    Is Jerry Reese that bad?

Posting because some might consider the Dolphins need a new GM.

I don't think Jerry Reese is terrible, however his last couple drafts have been more misses than hits, and you can tell by the product on the field.

It'll be interesting if new GM decides to blow it up, or build on what they have (mainly the pieces on defense).

Reese is not good. This has been a long time coming for the NYG. Reese was 88-72 as GM but won with a roster largely built by ex GM Ernie Accorsi. Reese has had some hits, particularly in round one with JPP, OBJ, Engram but he’s had some misses too with Erik Flowers and Eli Apple. They’ve made a lot of poor picks, particularly in the mid and later rounds of the draft and the ones that were good, they walk like Linval Joseph a few years ago. While they’ve dealt with injuries this year they’ve also had some glaring holes for years like us, OL, LB and RB as well. And the way they handled the Eli benching had to be the icing on the cake. Regardless of how you feel about him as a QB he’s a 2x SB champ who will likely end up in Canton (and before you argue that, name 1 2x SB winner not in the HOF...you can’t because it doesn’t exist).

Reese is terrible, and we need a GM that knows how to scout offensive linemen. Only team with a worst offensive line than our own is the Giants.

The Ereck Flowers pick absolutely did him in. It took a hot and cold Eli to a consistently cold Eli. Dallas Thomas-level of oline ineptitude there.

Yup, I agree. Many, including myself, felt Flowers was better suited to RT or maybe Guard because his kickslide is slow and his initial punch is weak in pass pro.

This was a smart organizational move. I'm kinda envious. Clean house, bring in a new coach/GM/and possibly a QB together. That way, there is no finger pointing and no-one feels like a someone is being forced upon him. I wish we would do the same.

Just look at our organization. Ryan Tannehill was brought in by Jeff Ireland. In comes Tannenbaum who is told by Ross to sign Gase. Our organization is essentially an arranged marriage.

Blow it up. Find a coach or GM that you truly believe in. If it is a coach, let him pick the GM. If it is the GM, let him pick the coach. Then, let the coach and GM collectively decide what to do with RT.

I have a terrible feeling that this cycle will continue. Call it a hunch, but I suspect a 1st or 2nd round QB this year, and I see Tannenbaum or Gase gone next year. Someone else will inherit a round QB, rinse, repeat.

What a chicken ish move to bench Eli and break his 210 consecutive start streak. Mcadumb needs a whuppin for that. Off to High Shool for that chump. I can't imagine an NFL player playing for that loser ever.

Not a Giants or Manning fan at all, that was just a ick move.

idk, every time Mcadoo has that goofy smirk on his face and is chewing gum at his pressers, he reminds me of Trooper Farva. Expecting him to ask for a liter of cola.

I truly believe Odell will be traded in the offseason. The new GM will want to stock up as many early picks as he can and Odell gets you two firsts or a first and a conditional that turns into another early pick. Plus you dont sign him into a mega deal and take up all that space

    Classic. And so true

How they could allow him to bench manning for Geno then fire him and put manning back as starter is just... dumbfounded. I mean the second he even suggested it they should have fired him, not let it happen. Evaluate Geno smith. Lol. He’s got tons of tape to go evaluate. Look at that. Bench Eli for Geno with that mess of circumstances lol

Don’t count on it. John Mara met with him the other day to ask him about what he wants. He asked if he wanted the dog peeing celebration to be his legacy and about the future of that team. GMs in the NFL don’t build the way they do in the NBA. You don’t just trade anyone who takes up cap space for a variety of reasons not the least of which is the draft process allows for character vetting and there are simply too many pieces that need to fit together that you don’t just move out the ones you have. Rebuilds are based around scheme changes in this league so unless someone is completely incompatible or a headache, they don’t get moved. Regardless of how the media and you or me view OBJ, his talent is unquestionable and they don’t view him as a poor character person.
