not quite as talented? well..........................................Jarvis is not quite utilized as Smith was. Jarvis is over-utilized for a lack of run game at times, with these bubble screens and VERY short passes. It has been shown this year what he can do one on one down the field. Be careful on the under-valuation of Jarvis, because like Welker he could go to NE and torture Miami for years to come.
We can just call it speed, Landry is a 4.51 guy, Smith was a 4.39 guy, thats the only real difference in talent.
Landry has football speed. We saw that against Jets and Cards. No one has asked him to go deep one on one. He does what he asked across the middle, screens or short routes. I get it bro, i'm a huge Landry fan myself, and I wasn't crazy about the draft pick at the time, I thought, not enough ceiling at the time, but he turned me right around with his tenacity, and I do think he can be more utilized vertically, but from the slot position, if he's working vs #1 CBs, vertical routes wouldn't work, he's not running past #1 CBs, he just doesn't have that kind of speed. But I do agree he has deceptive speed, and he gets to full speed very quickly. SS though, was working vs #1's all the time, and he had the speed to challenge the best CBs in the league. I think Welker is a very fair comparison for Landry, except that Landry also has that SS gene, as DelHomme once said of SS, "he has competitive arrogance, and I mean that in the best way", that is Landry too, you cannot convince either one of them that they aren't the best WR in the NFL, lol, and that's what makes Jarvis great.
