with atrocious talent around them
Actually he moves around the pocket alot better than what he's shown in this game. i'm not sure why but he looks like he's having trouble with the footing for some reason. He's had something like 4 or five partial stumbles so far
Not neccessarily Adam P, Ryan can be technically proficient on a mediocre offense, look off the safeties, plant his feet and stand in the pocket, maybe audible a bit etc. Cutler was obvious in College he had an electric arm, he could make all the throws with a tight spiral on them even when Vandy was a middle of the pack team.
He's great with his presnap reads. Almost always knows where to go. Will use all options on pass plays when the first and 2nd are covered. He hjas no protection this year so he does tensd to throw off the back foot more than you would like but that's correctable. He's not gunshy. He does have problems with reading the underneath coverage sometimes. The underneath safety will give him problems but once again a good QB coach could get that out of his syatem in one year He doesnt have Cutler's arm. He has more of a Brady arm, just good enough
they have to give him that extra second due to the pass rush in obvioyus pass situations. At some point I think they abandon the run game
The last two passes he planted his feet and threw, he looked pretty sharp. Announcers mentioned that BC doesn't keep backs in to block so Ryan has to unload without setting his feet or get sacked.
Yeah when he plants he gets some nice throws. He does go through periods this year where he throws off the back foot a little more tha you would like. Sometimes in anticipation of a pass rush that doesnt happen. I think if you put him infront of a line that he can trust that will disappear. One thing about him though is I love how he buys space in the pocket
Just curious is this the first time you folks have seen Matt Ryan play? The guy can make all the throws. He is pretty ding dang good!
Been watching him all year. I'm one of those annoying draft Ryan posters that come up every now and then
I think Adam P has a 5% stake in Ryan's rookie contract... Times I've watched Ryan he has fumbled and thrown too many picks...
Yeah. I think he hurt himself a little this year draftwise. He moved from the right to the left and he simply hasnt played as well
LOL. He got a little full of himself on that short pass over the middle following that play. tried the same move. LOL.
Dejuan Tribble seems to be flat out stoning Devin Thomas. Thomas isnt doing much this game other than the opening kickoff
I like what I see out of Ryan, but you don't use an overall # 1 pick on a QB...he might be worth trading down for if we can get some extra picks.
The trouble with Tribble is he supposedly had a bad knee, he seems to playing fine, I sort of hope Dorsey's knee will let him play 100% against OSU...
Ton of prospects in that game. I thought Dorsey's knee was feeling better with the rest. Would definitely want to see his best effort in that game. Between him and Gholston I doubt I'll pay one second of attention to the offenses
Honestly I dont think any of the prospect with the exception of Mcfadden possibly are worth 60 million so in my book you're overdrafting whoever you pick. i think if you can trade down you do it but the only teams that will do that are going to be interested in McFadden, Ryan or Brohm. i dont think anyones going to move up to draft Dorsey LOL. There is that underneath coverage he has problems with
You called the Int Adamprez2003, underneath coverage got Matt Ryan picked off... I would love to see Ryan throw a deep out or an out and up just to see the arm strength on display. BC with the Int...wacky...Silva is playing a good game for BC..
Ryan looked like Jay Fiedler on that pick. I like that Silva guy for BC....he has great hands and instincts....might be worth a 6th rounder?
He runs with a limp Roman, not sure what that is about, but he is a semi walk on who made All American so he is doing something "right". Silva reminds me of P Tillman a bit.
I would spend a 6th or 7th if just for the hair. Between him and Satele we could get the 70s hair thing going again. we need help on special teams and he wopuld probably be good on those
Tillman would hit though. Who was that other safety from the Cardinals who used to knock himself out with his hits. I think he was from Arizona State or ASrizona
