The lakers just made a rule, the “Lavar Ball Rule”... where media members aren’t allowed in the designated area where family and friends of players stay anymore..... lmao It’s about to get good in L.A.... I got my popcorn ready.
That sucks... he’s a menace... I was saying he would be a huge help to the knicks and all my friends disagreed... I loved the growth I was seeing from him last year in Atlanta and now he was just clicking on all cylinders in NY... tough loss, hopefully he is only out for a couple weeks.
Now LaVarr has both amateur sons sign with an agent and plans for both to play overseas. This guy couldn't be worse for his sons' careers. He has Lonzo under a microscope and people rooting against him, took away LiAngelo's free education and almost certainly ensured he'll never play in the NBA, and now will hurt LaMelo's development by not letting him play at UCLA. Look at how the last two American players that went overseas instead of college turned out.
I can already see the Ball family being a “NBA fad”... I see Lonzo being the only NBA worthy player, first off. However, I don’t think he will ever be good as his dad TRIED to advertise (although crazy things happen every day). LiAngelo is the most garbage and I always felt he had no shot to make it to the NBA although he probably will because of being a “Ball”. He will be in and out of the league in no time. I don’t think LaMelo even gets in to the NBA. His fundamentals are so shot out and now he literally has nobody in his corner that will actually help him improve and I believe by the time he gets to that age where he can get drafted, the “Ball” family name will have been torn down (what I mean by this is that people will finally stop believing all the hype Lavar spits out because proof says the Ball family just isn’t that good and people will have now seen that Lonzo was a lil fraud and LiAngelo was horrible) so skepticism about LaMelo’s ability and his dads reputation will turn teams away. Just my opinion but I strongly believe this is the projected path for Lavar and his sons. I see Parents all the time hype up their children for playing time and all that but most 99% of the time, the kid is never as good as the parent proclaims.
I like Phillys trade with Brooklyn... getting rid of Okafor (overrated, has good low post offense and literally, that’s it) and Stauska’s (didnt play, he is who he is at this point) and a 2nd rounder (I’ll miss this the most lol) for Trevor Booker who fills a need as a big 4 for us... I just wish we drafted Kristaps over Okafor... that’s my only hang up with this (big one too) Side note: I’m happy we traded him to an East team... now I get to watch Embiid destroy Okafor on both ends of the floor a bunch of times.
Nets get Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas (career 39% three point shooter), and a pick. That was a damn good trade by them. The Nets pretty much copy Houston's offense. Those 2 are about to put up some numbers.
They aren’t that good lol i have no idea how the public has formed this opinion if these scrubs... all I see is 1 proven NBA player (Booker) getting traded for 2 guys who helped Philly tank because of how bad they were... take em lmao
For as good as people claim Okafor to be, here’s some facts: 1)we couldn’t even get a second round pick from any team straight up for him 2) this guy conceded to the fact Embiid is better then him 3) his dad is a baby Lavar. 4) he doesn’t play defense (can’t wait to the look on Nets fans faces when they see this ****show) 5) all he has is low post offense. Oh and he’s a mediocre rebounder...
We will see. I thought getting Deangelo Russell was a robbery (even more after seeing Lonzo Ball against the Rockets). Getting Jahlil and a shooter for a role player was a really good trade. If Lin and Deangelo were healthy, I could see the Nets causing some problems in the east.
Ehhh, Booker has done way more in the NBA then both of these guys combined but to each their own. They are both players who weren’t good enough to play for Philly so I’m good. Just confused at how people view Okafor who is actually not a very good basketball player.
Another easy win. 19-4 overall 9-0 with CP3 Thank goodness we didn't trade Ryan Anderson. This dude has really stepped it up (5-6 from three, close to 45% from three on the season). *Also the Rocket hate from these TNT idiots is hilarious. Even, Daryl Morey is trolling the TNT crew on twitter for the obvious hating.
Harden with 24 last night in fantasy points... my man usually getting me 30 bombs but I’ll take it... #3 overall in fantasy scoring!!! Let’s get it
He let CP3 do most of the assisting. That's what hurt ya. Harden and Donovan Mitchell seemed to just go back and forth focusing on scoring on each other. *Side note: Donovan Mitchell is going to be a superstar very soon. He does not look like a rookie...sheesh
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21707827/nba-ryan-anderson-fire-chris-paul That's a nice article on ESPN talking about the Ryan Anderson/Chris Paul connection. Just from the eye test, I could tell they really play well together. But damn, Anderson is shooting 78% from three (21-28) off CP3 assists...wow. Since CP3 came back, everyone's 3 point percentage has gone nuts (except Eric Gordon). On the season: R. Anderson - 42% C. Paul - 42% L. Moute - 41% T. Ariza - 39% J. Harden - 40% P. Tucker - 38%
Okafor can still get buckets, but he's a huge spacing and defensive liability. I think being in Philly has shielded him from national attention on the fact that he's regressed from a strong rookie season. The average fan is just happy he got traded because of how Philly was railroading him.
