Until Rogue One, Empire was the darkest of the movies. New Hope was pretty boring.

There are two other acts. One that can be completely eliminated.

Just saw Rogue One and it was excellent. Not just so well made, but felt like a Star Wars movie, from start to finish. It fits into the series so well. Its terrific that there are people in control of the property that seem to truly care about it and do what's best. I loved it.

"Southpaw" -- Good movie. Predictable but I enjoyed it.

Watched The Accountant, really enjoyed it. Have become a big Ben Affleck fan, to the point his movies ( acting, directing, producing ) are must views.

Not a "great" movie but very good and worth watching.

In addition to going to the movies to see Rogue One, I got a ton of new movies for our home last week that I'm digging into.

Star Trek: Beyond was fun. Certainly a step down from the original in this new reboot series, but it was fun and fast paced. I think that they did a poor job setting up the motivations for a number of the characters though. It felt more like a good double episode of a TV series than a great feature film.

Kubo and the Two Strings is a really good stop motion film. Its from the same studio (LAIKA) that did Coraline and The Box Trolls, but I think that it was a big step up from those, both in production quality and story. Although PG, I wouldn't really call it a family movie, per se. My five year old was scared by a few spots, and its a pretty dark movie overall. Really a good watch, though.

I'm looking forward to watching Jason Bourne, Spectre, and The Magnificent Seven (2016) over the next few weeks.

Watched Me Before You last night. It's a good movie to watch with your partner, nothing genre defining but sweet and the visual presentation is a plus. Female lead is in a different role than most of us are used to seeing her in :)

have to say, even though I live in Boston, I don't have a strong desire to watch Patriots Day. Maybe when it comes out on pay per view.

I saw Split and liked it quite a bit. McAvoy killed it and the movie had a decent amount of twist and turns to it. If you enjoyed MNS early movies I'd highly recommend it.

John Wick: Chapter 2. Quite entertaining for a sequel. If you liked the first one, I can't imagine you wouldn't like the sequel.

Some really good build up without being noticeably slow or boring. The payoff was a bit underwhelming though. 7.5/10

theory starts off slow. but the 2nd part is pretty interesting. Finn being a son or descendant of Mace Windu would certainly make his character a lot more interesting than just a chicken S**t stormtrooper.

Hacksaw Ridge - good movie...worth watching. Bit of light humour to begin with then it gets serious. It's interesting from start to finish. Good story with good acting.

It is not dark so Fin D is going to hate it.

I love that Lego Batman made 56m and is the #1 movie its opening weekend. The Lego Movie is soooo good, but even saying that, I wasn't sure how this one would do. I'm glad it holds up.

    The Fly (1958)

I haven't see the remake so I decided to watch this one first. It didn't disappoint. The story is intriguing and I thought it looked incredible in HD.

    John Wick: Chapter two.

Not as good as the first movie as far as story goes. There was a lot of killing, but the story and backstories were very week.

    Get Out

This movie is like an excellent episode of the Twilight Zone. I love this movie. As a minority, it does a great job of capturing that weird feeling that exists when you are the only one surrounded by nothing but white people. Especially old white people.

My wife and I went to see Get Out on Saturday. It was a great movie. I was a little sceptical at first when I heard Peele was involved (thought it might be corny), but it was a really good movie. Great surprise twists at the end.

A type of movie you could watch again to see if you can pick up on some of those things revealed the second time watching it.

    Agreed.
I loved it. Patrick Stewarts best performance! Shows that all superhero movies don't need to be about saving the world.

I absolutely loved the scene at the end when Logan started coming to the rescue, then he and X-23 started fighting together. It was so cute and brutal. I got to say in my mind, "Awww, they are brutally killing together, how adorable."

Moonlight. It's a work of art, a deep dive in to the human psyche. Some parts are difficult to watch.. I consider it an American masterpiece, so much more than what you may think it is- It isn't about being black, or gay, or poor... It's about the human experience that shapes us in to who we are today.

I saw Logan on Saturday. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't find it quite as amazing as many of the reviews had led me to believe. It was certainly the best Wolverine movie, but that wouldn't be saying much I don't think.

I saw Logan with my wife last week. Thought it was really good. I liked how they wrapped up the movie and the Wolverine character. Patrick Stewart did a great job and his character wasn't played the same as the X-men movies.
