Ah man this is going to come off wrong but i feel like this is just a witch hunt now. There is no standards for what constitutes someone feeling victimized. If someone has proof than that’s one thing but litterly lives families and careers are being destroyed based on something someone may or may have not intended as sexual. If these guys did make advances or try to abuse their positions than that’s one thing. I’m not unsumpathtic to the #metoo campaign but i’m pretty sure everyone is a victim to some degree. saying wow you look good to someone could be a compliment and to another it could be considered sexual harrasment. I believe we need some kind of proof before we ruin people’s lives. We live in a world where people love to be the victim and where political social and personal motivations are mainstream now. Again i’m not defending these guys but wondering how do you decide what constitutes harrasment?
The article says that three of them were sending sexually explicit text messages to her, so if they have the text messages, it shouldn't be hard to prove.
I think this is a pandemic, whether it is exaggerated or not. I have had quite a few jobs, and Ive seen it all, from flirting to sex to lunches to nooners to work wife to relationships. Speaking for men, I think this epidemic stems from them not having to deal with their wives for 8-10 hrs a day and seeing an easy way to get a fix. I think we will see more suits, and in the smaller mom and pop businesses, you're going to see ins rates get hiked to protect themselves. The business place will change very soon and who knows, maybe they'll make more money, being more productive than reproductive
http://heavy.com/sports/2017/12/jami-cantor-nfl-network-sexual-harassment-weinberger-faulk/ It's a little hard to believe that many people did that for that many years. In this modern age where lawsuits are filed even with no proof; I believe innocent until proven guilty still exists. She might be telling the truth, but I find it hard to believe that Faulk and McNabb were involved.
all of these douchebags are pathetic. They feel so entitled and think all the women should bend over because theyre an athlete or on TV. Good for the women for having higher standards than that.
also, I sent that link because I am shocked on how extensive and detailed it is. If these guys are on videos sent as a text, along with texts, it could lead to a domino effect on that station. You know if there is a party, Irvin is involved too lol
Garbage. Saying "you look nice" will not result in harassment problems. Saying "you have a nice ***, I'd like to **** you" will. It's not a witch hunt, so much as you now realizing what other people have to ****ing put up with. Proof is great, yes, and in THIS CASE there seems to be a fair amount of texts, videos, etc that corroborate this story. In other cases, it depends more on credibility. Unfortunately, your comments suggest not just a fundamental lack of understanding of sexual harassment and assault, but also an active hostility toward women who come forward without some kind of concrete proof, as if an *** grab is going to leave a mark long enough for an HR person to scrutinize. Read the above. Faulk and McNabb don't get the benefit of the doubt just because they played football good and seemed friendly. It is clearly apparent you did not read the articles either, as there does seem to be solid proof in these cases - thus the actual lawsuit. Innocent until guilty is a legal term and definition, and does not apply to workforce decisions around sexual harassment/assault/etc.
Amen. The vast majority of men who act like these sort of things are over reactions, are generally men who lack empathy. So here's a test for those guys, imagine a guy the size of Suh, did one of the following: A) told you, you were attractive OR B) grabbed your *** and told you how bad he wanted stick his dick in it ------------------------------ If you can't tell the difference between A & B, then you're lying and likely not wanting to confront your own behavior.
As the father of 4 girls it's frightening how some men treat women. I would NEVER even consider doing the things these "men" have done. I'm glad it's finally coming out and will hopefully change the culture. However, I feel sick for all the women over the years that felt as if they had to endure this in order to make a living....absolutely horrible.
I too am hoping this is a change in culture rather than a blip in the radar. Hearing stories of what my friends have had to endure is very sad. Hearing stories of women who have been raped multiple times to the point where it is normal is sad.
If the vast majority of women can all legit say, #metoo, then the problem is real. I don't think this will be a blip, I think this is a paradigm shift.
I was part of a meeting just yesterday concerning sexual harassment in the workplace. Some of the hospital administration are thinking that the medical field will soon be the next area where things start coming out. They are trying to be proactive and find a way to increase education on this subject. However, after working around medical professionals I can say with 100% certainty that 99% of physicians would be in trouble if their staff start talking. The OR is a cesspool of sexual harassment.
yeah I think this is a lot more rampant than we know. These large organizations, for lack of better words, have been exposed, but America is built on small businesses, and I'm sure it is there too. Insurance companies will make the money
According to the report, there are a number of men involved in this complaint, including individuals who no longer work at NFL network. Yet you choose to imply by the title that only Heath Evans was suspended. You obviously have your own agenda.
Heath the blowhard, self righteous, know it all is a perv after all huh? Not surprised, he just oozes the whole “my **** don’t stink, I know everything, everyone love me” persona
Even if that were true, that doesn't;t answer what i asked at all. Which means you're looking for any reason to *****, cry, attack, insult and/or generally fill your diaper about me. Which means you're harassing me.
I think pretty much any area where you have men with an elevated sense of status due to being rich, powerful and famous, you're going to have a percentage that are going to throw their weight around and try to use that status to obtain women, often women who aren't interested and often women whose jobs depend on the favor of these men.
I read the articles and the filing. I know the burden of proof in a civil case is not the same as a criminal case. I believe you have taken what I said out of context. If she has proof I hope they are held accountable. There should be criminal charges if what she stated is true unless the statute of limitations has run out.
I just have one question...has nothing to do with defending males or females. How can one female take "sexual harassment and sexual advances" from 6 guys at the same job? I know if she quits she can't sue. I think that's a stupid "rule." But if Monday Faulk is grabbing your ***, and on Tuesday he is again, why wasn't anything said to them? This is what is blowing my mind (nation-wide) about these cases. I am frustrated no one is complaining real time. I'm curious when Faulk started and the timing if it would have effected him getting into the Hall. Probably not
It is fear. It is fear of losing your job or violence or even being humiliated all over again by everyone questioning your motives. It is also conditioning. Virtually every woman has at one time or another been subjected to stuff like this. Females are conditioned form an early age to be pretty and submissive.
Another person that is not being mentioned is Warren Sapp. During her employment she worked in the men's restroom. Warren Sapp went into that restroom while she was preparing clothes and urinated in front of her. She screamed at him to get out, but Mr. Sapp laughed at her and said words I will not state here. Mr. Sapp also gave her sex toys as Christmas gifts three years in a row. The lawsuit is available online if anyone wants to read the horrible details. Sports Illustrated does mention Warren Sapp. https://www.si.com/tech-media/2017/...t-jami-cantor-lawsuit-faulk-mcnabb-weinberger
I agree on subjected. I disagree on conditioned. We are training for the past several years, that women should and could get any job. They have been empowered, because our society suppressed them. I also want to say that the law of averages makes some if these cases also BS. I was referring to this case in a way. I mean 6-7 guys, Im sure some in the same day? And it was extended. Im sure there is the possibilityshe saw $. And this has to be open discussion. We cant be afraid to accuse women of fshing for this vs being victims. It is sensitive but the timing of these cases can be 40 yrs old
Yeah, you're wrong. Women are absolutely conditioned from birth to be subservient to men, whether they are told they can have jobs or not. Hell, the pay gap between men and women for the same job is proof of that alone.
The medical field has had this issue for years. At all levels. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-03-07/sexual-harassment-rife-in-medical-profession-surgeon-says/6287994 https://abovethelaw.com/2017/09/sexual-harassment-of-medical-personnel-a-huge-problem/ https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/confronting-sexual-harassment-in-science/
