Gase may be pretty smart football guy but I think he’s in over his head and if I was Ross I would seriously consider taking away his offensive play calling and personal acquisition influences if he wants to remain the head coach of the Dolphins.

His personnel choices are horrible. Bringing in Cutler for 10+ Million without even given Moore a shot.

Bringing in Thomas who’s overplayed and under delivered

Both are huge positions of need and he personally pitched for them to get them on this team.

Gase doesn’t want to bench Cutler because it will show he was a mistake and he isn’t as good as everyone makes him out to be.

I think he’s also lost this team for the year. They know they are not going anywhere and possibly a sub .500 record with no playoff.

This isn’t knee jerking it’s been 5 weeks and we got what 3-4 TD in 5 games?? Pathetic with the talent on this team on offense dead last 32 in a bunch of offensive stats as well.

Gase needs to hand in the keys to the offense and get a real coordinator regardless of the blow to his ego. We need a coach to address both the defense and offensive woes.

Anyone else think he should hand over the offense and personnel acquisition and just focus on the growth of this team as the coach?

Not really sure why people weren't willing give Gase a chance this year after just 4 games.

Guy gives us our first playoff appearence since 2008 on his first season as a head coach then starts this season with a crap-load of problems: lost starting QB for the season, hurricane, important player on defense AWOL, etc.

Then he goes 2-2 and now gives us our biggest comeback in over 10 years IN ATLANTA, bringing us to 3-2 and half a game out of the division lead... all while having played just 1 game in Miami.

For the life of me I CANNOT understand these Gase detractors... give the guy a chance to at least finish the season before calling for his head.

    Oh, and there's this too:

The Dolphins can easily be 5-2 in two weeks and if Cutler doesn't throw for 400 yards and 5 TDs in those two games people will still complain.

Come on this team has played like crap this wasn’t overreaction and was posted at halftime they won I’m amazed but when your season high is 20 points that’s a shame! Gase has been horrible at play calling this season. Yes we’re 3-2 i hear you but I have honestly lost faith in some of gases choices and play calling. Second half looked like well screw it we got nothing to lose and he allowed cutler to throw some. I will say the entire NFL season has been wonky this year 3-2 and we’re 100 in the mix where years before we would already be screwed. Point still stand Gase should be doing it all let him focus on coaching the team and QB

We just beat one of the best team in football....and the reaction is "fire the head coach"???

We'd better cut Wake too then, I saw one play where he looked tired.

Funny you should say that. Today I saw a play where Wake looked tired and he also looked tired after the play. I only bring this up because it is the first time I have ever seen him look tired. He's a physical phenom, which is not news to anybody, but I kind of chuckled to myself, "OMG he may actually be human!" when I saw him looking tired.

I think Gase is a liability too. Burke is holding this team together. Our defense has been relentless and carried the team. Even in a win, we were shut out in a half. Our offense has enough talent to score every half.

    Slightly left of center
Coaches have a much greater impact on performance during the week before the game. On Gameday it's on the football players to perform. Coach has to set them up for success, but they have to execute.

This Coach has had less time to practice and coach of the first 5 weeks than any other. They have travelled more miles already than any other team will have to travel for the rest of the year.

That said, He should be kicked in the balls every time he calls a bubble screen, but he's been a pretty amazing team leader this year when handed a footlong ish sammich to start his second year.

Lighten up Francis, Dolphins won today

Too many variables and out-of-control scenarios so far this season to blame Gase - at least to the extent of wanting to fire him.
1.25 seasons as a head coach isn't that much for a first time head coach. The guy is having to learn more than just X's and O's, he's in sole charge and it's a different ball game for him. He might prove a flop, but there's no way that happens this season, or even next season, without some sort of horrendous scandal involving him or proving him grossly incompetent.

As much as we often see football as stats and numbers, there's a massive human element. We always said the Dolphins needed a culture change and Gase is bring that, but it's not something that happens in a single year. He's learning, it'll take time.

So Gase is your HC for the foreseeable future, and so far, that's a good thing.

I did notice McAdoo give up play calling. As for Miami, it's all about progress. They didn't call a bubble screen.

The post is a bit hypeebolic. Gase is a good head coach, he's just not very good at calling the offensive plays. He needs to turn the play calling over to the OC and let cutler audible at the line.

He just concentrate on managing the team and the game. Not call plays he is trying to do too much. Multitasking is not always a good thing.

with Burke in control of this defense, maybe Gase should stay in offense?
