I don't think it was a fluke. Our team when relatively healthy was pretty good. It may not be the best team in the East as our second half record suggests but I don't think it's unreasonable to believe that we'd be a top 4 team in the East given average health.

Paxson says if Wade wants a buyout, he will need to return a large chunk of his player option salary he opted into. And he's being firm on it. So Wade, get ready for a terrible long season. No way he sacrifices half or even a quarter of that 24 million.

I also think if we sign our own, that we end up with Rudy Gay as well. There's an awful lot of smoke to that one.

There have been rumors since the middle of last season that Gay has shown interest in the Heat and that he's a guy they've had their eye on. I wonder if he would look at what happened with Waiters and Johnson, and take a prove it deal with Miami. It seems like a good fit for something like that.

That Stephen A. rant where he talks about Phil Jackson's first confirmed action as president being to give Lamar Odom a bunch of money, with Lamar Odom being literally on CRACK...too precious.

Stein reporting that CP3 to the Rockets is very real

I think it's a mistake actually. The Rockets took off by putting the ball in Harden's hands and playing at a breakneck pace. CP3 can't or won't do that

Per Woj, Knicks trying to hire Toronto's Massai Ujirri to be President/GM

Now that would be a great hire. Which means it won't happen

Chris Paul - James Harden has been the guy personally recruiting him.

Paul George - This is Daryl Morey's top priority. He tried really hard before the draft to get it done...he is getting closer.

Ryan Anderson is gone if Paul or George comes thru. Zhou Qi (7'2", 36% from 3, 3 blocks per game) is here, so Anderson becomes expendable.

Pat Beverley just made 1st Team All Defense, so his trade stock is up. He is likely traded to open up more cap space.

Lou Williams and his 7 mil salary is likely gone too, if Sergio Lull (Euro MVP) comes over.

Could be interesting. I know the Coach of the Year (Dantoni) can make it work.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts Griffin. The immediate reaction is this increases the likelihood he leaves, but now he's the man there, and I read one writer say he heard people around the league think this could lead to him staying in LA.

Some crazy stuff goin down if the Rockets end up with Paul George.

Saw something on twitter about Carmelo Anthony going down to join CP3 if he gets a buyout offer.

We'll take all of them. If you can't beat these damn super teams, make one of your own.

    CP3
    Harden
    George
    Melo
    Capela
Eric Gordon as the 6th man.

All these scrubs the Rox are trading for are necessary to complete the CP3 trade. They're paying for non guaranteed guys to make the numbers work. Not necessarily related to any other big move

    See Albert Nahmad for details

Windhorst says the trade has just been taken to NBA headquarters for approval.

Morey has essentially turned the #28 first pick (turned to Lou Williams), Pat Beverley, and our 9th man off the bench (Dekker) into All-Star Chris Paul. LMAO...it's a damn shame he only finished 2nd for Exec of the Year.

Oh it was a great deal. Never said it wasn't.

I just don't see the assets that get George over what Boston is potentially offering

I know Riley will never do it, but if we can't get Hayward/Griffin, I wonder if we're not better off tanking.

Let JJ and Waiters go, trade Dragic and recoup some assets. Hang on to Hassan for now and just play your young guys.

Pick is top 7 protected this year and we're running out of protected years. If we're going to tank needs to be the next two years

Then again, with this mass migration west, it's not going to be easy to tank in the east

They are going to have 8 teams in the playoffs and I see only 4 locks right now (Cleveland, Boston, Washington and Milwaukee)

Other than that every team is in a state of flux.

I can't see how the Rockets find the assets to get George. They stole CP3, but that was a different situation because Paul could have gone there with nothing going back to the Clippers if he wanted. If they find a way to get George, that would be a hell of a coup.

Kings signing Serbian guard Bogdan Bogdanovich to 3/$36 million.

That has to be Waiter's floor I imagine.

Lol, geez. It was just a thought

As much fun as last year was, do you really want to spend all our cap space on JJ and Waiters?

    You're smarter than that

Any idea on Miami's expectations going into FA? I'd image Hayward is priority #1 and then Griffin? Any trades would be pretty out of LF at this point unless they find a way to pull off George.

Jackson wrote that rival GMs seem to think he won't get more that $10M per, and it could be less than that. Him getting hurt last year might save us some money.

If you ONLY spend your cap space on those two guys...you just retained two assets that you are an advocate for throwing away.

Yes. I am smart. That is why I thought of that.
