Rockets up by 21 pts with 2 minutes left. This Chris Paul experiment seems to be working out just fine.

    13-4

Porzingis is having a good year. But, they'll probably give it to Westbrook again even though the fraud cant shoot & still cant get his team above .500

Right now, the Heat are about as bad as the Dolphins. Not a fun time to be a sports fan in Miami, outside of the Hurricanes.

The Heat could because of Riley and the culture they've built. I also think many of their players are moveable. If things keep up like this, you could trade guys like Waiters, Whiteside, Dragic, etc. and go full rebuild. They get to keep their pick this year if it's top 7. The Dolphins on the other hand...

I hope you’re right. I also think they need to hire an offensive coordinator like a David Blatt to run the offense. Spoelstra’s offensive coaching is lacking.

Knicks won again..destroyed the Clippers as Beastzingis owned Blake.

I gotta say McDermott is almost an ideal 6th man. Instant offense when that 3 is falling

I think part of the 'Heat culture' is actually missing out on players to some extent. The loyal image we've put out has made it more difficult to move guys outside of clear flops like Sideshow McBob. First and foremost we need to figure out the draft. Star players aren't usually readily available and while this past off-season was the craziest in my memory, Miami only ended up adding Kelly Olynyk.

Starting to think this success is sustainable and the Knicks will be back in the playoff's in a weak East.

What assets do we have to potentially grab a solid player in a trade once teams start to sell?

If they’re not trading draft picks (and they absolutely should not) the only thing you can do is try and package guys like Lee and Kanter or O’Quinn. It would have to be player with either little term left( McDermott, Kanter) to help move someone else’s contract off their books or a guy teams want because his contract is good and he outperforms it (OQuinn, maybe Lee).

More likely though, I think the success is not sustainable. While the vets (Lee, Kanter, Jack) will continue to do fine and Beastzingis will do his thing, young players will have inconsistencies. This team is better served adding more youth to their core. While I don’t think they’ll be as bad as the 20 win team many thought they’d be, I said in the 2nd post I’d call it a successful year if we won more then 30-35 games. In the end, teams are going to stop taking us lightly (which is a good thing) and the record will probably be more in line with what we expect. But if we win 35 and just miss the playoffs, add another lottery pick (Donic please...he’d fit amazingly well with KP, Willy, Frank etc), it bodes well for our future. Plus we have to compete long term with Philly and Boston’s young cores and we aren’t up to par yet.

Sure, but that comes with the territory. You can accept that with the good parts of it. They were able to move McBob, though, somehow.

8-3 at home, I think they get in as a 7-8 seed. I'll bet you an overpriced NY pizza they do.

By the way, I forget who was on which side, but the argument against trading Dragic, Winslow, and Bam for Kyrie is looking a little misguided right now as he is destroying the NBA in Boston.

First of all if you think NY pizza is overpriced you’re going to the wrong places. There are plenty of places you can get dollar slices that are good and secondly it’s still the best pizza (which is probably for another thread).

More importantly, it’s better long term that they miss the playoffs for the reason I mentioned. This team needs more pieces, specifically a dynamic wing player.

This is a great year to tank a little if you're the Knicks. Expectations are low, but there's buzz around this team. Porzingis at 22 is showing that he can be a centerpiece superstar. Phil and Fisher gone, and there's some real hype in New York about their future. That might be enough to attract a key FA this offseason despite a losing record. Now's the time to get another lottery pick piece that'll fit age-wise and on the floor with KP and Frank.

I don't know how the HEAT vault themselves up into the level with the serious contenders in the East. Hard to see a path to us competing with Boston, Philly, or even Milwaukee in the next few years. It's a bummer. There are a lot of young potential stars all over the League, but none in Miami. We need a stud.

The rotation with this current roster also feels like a mess. Not that we don't have some talent, but that we sorta have too many 'almost-starter' type guys. There's got to be some kind of trade on the horizon, because the minutes distribution just doesn't add up right now. Hassan seems to be the most trade-able, probably the only way we could get something legit valuable in return.

Proud to say I was strongly in favor of making that move. Cleveland could use a healthy PG and an effective center over 6'9". I think missing out on Kyrie to a team he didn't even name as a preferred destination is the best example of how Miami has boxed itself in. You may consider me cynical, but I look at the "Heat Lifer" culture as a calculated move by management to turn fan opinion against any player who decides he doesn't want to sacrifice salary for the promise that they'll be on a competitive team. It casts the players as selfish if, like Dwyane Wade, you decide that you want to earn a market rate.

The problem is that it's come back to bite us because with the rise of the supermax and LeBron's contract hardball in Cleveland, players aren't so willing to give up earnings. The owners created the salary mess with the salary cap and they're trying to shift the costs onto players in the form of loyalty tests. We went hard on this tactic and are stuck with a mix and match cast of non-stars and support players that isn't a clear favorite in any game not against the absolute worst teams. Dragic should be very movable for example, but after the love-in with Zoran and making him feel like Miami is different from Phoenix, we have to quash every rumor that he's on the block.

I thought we would struggle with Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson out. Nuggets have the 6th best offense in the league. They're not bad.

Rockets up by 25 pts....its not even halfway thru the 2nd quarter. Wow. This CP3 thing is really coming along.

Pelicans are getting it together now that Rondo is getting integrated. AD is destroying everything he sees. He’s so much fun to watch. Boogie is still doing that Boogie thing. But he’s fun to watch too.

The Rockets played like crap and still won by 15 on the Knicks. Dantoni needs to stop playing around and put Ryan Anderson back in the starting lineup. Messed around and fell behind 21-3 to start the damn game...smh.

    15-4

By the way, the fraud MVP and his super team just lost to Detroit...now they are getting blown out by Dallas. MVP!!!

Pretty sure not having KP and Kanter that game cost the Knicks. I mean Houston is one of the best teams in the league so we kinda need our best player and best rebounder.

He's a damn good coach. I'm not sure why Gasol got him fired. I predicted Billy Donovan would flop. He lets the fraud mvp just screw everything up. If I'm OKC, I would fire Donovan and hire Fizdale today.

True but offense isn’t the Knicks problem and the fewer shots KP is taking the less efficient the offense will be.
