Love the strategy of keeping their own before looking outside tomorrow. There is no more dysfunction Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good deal for a solid #2...Devante hasn't proven himself so not sure why he's regarded as the 2 yet over Stills. Btw, been checking out the site for over a year now and finally decided to create an account and post. Love how you guys only post relevant breaking news, at least more so than finheaven who post new topics 5000+ times a day...
Welcome to the light. What took you so long? And why do you have a patsie for an avatar??? ARE YOU A SPY!?!
Agreed 100% I think he can potentially be a #1 with his skill set, just going by what we've seen from him up to this point.
Good news. Great news actually. RT keeps his 3 weapons. Gets a fourth in Thomas tomorrow when the trade gets finalized. Not a huge hit either for Kenny. Another guy who showed up, put the work in, did his job, and got rewarded. That's how good teams run, and create good locker room culture. Positive day for Miami. Bit rich IMO for Branch, but there's on complaints on the Stills deal. Good day for Miami.
That is a very good deal. Now we need to invest in free agency in a top guard. Enough of the interior OL play ruining the entire offense.
Good thing those rumors of $12 mil per year didn't come to pass. Not a bad deal for Stills and the team. Still plenty of cash left to finish the OL and grab a guy on defense (then devote most of the draft to defense and special teams).
Yes!!!! Stills is my favorite receiver not named Jarvis or Odell in the league. Glas he's coming back.
we know what we get from Landry. Stills is a coach's favorite and will develop. If Parker can get his act together and now having a TE that knows the system, this offense can reach new levels - assuming we get two guards soon
There is an underlying story for me. So what happens with Carroo? Could Parker be on the block? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why would you trade Parker now? He's cheap. Hopefully still developing. Hopefully he gets it. Trading him now... You're likely never going to get a good return on your initial first round investment. Best to just hold on, see how he grows this year. Why take away a potential weapon for no reason? Especially when you probably aren't going to get much in return at this point. He hasn't done much. Shows potential, but struggles with being a pro. Hard to get much more than a mid to late pick right now I'd think. Better to keep him and stay on him about getting with the program Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S5 using Tapatalk... ignore the typos!
I dont want him gone. But we have a log jam. What do we do with Carroo? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Carroo clearly needs more time to grow an develop. So... the same thing we did last year with him? Again, he's cheap... Not too long ago the thought was WR's generally need 3 years to get up to speed. That notion appears to have gone away a bit recently... but you're just being too impatient here. Why move the guys on rookie deals? Let them grow, let the staff develop them, let's see what they become. What do you realistically expect to accomplish by moving either Parker or Carroo right now? Get a mid-late round pick and free up a little space? You're being impatient and making a mountain out of a molehill at this point IMO. If they were both getting paid big bucks along with Stills and Landry, then yeah, you have to do something to free up cap space. Right now though, Stills is the only guy making significant cash in the WR group. There's nothing to worry about .
I want these guys to stay. I love their price. But a logjam at WR when we have other holes is something we can look at Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is no log jam, we have quality depth at an affordable price with big upside for the future. I would like to see us add one more deep threat as insurance against a stills injury and then we are set at wideout. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
We'll get some. As I've been saying for years, we don't need great guards, we just can't have league-worst guards (Thomas & Turner).
Glad to see Kenny stayed put and at what appears to be a discount in this day and age. He is a key part of the offense and has some real rapport with Thill and its not an easy thing to just go out and replace 9td's off the street. I like how this deal doesn't set a bad precedent with what I hope is going to be signing Landry to an extension soon. Really 8 mil average per year is about as good as I could have hoped for.
I don't get why you think there is a "logjam" at WR. We'll go into the season with at least 5 at the position, maybe 6. Landry, Stills, Parker, Carroo are only 4 of 5. Jakeem Grant and Rashawn Scott were 5 and 6 last year but Scott was only active for 2 games. We barely have a full WR corps. Parker, Carroo, Grant and Scott are all on rookie contracts. WR position ain't broke, don't try to fix it. Has nothing to do with any other holes we have, especially not whether or not we can acquire Guards.
Agreed. Wide Receiver is one of the few positions where having 4 good to decent ones is not a problem.
