I was wondering why the show has turned into Curtis Stevenson and Chris Perkins. This explains it. But I hadn't heard of anything else going on prior to this Battery arrest. What has been going on?

Apparently he went through a really bad divorce which led to an absence from the show for like 3 months.

I'm sure he's getting fired now unfortunately.

Seemed like such a nice guy. But even when he came back he wasn't as good. I thought he was a major talent but just blew it

Damn that is a shame. He was an insightful personality on the radio. I enjoyed the show with him and Perk and he always had a pulse on the Heat. I hope he can recover. I mean Sid Rosenberg is STILL on the dial in South Florida and that guy has a rap sheet a mile long.

Skolnicks career from potential national reporter to maybe he will be able to become a source for someone reporting news in Telemundo.

I'll see what I can do. But you gotta take Asik.

Seriously though, there are reports he won't waive no clause for Pelicans. Bummer.

When Ethan gets it back together, I think he'll be fine. He's a smart guy, and quite frankly this kind of stuff really hasn't been too much of an impediment for previous radio personalities. Long as he can avoid jail.

Noah's contract is the only contract worse than Asik's!

Noah is signed for three more years at 17, 18, and 19 million. Asik has two more years at 10 and 11 million.

Rockets vs Warriors on opening day. Yeah, I need the Knicks to hurry up with this Melo trade if it is truly going to happen. Team practice and workouts start in Bahamas in a couple weeks. We need Melo there.

Rockets vs Thunder on Christmas Day. That should be fun.

The Knicks will likely get some young players and expiring contracts from Utah or Portland. Maybe even a pick. I can't see anything else.

Ethan looks to be in bad shape; his mugshot and appearance in court were really embarrassing. He looked coked up out of his mind. He was arrested for beating up his 70 year old father.

Yeah the judge ordered a mental health evaluation so I'd guess he's in the verge of getting Baker Acted. Apparently he had assaulted the father before but it wasn't reported.

Just a shame all around. This guy needs to pull it together.

How would he be trading the entire team? If you trade Dragic+Winslow, you upgrade the PG position and lose nothing from last season basically since Winslow was injured most of the year. If you throw in Bam, he wasn't even on the team. You can make the case that you like the young guys' potential, but it's not even close to gutting the team.

The behavior described strikes me as either drug related, evidence of advanced alcoholism, or involves a flare up in a previously identified mental illness for which he's perhaps stopped taking his medication.

It's tough. I've had friends go through this. Not easy to get through.

Yeah. Particularly when you're going through a lot of upheaval. He burned through a few different writing jobs the last few years, had revolving co hosts on the show and the situation with his wife.

That's a lot of stress on anybody

Yep. Here are some screenshots. That's Kyrie in the blue top and black shorts, and Hassan in the black top, white shorts.

EDIT: Sorry, they're huge. I'm not sure how to make them smaller.

Rumor has it that Carmelo is warming up to Portland. I guess we can find out if it's true. Collins, aminu, Harkless and a 2018 1st. Harkless would at least be moveable and Aminus deal only has this year and an option left and is also moveable.

Avoid: Turner, Meyers Leonard, and any other awful deals on Portlands cap.

For your sake, I hope that's what you get, but I think you're going to be let down by the return. I'd be shocked if they give up Collins, and I can't see any way they do Collins and a pick.

I got that same notification. Still, no one wants Ryan Anderson to facilitate the deal and the rockets don't want to move Gordon and Ariza to facilitate the deal. Can't see how it gets done mathematically without one of those things happening. That's been the hold up. Well that and the rockets assets are all 1-3 years out. Hartestein is ok but there's no 1sts til 2020 as I believe they gave their 2018 1st for CP3.

I think yourself and a lot of others are underestimating how much Anthony is worth. He's a perfect 3rd piece for a contending team. The problem is on Portland is he's really a 2nd piece because he's better then McCollum. Particularly in the playoffs.

