DDP is going to be in the HOF this year.

You'd also have to think Vader will be put in this year since he's got less than 2 years to live.

I wonder who would be the head liner. Maybe since it's in Miami it will be The Rock.

My bad, I thought for some reason WM was in Miami this year. Miami, Orlando.... same difference right?

WM34 is headed back to New Orleans.

Vader deserves to go in, not for his WWE stint (which Shawn Michaels unfairly cut the legs out from under), but because of his work in Japan and WCW and overall legend as one of the best big men ever.

Sidenote: The original person New Japan Pro Wrestling wanted to play Big Van Vader?

    Jim Hellwig.

But Jim ended up signing with WWE and becoming the Ultimate Warrior before they could finalize the deal.

    Their second choice?

    Sid Eudy

But he decided to continue as Sid Vicious in the NWA/WCW, so they went with their third choice, Leon White.

Who we now all know as Vader.

Crazy how it works out sometimes.

Yeah Vader absolutely deserves to go in. His WWF run was eh, a mixture of him being injured coming in, working sloppy at times and of course Shawn throwing a hissy fit and not wanting to drop the title to him. If Vader came to the WWF in the mid to late 80s he would have made a ton of money against Hogan.

I think Warrior and Sid would have flopped in Japan, both had the looks but couldn't back it up in the ring nor could they pull off a good brawl/strong style match.

Pretty cool that DDP got in. But I hope they dont introduce him with his WWE entrance and bring back his WCW entrance one last time.

Goldberg is scheduled to wrestle at the Fast Lane PPV in February so now there's speculation that it might be Goldberg/Lesnar 3 at that PPV and Goldberg and Lesnar will wrestle different opponents at WM.

Wonder if they have something like Reigns/Rollins eliminate Goldberg/Brock simultaneously setting up a WM feud for each? Hopefully Rollins/Brock and Reigns/Goldberg not vice versa.

    Doubtful, but who knows.

Rumors are creative watched NJPW Omega/Okada and

    NOW

Want to finish WM with a strong/great match. Interesting, it takes outside influence for them to want a great wrestling match to end their biggest wrestling show :001_rolleyes:

You know call me crazy but if Goldberg is up for a 10 to 15 minute brawl/stiff match I think Reigns/Goldberg would be an interesting match.

I'll pass on Rollins/Brock though, been there, done that. I don't know who they would have Brock wrestle if it wasn't Goldberg. The only possible interesting idea would be Brock and Rhoda Rousey vs. Triple H and Stephanie.

Interesting but I'm not sure what match up they can have that would give them a great match until it's Styles vs. Balor, Rollins or Nakamura. And I can't see the WWE in 2017 having one of those match ups close the show.

It would have to be something like Aj Styles vs Balor for sure... maybe balor wins the royal rumble and takes on the smackdown champion? I dont know, id hate for him to go to Smackdown though

I think aj styles and Cena had one of the best matches in 2016. It was cluttered with finishinng moves but it was still a great match.

Rumors right now are John Cena vs. Undertaker for the WWE Title and Reigns vs. Stroman for the Universal Title. Obviously Cena vs. Taker would be the main event in that case.

Meltzer just said that cena/taker is off.

Also, heavy rumors that Samoa Joe will debut at Rumble, and will begin a HUGE push to one of the top matches at Mania for one of the titles possibly. Good for him. Would be fantastic.

Yeah just going to post that. Meltzer is saying Undertaker will face someone from the RAW brand but it won't be Braun. My guess is Roman Reigns or wild card Goldberg (although Meltzer said on the Podcast with Austin that Goldberg/Brock is going to happen at WM), as those are the only two guys it would make sense for Taker to fight. Taker vs. Owens wouldn't be that special match in my opinion, plus Owens vs. Jericho makes the most sense there.

Yup, plus it leaves Smackdown lacking any star power. On RAW you have Undertaker, Brock, and Goldberg for WM season. Over on Smackdown you got Cena and then who?

He is, and has been the MVP of the WWE this year, but he's not on the same playing field as Cena, Taker, Goldberg, or Brock. RAW has all the superstar power and Smackdown just has Cena.

So...remember when I said that when I started in the business, that Cena was sort of a prick to me? Turns out I am not the only one.

Ryback recently talked about Cena on his podcast and had this to say:

    * John Cena was a "piece of ****" to Ryback

    * Said that Cena and him have blocked each other on Twitter

    * Said Cena used to **** talk to him when they were in the ring together and would talk **** backstage about him

    * Said Cena has been "poison" for the wrestling industry because of how he has buried guys and held younger guys back.

