Yea I don't think he would be very popular on here. The problem I see is gases ego will be the problem that eventually gets him fired. How many times was the ball forced to julious thomas who looks like a basketball center on crack to prove he made the right choice in signing him.He couldn't see in training camp this guy had nothing left?
Disagree on Timmons. I thought he was one of our better players this year on D. Hard to hate the Ajayi trade too and I don't think Drake would have developed the way he did if not for letting go of Ajayi. That trade will look better in a couple years I think.
Timmons who is 84th in tackles is one of our better D players? Wow. http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/defense/sort/soloTackles/qualified/false/count/81
That story is very much on target. The team tried to address nearly all of its weaknesses from last year, and every one of those attempts failed. And that says nothing about the disappointing year from Devante Parker.
Actually no, its not. Its considered a valid argument, backed up by actual logic and facts. All, that most on here expect, when someone is trying to make a point. Whether others agree or disagree does not matter. Right or wrong, back up what you think. Ridiculous take that the people in charge here do not allow opinions that differ, ridiculous.
With Parker being hurt/useless, Thomas became the 3rd option by default. The real story/tragedy here is what the hell is wrong Leonte Carroo that he can't seem to become a viable 3rd or even 4th option at this point.
I know and what to did we give up to get him?Bad moves everywhere but typical dolphin moves.Different faces but same results.
Is that crying from laughing too hard or just sad crying? My guess is that its from laughing too hard. Hard to imagine that people actually watched what some posters did daily and feel that they were banned because they were negative....but they do. Let alone things that probably happened behind the scenes(probably is being too kind). And can some please stop with the tired old phrase that people are fine with "mediocrity". Its lame, weak and totally not true. Especially for some who have been around the great times, the good times and the bad times
There were time where players like Timmons and Cutler played really well. I’m not going to give Tunsil a pass, but he’s no turnstile and will get it. I think it’s upstairs. Penalties and such are mental errors. He’s super talented and will only get better. The Burke thing? Sure, I can see his gripe. This defense, more so than any Dolphin team I have seen in the past, feeds off what the offense does. There are some holes, for sure. But there are some bright spots. I think that player development is good. I’m pleased with how some of the drafted players are playing. The signing of veterans to fill holes has Tannebaum written all over it. That’s kind of his modus operandi. I’m not against signing vets, I just wish Miami paid less for them. I still like Kiko, and I still like Timmons. I like some of the younger guys, too. The season sucked. But you don’t beat teams like Atlanta and New England and totally suck. The glue isn’t quite there yet. I don’t know if it’s coaching, etc. But this team has talent on the field and talent in coaching. Miami did deal with a lot, from having to play 16 games in a row to having the snort-gate thing. They also gave up a home game. Offensively and defensively, this team has talent. We’re pretty good on STs. We’ll see next year how much Tannehill means to this team. I suspect it’s a whole lot, but I’m willing to wait and see. I’m not pleased with the season, but I understand how things happen. I just hope this staff, and the players, realize this as well.
I agree with you on stopping the talk that people are happy with mediocrity. No one on here is happy about the state of this team. If we're going to stop that though, the posters on here that accuse other posters of being fans of other teams when they criticize the dolphins needs to stop. Its only fair, right?
It absolutely amazes me how impatient everyone has become. So many of you are prone to these ridiculous knee-jerk reactions and there's absolutely no basis for any of it. Ross didn't hand over a frozen banana stand to Gase. He handed over huge failing enterprise. Guess what? It takes more than a couple years to fix a culture that's been on the decline for the better part of two decades. It's impossible to plug every hole at once, especially in today's NFL where the best case scenario is two steps forward, one and a half steps back. Promoting Burke to DC was NOT a bad decision. This is the ultimate knee-jerk reaction. The talent on our defense this year was horrible, and even our formerly good players are ageing poorly. Burke didn't tell our defense to miss tackles. He's a smart, young coach and having a guy like that is NEVER a bad decision. Jay Cutler was NOT a bad decision. We saw very clearly he is better than Matt Moore even at his worst. Tannehill getting hurt sucked, but there were not better options and Cutler was the devil Gase knew. Moving Tunsil was NOT a bad decision. Hyde is a complete moron for criticizing this move based purely on Tunsil's pre-snap penalties. He has enormous amounts of talent and it was a great move drafting a guy who was rated much higher than where we got him simply because everyone was scared of a little Mary Jane. Hyde seems to imply that the Dolphins are stupid for giving Philly the ammo necessary to grab Wentz. Well, by that token all 31 other teams are equally as stupid for not trading their entire draft for Wentz. Hyde also says that all of our decisions were bad, but then glosses over the fact that Hayes and Parkey were good adds, and the trade of Ajayi was freaking brilliant in hind sight given the fact that Drake is a stud. Hyde is a moron and anyone who falls for this drivel has the patience or three year old. Grow up. The world doesn't revolve around your epic lack of an attention span.