He wasn’t being railroaded lol he was literally the 4th best Center on our team behind Embiid, Richaun Holmes and Amir Johnson and he can’t play PF so what was Philly supposed to do with him? He had a strong rookie season because we had nobody on the team but Robert Covington... he isn’t that good... point blank... Brooklyn fans AND NBA fans will come to the same conclusion soon enough, I have already witnessed how bad he is (I probably followed him a lot closer than everyone here) and I’m ecstatic we were finally able to trade him for something other then the bag of dorito offers we were getting. Coming away with Trevor Booker is a blessing for guys like Okafor and Stauska’s... I feel semi bad for Brooklyn that they took our “tanking” players but hey, it’s a business and Okafor has wierd hype around him. So that’s their fault. I love the pics you have of baby Lavar too. He’ll be wearing that shirt again except it will be black and silver/white this time.
Just saw Clint Capela currently leads the NBA in offensive rating (126.7) and defensive rating (97.2). He also ranks 13th in the NBA in win shares (Harden is #1). And, he has the 6th best PER in the league. https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2018_leaders.html Our skinny little center that backed up Dwight has grown up.
“I made sure to let him know, every year, 4 times, I’m gonna kick his ***” -Joel Embiid on Okafor This is fact and I can’t wait... we gave Embiid a feeding frenzy keeping him in the East.
Rockets down 14 points with 7 mins left in the game. Harden and CP3 go to work. Harden/CP3 finish the game with 74 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals, and 10 assists against the #2 defense in the NBA...lol 20-4 10-0 with CP3. Props to Lillard and Portland. What a game!
He's another low risk high reward trade. Booker is 30. Okafor is 21 iirc. Marks is betting that we can develop okafor's game better than Philly could. Atkinson is doing a great job so far of developing players. Stauskas also is young and has upside. You will like booker. This is one of those trades that's win win imo. You had no place for okafor. We can can give him the time to develop
Rockets look sustainable. Here’s to hoping they come out of the West this year instead of the spoiled frauds in Cali.
Finally, a reasonable assessment from a Brooklyn fan other than “he was #3 overall so he has to be good”... I’m very excited about Booker, I think Philly wants to see how good we can be with a traditional PF (Booker) vs a stretch PF (Saric)... and also, if it works out, Saric has nice trade value... I know what Philly is up to.. they don’t have me fooled lol
Booker is the type of player that become a a fan favorite. He's going to get you rebounds and can put a decent not great offensive game. The main thing he brings is grit and fight and hustle. He gives his all. I think Philly fans will enjoy his game. You always need a couple of guys like him on your team
Good point. He's also a great lockeroom presence. He will be well liked and respected by the other players
Rockets- 78 Pelicans- 76 Its only halftime. This game is so ridiculous. Rockets look lazy, but somehow still up. Our #5 defense is out the window.
God. Thomas is just killing us tonight. He' such a matchup nightmare but he can' t play to save his life.sorry wrong thread
Unbelievable...this team has no quit. Came back from being down 14 points. Clint Capela was the man tonight. He outscored Boogie 28-24. Harden playing on a bad calf dropped 26 pts and 16 assists (6 steals). CP3 and Eric Gordon combined for 47 points. Everyone contributed. 21-4 11-0 with CP3 Meanwhile the fraud mvp and his superteam just got blown out by Charlotte at home.
Harden has hacked and mastered modern offensive basketball. I don't think I've ever seen someone play like this, orchestrating everything flawlessly, making the right moves and counter-moves, making every right decision when it comes to balancing scoring and distributing. It's unreal. Meanwhile, BAM looks like a real keeper. We need to make a move that involves the front court pieces we have.
Harden is something else. Somehow he has gotten better. I didn't think it was possible. Its too bad it took so long for him and CP3 to link up. It has been a perfect match. Harden looked drained after the 3rd quarter, so CP3 just took over & dropped like 15 straight points in the 4th to get us the lead. Good for you guys that Bam is working out.