    * Said Cena is from the mentality of "shove a guy down the fans' throats" rather than push the guy the fans respond to

    * He theorized that HHH's hand in NXT was a way to thwart Cena's influence on new talent getting over. He said that HHH uses NXT as a way to protect new stars from Cena. He said Cena can no longer pick battles over one guy because now there are nine guys hot on on his heels

    * The most interesting thing here is that Ryback mentioned an "incident" between Cena and Alex Riley that destroyed Riley's career. Riley recent mentioned the same thing on JR's podcast. Here's the full quote:

"...I know Alex Riley just came out and [admitted he had issues with Cena] and when people hear what really happened with that, they're going to lose their ****. Like, and I know, I have a pretty good idea of what happened with that and the guys in WWE. And, one, it's f--king hilarious. And, two, it's hilarious what people will find out about John."

"...but John would sit back there and bury Riley in front of everybody for no reason and Alex Riley is ****ing money and he was money from Day One. Busted his ***, had awesome theme music, worked his *** off, went out there and got a reaction from the people, but because of John Cena and I swear to God, I swear to ****ing God, because of John Cena, his career is over in the WWE for no ****ing reason outside of John and his personal issues. Unbelievable."

Here is what Riley had to say about that incident with John Cena:

"I'll put it this way. There was an incident and it certainly changed the path of my career. I don't want to discuss it right now, but I will one day for sure. I will one day. It was a tough situation at times, I guess we can leave it at that, and, honestly, JR, I struggle with the morality of even talking about it and I'm not into blowing up anybody else at this point, but I promise you this, I will address it one day for sure. You don't want to know. It was a tough situation."

My two favorite Cena moments are when Rollins broke his nose (real) and when Lesnar kicked him in the nuts (not real, but funny).

My thing with Cena is the obvious. He was "super cena" for so long, and people want to say it's because there was a lack of talent etc....but that's not true.

He and Punk should have main evented WM. Now, not sure if Cena had say in that, obviously Rock is the biggest draw of all time, I get that. But the stuff with him squashing all the Nexus guys, squashing Ryder, and never letting anyone else go over him....we might have lost a generation of talent you'll never get back.

Rybacks stuff about HHH/NXT is supppppper interesting, and makes a **** ton of sense. Hunter is the epitome of "am I ****ing going over" and he had his own reign of terror. But lets face it, he was and will always be second fiddle to Austin/Rock/Taker/Michaels/Hart from the 90s- early 00s before they all went PT or quit. He knows it, and loves the business enough (and is obviously vested in its continued success) to do the right thing in protecting its future success.

Very interesting indeed that Ryback would shoot directly at John like that, he has NO CHANCE coming back if hes still around after this, I know he just released a book, so he may be stirring up PR....but it holds baring and is not the last time we've heard about this kind of stuff with Cena.

The funniest thing about it all, is Cena is cemented now, he's PT and he has hung around long enough to where he can "put over" Brock, Reigns, Ambrose, AJ etc....and look like a ****ing saint to the marks, and solidify his legacy so hes not 100% known as super cena. But that's a ****ing ruse. He got his. He can walk into RAW, music hits, down the ramp, thru the ropes, drop his jorts, and take a watery **** in the middle of the ring yell on the mic "the **** is herrrreeeee" and walk out....and he'd still have a place in WWE whenever he wanted.

Sam, Ryback and Cena worked a ton of stuff together, how dangerous is it in the ring being with someone you don't trust and is straight talking **** to you the entire match? I have to think that is super unsafe...

  36. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

People take liberties in the ring, from time to time, but it is rare, and usually policed in the back by the rest of the boys, if someone was out of line inside the ring. It is a good way to get blackballed really quickly. The worst thing you can say about a Pro Wrestler is they are unsafe to work with. You are literally putting your life in someone else's hands. Most people realize that that can easily be them with someone else, down the road, and shy away from taking the opportunity to settle the score inside the ring.

But it has happened. Probably most famously with Manny Fernandez in Puerto Rico after Bruiser Brody was murdered in the locker room by Invader #1 (Jose Gonzalez). A knee drop to his midsection from the top rope, a ruptured stomach cavity and blood galore all over the ring. Some think it was a work (vodka and pig's blood), but Manny insists that it was a receipt for his partner (Invader 1) killing Brody. Not sure if anyone will ever know since Manny is adamant about protecting the business, but the legend goes that is was a shoot.

But you also have times where two people hate each other, but worked safe with one another. Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, comes to mind. In fact, their hatred for each other seemed to fuel them to be better for it.

Good for Angle getting into the HOF. It's too bad that he was such a loose cannon behind the scenes because if he stayed clean he probably would have been the best wrestler ever. He had the look, obviously the skills, could work heel or face and could talk. It's a shame he wasted the majority of his career out of the WWE spotlight.
