Just listening to qam on the net and mandich was asked what he thought about our rook Henne,

He said he's very excited about henne and that we might have gotten real lucky and that the gods dropped a special package off at dolphin headquarters. He also said that chad will get the first quarter and a half of action, henn will likely come in brfore the first half ends, henne starts the third and goes till almost the end, maybe some mop up for beck.

Now i know The big dog is not only a dolphin homer but also a Meeechigan homer as well, but i do love the guy and respect his totally bias opinion.

Other tidbits: Pennington really thinks that hagan could be a great receiver.

Jeff Ireland is completely sold on our new kicker carpenter and said the release was based on talent.

I remember when Parcells was freshly hired ,Maddog had a chance to meet with Bill and during that conversation Bill asked about Jake Long and Chad Henne.

Of course Maddog gave him a glowing report.

Apparently Bill took this to heart and he ended drafting both of them.

How do I know that ? Because Maddog talked about that incident on WQAM right after the meeting and I was listening.

A great portent to the events that came later

So..... why not just hire Mad Dog as President of Football Operations then?

I like Mandich as much as the next guy, but I find it hard to believe Parcells picked those two because our radio color guy is a homer for his Alma Mater.

Methinks Parcells was going to draft them anyway, and just wanted to know what Mad Dog thought :wink2:

Absolutely. After a 1-15 season it's good to see there are still guys as enthusiastic as us about our beloved Phins.

I remember reading that here when it happened. Was it you who posted that exchange. I'm sure he didnt convince Parcells to draft them but in retrospect it showed what Parcells was thinking in regards to the upcoming draft. I think that happened in December or January if I'm not mistaken

Yeah I agree. I really thought Hill had shown some good flashes when he was in. I'll be watching him tonight (or actually Monday on replay)

man are they bashing wilford on the radio, i really like going with hagan, ginn, and bess as our slot, with ronnie and ricky bashing folks sprinkle in a little fasano, with pennington orchestrating...not bad.

They said that with just a few practices chad has been better then anything they've seen at the qb position in a a lotta years

Seems like Bess is securing a roster spot. No way we can sneak him onto the practice squad at this point. I can't imagine cutting Wilford with the signing bonus he got though it is disappointing to hear so many bad reports. Kircus and Camarillo look like they're going to be fighting it out for the last spot. Kircus seemed to have the better game last week. We'll see what happens tonight.

I'm really happy to hear that about Chad. When he was playing at his best, he was a great QB. He really lead those Jets playoff teams. Would be great to see him doing the same for us.

Is there any chance that we can keep both Kircus & Camarillo on the 53 man squad? If that's possible what position / who can we drop to make room?

Sparano said that as soon as pennington arrived the team picked up its energy, hes feels good about the situation, doesnt have to worry about managing the game from the sideline.

I don't understand how anybody can dislike Mad Dog. He says it like it is. When we stink he says we stink. When we are good he says we are the best thing since sliced bread.

The enthusiasm he brings to us is unmatched by any other team in the NFL. Just listen to the replay of last years Camarillo catch. Come on. How can you dislike a guy like that?

Sometimes I have him commentating on the computer while I watch the game. There's a little delay but its better than the morons they usually have.

    Mad Dog for President.

My personal favorite Mandich quote from last night's game came when Dan Carpenter was lining up his 3rd Field Goal attempt...

    Classic Mad Dog
