Hence why the Dolphins will always be looking up at NE..... Alonso was terrible, missed tackles, can't cover, when he finally hits someone it's 8-10 yards down the field....
We have really done a very ****ty job with the amount of cap room we had this offseason. Do we have one good signing of a not past his prime starting caliber player that didnt get a horribly valued contract from a team perspective? We have signed a bunch of older players for a team that is not all that close to competing for a super bowl. Reminds me a lot of what we did in 2008 with Parcells, even though we obviously werent close to being as dismal. Lots of old, solid, but not spectacular veterans that might be able to give you a solid year or 2, but no foundational pieces that will give you a bright future for when you actually might have a chance to compete. The 2 trades for Hayes and Thomas were good, but just about every re-signing was poor value, a bad player, or both.
we are the opposite of the pats. They look for value in contracts always and will almost never overpay for players no matter the impact they have had for them, which allows them to always have depth and seemingly indestructible no matter how many injuries they accrue. Granted, they always have Brady and Belicheck, but their overall organizational and team building philosophy is so much better than the dolphins
I agree, which are exactly the reasons why he was moved to Weakside. I am thinking this is the kind of money they offered zach brown, and when he turned it down they decided to lock up kiko instead. Only problem is zach is actually a more talented LB than kiko. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
Perhaps...but Tom Brady allows them to cover a multitude of sins. I like keeping Stills...I like Hayes, I like Timmons, I like Branch...JT is an upgrade at TE. Our cap for next year is good. We have to get Jarvis signed and get our rookies done.
I like the hayes trade and timmons and stills signing. However branch and alonso are now way overpaid. Thomas trade was ok but there are some serious doubts there given his injury history and lack of recent production. And probably my biggest gripe with the offseason is that we needed two quality starting Guards going in and we still need two quality starting guards coming out of free agency. I'm so sorry but ted larsen and Jermon Bushrod are not quality starting guards. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
Wonder if losing Clay, Miller etc. affected the FO. Tricky call - lock guys up early so you're not forced to pay huge amounts for them, or risk losing them if you act too late. This contract for Kiko looks big now, but the way the cap has been rolling this might not look so bad in a couple of years time - assuming he doesn't get injured or fall off completely. Which is, of course, a possibility.
