Dolphins games are great and all but Irma is shaping up into something potentially horrible.

The moving of a football game is really nothing compared to what this could mean for a lot of people in the USA but also the Caribbean.

I don't know how many members are Florida residents but stay safe guys and take what precautions, make whatever preparations, you need.

I'll be praying this whole thing blows over, literally, and ask any other believers join me.

For those on Twitter, if you don't have another decent source of Florida weather info apparently this lady is reliable so maybe worth a follow: https://twitter.com/KMillerWeather

    Also - https://twitter.com/NHC_Atlantic

Lastly, this probably goes without saying but if you're in Florida and know anyone nearby you who is in any way vulnerable or house-bound or dependent on electricity or prescriptions or whatever, now would be a good time to maybe see if they could use a hand with anything.

    Phins up guys!

I think Gase is in prep mode for Thurs and Fri. There is zero way this game is played on Sunday because both teams I believe have said they don't want another venue. Fri will have tropical storm winds, so I see this Thursday

And we need to make sure our horses are ready, will be rainy too. Bring out the mudders

I'd just like to reiterate what Galant said. I realize, as a Florida Native, I may be a little premature, but all of you that could be potentially be affected take care. Irma has turned into a real big *****...

Hoping for the best, but this looks like it could impact the entire season.

Less concerned about football though, and worried about safety of South Florida. Stay safe people!

I've been thru a category 5 Hurricane boys and girls and let me tell you to it ain't no joke. The highest gust recorded before the gauge broke was 236 mph. NOTHING that wasn't concrete stayed put. I watched the wind ROLL my neighbors F-150 acroos the street like a tumble weed. Get prepared NOW!!!

And if you are in the impact zone get out!. If you can't get out make sure you get behind concrete walls and under a concrete roof during the storm. Don't get cocky with this one boys and girls.

    So CAL
Shout out to everyone in south Florida good luck and stay safe, Hoping for the best unfortunately I have no idea what a hurricane is like, out here in SOCAL id rather deal with an earthquake than sit and wait for a hurricane to hit lol but all jokes aside hoping the best for everyone out there and making it through with little to no casualties.

    GOOD LUCK and Go phins!!!

No way this game happens now with efforts starting now to get ready for Irma. Looks like we'll be waiting another week to the season and looks like our bye week is bye bye as well. Small prices to be paid really when you look at what everyone is facing down in Florida. But still sucks plenty.

If they move the game to a neutral site OR play the game on the Bye Week then the Phins won't have a home date until October 8. 2 Road games and a Home date in London. Perhaps that's for the best if this storm mashes up South Florida.

Helped clean up South Florida in the 90s after Andrew hit, then dealt with Katrina and Ivan when I was in Pensacola and Hattiesburg. It's NOT just the hurricanes themselves, but also the tornadoes that spin off on land, then surviving the weeks following the storm.

People should be getting out if they can.

BTW, if anyone is wanting to get their loved one away, Cash is willing to let your wives stay with him... :shifty:

Lived in P'cola for a year before Ivan hit. Moved to MS following that. Had previously lived in FWB when in the AF back in the 90s, and was part of a CE unit that helped out with recovery efforts following Andrew down in Homestead.

For those evacuating, this tip I read on twitter about protecting valuables seems small compared to making sure you and your loved ones are safe, but since it is helpful I'm sharing it:

I wouldn't have thought of that. Maybe it's standard operating procedure for hurricane veterans though.

God speed to all those in Florida affected by Irma. Stay safe. Expect the worse and don't take anything for granted. Florida and Floridians are the most seasoned hurricane witnesses. If there is anywhere that is prepared, its Florida.

    Palm Bay Florida
Hey Guys, We made it thru OK in Palm Bay. Lost the tabs off of 20 or so Shingles and knocked part of my fence down. My AC went out around 11 and the power went down at 12AM. Still waiting to get it back but people around us have been getting it back on so hopefully soon.

Someone mentioned the Tornadoes that come primarily on the East side of these things and thats no joke. We were under constant bombarbment of those in Brevard and over in the Orlando area. They recorded 1 travelling at 95 MPH forward speed! Can you imagine! I have a couple friends in Orlando that lost their roofs and another friend in Palm Bay that got hit by a tornado in his subdivision, the same one that took out 6 mobile homes to the east of him. My work flooded, we were in yesterday getting all the remaining water off the manufacturing floor. Then I went in my office and pulled 7 gallons of water out of my carpet, I have my squirrel cage blower going in here at the moment. It's all good though, most everyone I know made it through with minor problems and it could have been much worse. It was a HUGE storm and lasted forever, unreal.

    Peace Everyone!
