Interesting Matchup this week and I'm torn on how the Dolphins should approach it. I would like to see us win and secure the #5 seed and face Houston instead of traveling to Pittsburgh. I want us to come out and play as if this was the Superbowl and get that win but doing so puts our players at risk and gives New England a possible film for a rematch of us giving them everything we got to gameplan against. I don't think we win this game with a conservative gameplan. I also don't want Ajayi playing much he needs to rest for the workload. Albert could use a rest also. So do we play some key younger guys on defense to get them some reps in case we need it in the playoffs or risk our makeshift defense / offense in attempting to get the #5 seed? What do you all think we should be doing?
#5 seed is not going to happen, even if we beat the pats KC is not going to lose to San Diego. I would rather we rest the starters and have them fresh for the Pittsburgh game, at this point in the season a week off can really rejuvenate players. Look at Jason Jones he got two weeks off for the suspension and came back balling better than before. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
I think we have to rest Ajayi and other guys that are hurt enough to where their injury will make them less than 100% for the playoff game. Play all the healthy guys vs New England. It's been shown that going out there without the edge to compete like you're a starving man fighting for bread will get you killed and probably hurt. Mentally, we have to play this game like it's no less important than the previous weeks, but in practical terms, we need to rest injured guys to give ourselves the best chance to beat Pittsburgh.
I think we need to give drake and Williams a lot more touches I would like to rest ajayi, but I think we need to play the defense as we need to win, ultimately if we have hopes to make it to the ship it all goes through new England so we need to figure a way to stop them. I don't see the chiefs losing to sd since they lost to the browns but I have high hopes.
We should not show all of our cards against new england and risk injuring more starters in a mostly meaningless game. Kc is not going to los to san diego so wether we win or not and we will have to play the pats again in the playoffs if we beat pit so its better to hold our cards for later. We have to take the long term view in terms of playoffs and superbowl. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
Play to win. Play to destroy. Never let up. New England will not. They ran the ****ty Jets into the dirt.
10 carries for Drake 15 carries Williams. Throw to TEs Sims and Gray more they are likely to be open all the time with 3 threats on the field like Landry, Parker, Stills. With the defense. We can't cover for beans, so I'd be safety and corner blitzing Brady practically all game. Take the risk that he beats us long for an extra blitzer all day. Can't let players like Tom Survey the field. Also, I always say you need to double cover Edleman, especially this defense.
im not saying show the cards, but I know there is some defensive schemes vance has used in practice that he never has let in the game, try it, try changing your strategies something out of the norm its a glorified full speed practice and that's great for everyone going into PITT, we are going to have to be all over bell and rothlisturder or they are going to send us packing early. I believe after watching the ravens game we have enough to stay with and beat pitt in the plyoffs but the defense vance is using will not work (hence the throttling the ravens gave us), he needs to slide the lb's down for pressure and add a couple db's to help cover, send 5 and cover with 5 db's and a lb with 1 on 1 and coverage over the top I think we will succeed. if we can free up the check block out the backfield on wake and one guy off suh's double team by sending 5 those 2 will have a field day.
Rough Brady up. Put him on his *** early and often. This is a home game. This is a different team a different culture.Play tough and let them start pulling starters.
Yup, that's the game plan. Force Brady to beat you on the short stuff over the middle. Keep the pressure high. Then on offense, keep Moore in good down/distance areas where he can succeed. Lean hard on the run game with all three backs, plus get Landry involved early.
Strike first, strike hard, no mercy, sweep the leg and get 'em a body bag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We need to spoil the Pats #1 seed like last year. Oakland will need to step up and win with McGloin though.
If we have to play Pitt, this game gives us some good and bad news. The good is that it gives us a fresh outlook of the team we play the next week, but it could put us on tape with Pitt to make adjustments. NE's offense is very similar to Pitt. We need to see how we will compensate for mis-matches (LB's on TE's or backs) and how we could disguise coverage. However, maybe we don't disguise that coverage to show for the next week
Umm that's what they excel at! I want them to force their RB's to beat us. I want no part of Brady passing short and over the middle. That's our biggest weakness and his biggest strength.
New England has more yards rushing than we do. I don't think we really want them rushing against us either, either, esp after that putrid performance Miami had last week. Blount has 17 TDs, which, I think, leads the league. He's quietly having a really good year. Brady has to get hit and hit a lot. Get him pissed at his teammates. I'm sure they love it when he's *****ing. Haha
need to play action way more. I think in the entire Bills game we passed just once on first down and only a handful of times on second down. 2 straight rushes for 1st down screams play action pass on the 3rd play.
This might be the game to do just exactly that! They're shifty as hell, but let's push them around a little. Undercut some of those dinks. Our LBs have to be on their games as well.
If we hit Brady on every play I would be happy, even if it ultimately has no bearing on this 2016 season for us. I'd love to see the Patriots go into the playoffs with Garrapalo at the helm.
They really need this game. Vegas has NE by 10 at least as of yesterday. The 6 spot gets you Pitt & NE just to get to the AFC Championship game. The 5 seed gets you Houston & Oakland.
I just seen on espn, bell brown and big head ben are a maybe to sit on sunday, I say we do the same and sit everyone the second half including moore let yates throw the ball al over, def don't play ajayi at all I would even go as far as to say landry parker and stills should sit also. id sit all the defensive starters the second half. if we could control our own destiny by winning it would be one thing, but having the the chiefs at a 1 o clock gametime doesn't help.
Was actually going to say something similar. Sit'em after the 1st half. Letting them go two full weeks without playing and contact is unwise IMO.
I agree but not for ajayi I think 2 weeks for him will help him a lot. He runs to hard to take the chance.
Yes this is the key to winning to sum it up. Every time we've beat the Patsies is when we got to Brady early and often.
