After yesterday's perfomance (and the whole preseason, TBH), it seems pretty obvious to me that we have to try to get Jakeem Grant more involved on the offense.

You offensive gurus out there have ideas on how to achieve this?

I'd love to get all of our best weapons on the field at the same time, which to me right now is Ajayi, Parker, Landry, Stills and Grant. Every single one of those guys can make big plays if given opportunities.

If we start using Jakeem on a more consistent basis it'll open up more opportunities for bubble screens, end arounds and some trick plays without showing our hands to the defense when he's on the field.

You guys think using more 10 personnel like that would be a good strategy? How would we line them up? Grant and Stills out wide each to one side or both on the same side? Endless possibilities, really...

lining him up on the outside or in motion, but maybe out the backfield too. we need that line to keep Cutler up for an extra second

The game is on NFL network at 1PM today for those who don't know (2 hours from now)....set your DVR if you want to catch it.

Has anyone really watched how tyreek hill is used in Reid's system, does he line up on the outside like grant has?

Were deep at WR. Can we trade one for a starting LB?

He's been pretty disappointing this training camp/preseason, honestly. But we'll see how he does when the season starts... as of right now I'm not considering him a huge playmaker, at least not between the 20's, maybe in the redzone.

Didn't really follow KC last season, but I seem to recall him catching some deep balls on the outside quite like Jakeem has this preseason. He also lines up quite a bit in the backfield, IIRC.

That's the thing bras, and I mentioned this yesterday, but grant is winning on route running and speed...he hasn't even displayed his rare open field ability, which is every bit as good as hill.

we would have to trade Stills, Parker or Landry. No thanks. I know Grant and Carrioo will improve, but not at the expense of losing the big 3

I imagine a defense trying to stop Grant on a wheel route out of the backfield and... it cannot be done.

I'm no offensive guru, but he only other thing I can think of is a bunch formation including Grant. That might allow him a moment to get loose.

I think it's a trust issue for Gase. Grant needs to prove the fumble issues are behind him so he can see more playing time. Love what he has done so far this preseason.

I don't want him on special teams. he hasn't proved that he is a better player there

Last night's first half offense was almost 100% Grant....yet he dropped several passes as well. I'd like to say he's a lock to make the team.

To use him more of offense, I think it's just a matter of getting him on the weak side opposite Stills and Parker, or on the strong side crossing the field....whatever it takes to put him in some space. I don't think the challenge is at the top of the route at all...teams can double him all day long....if he gets separation then it's over. When you factor in that Cutler will launch before a guy is even open, that's going to be a huge weapon this season.

Personally, I'd have him on the field sometimes on the early downs in place of Landry and all those silly bubble screens we run. Just get him a favorable match-up, let it rip and then have him sit for the next 20 minutes until they're ready to try it again. I have a feeling that homerun pass will be there all year long though with him as a #4-#5 type of receiver.

I don't know, man. all he does is score touchdowns. you have to do more than that.
