it is not enough said. There is a greater chance Thill comes back from injury and plays at the high level he was, then ANY rookie QB this year makes it in the Top 10 QB list. I get you don't like that, but that doesn't change reality. Dumb post for 3 reasons. - It didn't address a single thing I said. - It is factually inaccurate. - "Thill did his entire (sic) game"
When has he been a top 10 qb? Your argument is based on potential. It is the most useless argument ever.
Sigh. Pay attention. What rookie has more than potential? Also Thill was Top 10 after Turner and Thomas were cut.
Deshaun Watson did look incredible....but you'll also notice that he didn't finish the season. Ultra-agile dual threat QB's rarely last long in the NFL.
Rookies at this point that have played have more than potential. They have more than the potential of mediocrity Tannehill showed. Watson has way more potential
Ok, I'll take responsibility for this one. I meant rookie as in coming up in this draft. That was my fault. I apologize.
That's what I thought. I even deleted a reply about there being no QBs of Watson's caliber in this draft. Not your fault it was misconstrued.
I'd take Rosen, Darnold and Jackson over THill. That said, unlikely we are in position to draft one, and I wouldn't pull a crazy trade to get one. I would like some evidence on that. Wilson and Newton are thriving. Pocket QBs are getting hurt. It happens.
Well, Newton missed a good part of last season- he does look great this year though! I've never put Wilson in that super-mobile QB group but I guess he does belong there; I've thought of him more of an exception to the rule though. He's more of a super-elusive in the pocket guy than a pure runner. From my perspective though (and I could be wrong), almost every running QB seems to wash out due to injury or inaccuracy after a few seasons. Vick, Kaep, RG3 etc all had a great season or two, then they came tumbling back down to Earth. That's also been true for Newton....he's had some incredible seasons, and some middle of the pack ones.
so you are saying, that Tannehill's unknown potential post-injury is "known" by you, but the potential of this rookie class in 2018 is "less?" This isn't about 2018, it is about the future. Miami has a ton of holes in their personnel and really bad salaries. 2018 won't be a SB winning year. From what I read, this 2018 class is very talented and could be top heavy. But hey, you won't force feed me or other smart posters that Tannehill vs a rookie in 2018 is a done deal, that Tannehill will be better
That's still a fair amount to give up though, particularly the 1st next year, as we still have holes to fill with talent. Totally agree that we do have some salaries that we would like to shed/re-do but we can only get extra picks if there are players that are desirable to other teams.
Yes, that is what I'm saying. Thill has, in numerous NFL games, played at a Top 10 level. He's done it with it the current team and coaches. No rookie coming out in the draft can say that. The logic is clear and inarguable.....it is more likely Thill is a Top 10 QB than any rookie we could draft.
Whether you'd take one or not, the odds are significantly better Thill will be a Top 10 QB over those guys. Not saying they won't be, just talking about odds. Thill has actually done it, these guys could all bust.
No rookie could say that? You think Phily, LA or Hou cared? Of course no college qb could say that? What kind of answer is that? You are desperate Also Tannehill is not a season ending top 10 qb. Sure anyone can be top 10 in a given week but he has shown more inconsistency than consistency. He was bailed out w a run game last year. By your posts you feel it slipping away dont you? Lol.
He has done it in how many starts? Lets do that and dont skew numbers. Qb rating, isnt that your top 10 benchmark? Im sure you will rig the stats. Funny that no one here believed he was or is or will be a top 10 qb. What are you scared of? Miami has plenty of options at qb this offseason and designed his contract so they could cut him in 2018. Speaking of bust, Tannehill is one.
It is not desperate. People keep talking about how "unsure" we should be about Thill and that we should draft a QB. I'm merely explaining that Thill is more of a sure bet to be Top 10 QB than anyone we can draft. That is simple fact. Thill played at a consistent Top 10 level after Turner and Thomas were cut. Go from the Pitt game till he got hurt. Average out his qb rating from those games, then compare them to the QBs that year. I'm guessing you'll be shocked.
You are spiraling out of control and throwing out bizarre accusations again. Just stop and be a human being. - He's done it over numerous starts in his career, including a significant run last year after they fixed the oline by cutting Turner and Thomas. Fact. - I didn't skew anything. Fact. - I didn't rig anything. Fact. - Numerous people agree with me. Including the team and people who deep dive analysis of Qbs that you could never do. Fact. - What the **** are you talking about....scared? Seriously, wtf? - Thill will be a dolphin in 2018 and the starter (barring injury). Fact. - Sure he is.
How many games has he been a top 10 qb? What rating is your definition of top 10? You seem to be just throwing a stat out there. Tannehill has started over 64 games plus right? How many times was he top 10 and how many times did he finish top 10?
I gave you a starting point. You won't do anything with it. That isn't my problem. Let's be honest, people have done this numerous times....they've showed you data, video, stats, logic, etc. and you react the same EVERY time. You spiral, insult, be crazy, scoff, etc. No evidence will convince you, because none of the ample evidence provided has. So why keep asking for more evidence?
Yeah? If Tannehill starts and Gase is still head coach next season how about you stop posting here for 6 months?
5 years. Once they hit 27 the quick twitch muscles that made them so escapable start to deteriote. By 30 they are michael vick. Straight line runners with no accuracy
is this the same guy that passed for over 420 last year against Bama and only had 43 yards rushing. Looks pass first to me. And in 2015 passed for another 405 and ran for 73.
NEVER TELL ME THE ODDS! Seriously though, I get where you are coming from, but then look at Goff and Wentz. I cannot see many, if any, GM's picking THill over those guys. THill may be the safer option, but I don't see him as the best option. Again, that would assume we are in position to pick one - I don't think we are in the need boat enough to devote multiple high round picks to a QB. Ultimately, until THill is either not a Dolphin, or has a full, consistently good with a very generous dash of great season there will and should be debate on him.
no way if all those guys were rookies, Thll would be selected over them. he was a stretch at 8 and is still a project
I said this in another post and was met with objection I wont name any names, buts its not a perspective more dual threats show out then get hurt and wash out more than win super bowls and have 10+ year successful careers.
No. If he balls out against Clemson and/or the winner of the other game I might change my mind, but I am not a fan. Hugely overrated putting up stats in a garbage Big 12.
he plays Georgia, Clemson plays bama he would only see Clemson and bama if he gets past Georgia. he is the best passer in my opinion along with falk from wash st, I have season tickets to ucla and rosen is going to be a bust unless he gets behind and amazing qb coach and they pamper him event then I don't see it, he has a strong arm but just like darnold he is over shadowed by play makers, darnald is just another usc qb who will wash out in the pro's besides palmer in the last 20 years what usc qb has succeeded?.....0 unless you call the butt fumble succeeding lol
