This is the accountability for the worst offense in football. The message was clear last week. He was pissed at Ajayi for not doing his job picking up blitzers, or hitting the right holes, always looking for the home run rather than taking what's in front of him. It was clear if you listened to Gase on Friday he was not happy with Jay Ajayi. There's your accountability. Combine that with his medical history on those knees, and yes, it sucks. Loved the kid and his heart, and toughness, but with what's likely to be a short career in front of him, constant mis-steps in his play if you believe Gase this year, and lets not forget, he was left behind week 1 last year, so there's possibly some attitude issues there they aren't happy with. I'm not sure how you can say there's no accountability there, when Gase clearly blasted his RB's, especially the starter, and now he's gone. To me, when you take the emotion of losing Ajayi out of it, that's a pretty clear message of accountability. Do your job right, do it well, or you're gone. Gase eluded to it last week, and here it is.

I'm surprised, but when you factor the other stuff in, I'm not really.

Ajayi will have a strong rest of the season up in Philly with all the weapons on that offense, but I'd be shocked if he's in the league in 2 years.

It doesn't matter how many yards he gets with the Eagles. Maybe this will light a fire under his *** and wake him up.

What does matter, however, is that we are a better team now and going forward. This trade will put players on notice and likely removes a locker room "cancer".

If this move makes us better, then I'm all for it. Obviously, if the same **** running game continues through the season, then it'll be a bad look on Gase. Right now, I'm in wait-and-see mode, but I can definitely see good reasoning behind this trade.

Big assumption and leap here, but with Ajayi spending a lot of time this year focusing on himself, his clothing brand, and his own personal brand, I think he sees the writing on the wall as well about the limited shelf life playing the game. The Dolphins also know it given the medical information they'd have. Philly likely knows it since they were willing to do the deal, but for them, it's low risk, high potential reward in a year their offense looks really strong.

A better team now.....LMFAO!!! Right, Philly is now a much better team. We just got rid of our only offensive weapon for a 4th round pick that we will blow.

White flag this is 100% us giving up on the season and rebuilding. Front office is a joke a 4th for a top 5 RB in the league. Mark my words in Eagle land he will be dominate and clearly show our offensive line sucks.

Absolutely flabbergasted at the ineptness of this move. The guy made the pro bowl last year and is worth a 4th. Nobody knows how long his knees will last so I cant see how thats relevant. We all know the o-line is the problem so if ure gonna trade at least trade for something that can help u here and now as we all know how well we do in the draft. Bonehead move in my eyes but maybe thats just me.

This is the move that they should make today, but I don't think they will. The compensation won't be there likely. However, they haven't made progress on a deal with him, he's a great player, but he's limited in the roles he can play as a WR, he's had his fair share of onfield issues this year, and it sounds like he wants far more cash than he's worth. If we're indeed looking at not getting a deal done with him, now's the time to strike. Move him along, get Grant more involved, and get something in return for him rather than a lousy 3rd round compensatory pick.

I don’t see scapegoating ajayi as accountability, i see it as deflection from Gase’s **** scheme and OLine play. Accountability I want to see is Gase handing over to a competent OC and changing the scheme, or he falls on his sword.
We will see soon enough come Sunday whether ajayi was the problem.

Again, I think if you take the emotion out of it, it's not a deflection from Gase. It's about a RB who's caused headaches all the way back to last year, has a short shelf life, has limited life left in those knees, is a liability in the passing game from a blocking and receiving standpoint, and isn't sticking to the scheme in the run game by looking for the home run, rather than taking the yards there and helping to create more manageable situations. If you listen to his PC Friday, and watch some of the replays from Thursday, there's some pretty bad looks there for Ajayi, and Thursday apparently isn't the first time.

If the coaching staff, as a group feel their system is sound, and it's players not fulfilling their duties, why would the coaches fall on their swords? It's up to the players to execute, and if you have guys on your squad who are willingly ignoring their assignments, failing to execute properly, and causing other headaches as reports slowly coming out this morning suggest, then.. .this is the right move, as much as it sucks.

And, if indeed he's doing the things mentioned above, you're damn right he knows it, and the rest of the offense know it, because I can almost guarantee you it would have been pointed out in film study. So, the team is most definitely looking at this as a threat of accountability. Do what youre told, do it the right way, or do it somewhere else. It's pretty clear, even though as fans of the player we don't want to believe it.

Surprising how people really haven't been paying attention to these last few Gase pressers. The guy is basically saying there are some players on the offense that don't give a damn. And these are the BEST players on offense.

Wake up guys! He is talking specifically about guys like Ajayi, Landry, etc. These type of moves shouldn't be surprising at this point.

I really thought Landry was helping to build the culture in Miami, I guess I was wrong, he is doing the exact opposite.
Seems like he is an emotional leader on game days and doesn't give a damn the rest of the week. If this is true, he needs to go as well.

Priority number one is to change the culture in Miami and anyone who goes against that plan shouldn't be on the team.

    1. Even if he has a limited shelf life, he is not done yet and he is not costing us much as he is still on his rookie 5th rounder contract. He is only one year removed from a pro bowl season and he is the best RB we have.

    2. He is not much of a factor in the passing game because we only have him running short flat routes which the defenses are ready for. If gase was a little more creative in the way he gets the RBs the ball it wouldn't be a problem. None of the RBs have been a significant factor in the passing game, it's not just ajayi.

    3. It is not often, he freelanced more in this last game because he was tired of running into a brick wall for most of the previous games. The problem with the running game is not ajayi, it is the weak offensive line and case's very predictable playcalling continuously running it into 8 and 9 man fronts.

    4. Bull****, ajayi was fine last year he was our star, now this year everybody figured out case's offense and all of a sudden ajayi is a bum and doesn't know the offense? If he doesn't hit the right hole all the time it's because gase is running him into a brick wall most of the time and he probably got tired of getting stuffed. It's no wonder our longest runs have come because of ajayi free landing, and not because of gases playcalling. Gase is much more of a problem than ajayi.