We'll see, but Paul George didn't get anywhere near that return, and he's a more valuable player.

True but there's three things working against that comparison...
    1. George is thought to be heading to LA
    2. Melo can opt in next year if he wants to stay so he's yours for at least 2 years if he wants to be there.
    3. Melo is ideal as a stretch 4 in a smaller lineup. George is a 2/3 tweener who is a better defender then offensive player. Depending on the team composition I don't see it as outrageous to say Melo is flat out better for many teams then Paul George, depends on what those teams need. I don't see either Melo or PG as an ideal #2 option at this point, though Melo is closer to that imo.

I just don't see how you can argue that. Sure, Melo can opt in, but he is expected not to, and I'd think in Portland it would be much more unlikely than likely. Melo can be a stretch 4, but I'm not sure George can't. He's taller than Melo, a better defender, and had more rebounds per game from the 2/3 spot than Melo did from the 3/4 spot. Melo obviously has more bulk, though. I also can't see how you'd discount George's offensive ability. He scored more points per game, had a better FG%, a better 3pt%, and more assists per game. Now, you can say those are just numbers, but I've watched George play plenty of times, and I see an extremely gifted offensive player, and I don't think I'm alone on that. I would guess that damn near every team in the league would rather George even for a year. Even if it's close though, I can't see how you should expect him to get a significantly better return than George did. Hell, you could argue that the Bulls got a similar return to that Collins, Aminu, 1st package you mentioned for Jimmy Butler who is younger, better, and signed for a few more years.

Again, I hope for your sake that I'm wrong, but I think the best trade your going to get is headlined by a pick that could be protected, expiring contracts, and maybe a young bench player with some upside.

Contract wise, i think Melo will only go to a location where hes likely to opt in or resign. Hes due over 27m next year, a number he may not see on a per year basis at his age in a longer term deal. But as a GM you get either a shorter term commitment at likely less money then George will get in FA and possibly a longer term before having to worry about FA if he opts in.

Youre also taking Carmelo's worst year as a pro. He played hurt much of the year and wasnt as engaged as he could be. That last part is certainly the players own fault, but was also a circumstance situation while being unwanted by his own GM.

George may be an inch taller and more athletic, but Melo has actually been a stretch 4 (D'Antoni years). George maybe in spurts. I dont think its a question that Melo is more physically able to play there for a full season.

Paul George is a good player. Im not arguing that. And yes his stats look shiny. Hes terrible though late in games and for someone who wants the last shot so bad he really should try making one. Hes 0-12 on career game winners while Melo has the 2nd most game winners since Kobe and does so at a pretty good clip. Melo can also get his own shot off in any situation from anywhere on the floor without a true weakness and IF he lands in Houston he will be going to a situation where he was probably his most efficient with a PG who will put him in position to do what he does best...score a lot.

I think people overlook other aspects of Anthonys game. Melo averaged more assists in the 2015-16 league year (4.2) then George did in any season. It was actually Melo's best year as a passer. George's best year as a passer (at least assist wise) wise 2013 when he averaged 4.1. Hes a willing rebounder, having 20 double doubles during the 15-16 season. As a defender it isnt a debate that PG is better. Hes made 3 all nba teams while Anthony has made 0. But Anthony has shown hes capable of good D in spurts, particularly in the playoffs. In a situation where he will have less offensive pressure then hes ever had to be an elite scorer, i think it will be reasonable to see more engagement and a uptick in defensive results.

Lastly, the pacers had other offers on the table, including one where Love was going to Denver for Gary Harris, Bledsoe and a 1st that was likely going to be accepted. The problem was the pacers owner didnt want PG dealt in the division or even in the conference and basically forced them to take a much lesser deal. So yes, i do expect more of a return because in a Dolan-esque stroke of stupidity the pacers just took a much worse deal when clearly they wont be contending for 2-3 years minimum. Not even the Knicks are that dumb.