"Let’s spin the wheel and start with promoting Matt Burke to defensive coordinator. The Dolphins gave up 23.7 points a game last year, invested heavily on the defense and got worse this year. They gave up 24.6 points a game. They dropped from 18th to 28th in the league in the heavyweight stat." Wow I'm surprised that this is a big deal, you had one of Miami's worse D's in terms of yardage last year under the god awful VJ, who by the way has sunk the Donkies to a new low, then we took the leader of the worse unit on the D and made him DC, really what did you expect. I agree we should have never given Kiko to that contract, he's been absolutely one of the worse LB'ers on this team. TD after TD have been his fault, but once again, he was never good but put a Dolphin uniform on him and some around here think he's the best... Gas Mask should be playing LG, he's either too lazy or too stoned to put out the effort it takes to play LT. Don't be too hard on Gase, you have to remember he made PM and JC...LOL, yea right Good read on the article, why we are where we are....
Damnit Ricky, you know as soon as a bad player puts on a Dolphin uniform he's automatically a great player, get your head out of your arse.....
Are you insane? Our defense has been pathetic. Absolutely horrid. He's the DC. How is it not his problem if the D misses tackles, can;t get tot he QB and very rarely gets a turnover? How is that not on him? Who should that be on? Noone? We just suck? That's not an answer. There is no accountability. If we play great we're awesome and all on the sideline are geniuses. But in your world when it goes wrong that's just bad luck? These are professional coaches getting paid very well. Want to get paid well to win? Well you also need to be held accountable when your area sucks the big one! Burk's D has allowed us to be outscored 371-264. Yeah. He's amazing.
You could not be more correct. No reason to be impatient.2 playoff apperances in 16 years with 2 wildcard blowouts is total acceptable. The fans should be ashamed to expect anything more. 1.Burke coached one the worst lbs groups in the league last year. 2.I don't argue with the cutler signing. 3.Tunsil as hyde pointed out had lead high in presnap pentalies. All world like we were lead to believe so far not so much.I thought he played well at guard last year but hopefully he will improve at LT next year. 4.We were stupid as I pointed out when the trade went down.I didn't like maxwell or alonzo and the eagle fans around here laughed at me when it happended.Howie *****ed us. 5.Hayes was one of the best edge run defenders in the league and I really don't care about kickers but parkey was fine. I do think drake is the better back.
Back to what I've been saying, he's wearing a Dolphin shirt, so he must be great, no questions asked....
Some Dolphins fans won’t even be alive next year but we are always told “have patience”.... Nah bro, patience went out the door back in ‘98. Win a ******* playoff game already. Get a franchise QB already. Hot ****. Tired of hearing the word “patience”. A girl once broke up with her man and I asked her out but she told me to have patience and we would go out on a date eventually, 4 months later she was pregnant in a committed relationship. Patience is for losers and those that have no plan.
If I hand you a bucket with holes in it, it's going to be really hard for you to carry water. Who should I blame for spilling all the water? You or the bucket? Burke was also the DC for our recent win over the scumbags from New England. We pounded Brady's face in all game. He couldn't get out of South Beach fast enough. So, who's responsible for that?
This is exactly the type of knee-jerk garbage I'm talking about. First of all, Gase has only been here for two years and in those two years we've already been to the playoffs once. He has shown that with his system we can win football games and challenge for a playoff spot. Also, lest we not forgot we were once again with out our starting QB in that playoff loss. It's completely ridiculous to jump off the bridge because we had a bad season after such devastating injuries. If teams reacted that quickly after one bad season then Eli Manning wouldn't have two Super Bowl rings. You simply can not go into every season willing to fire everyone at the first sign of trouble. We are on the right track and we need to stop trying to light everything on fire every year.
Explain to me how 7-9 or 6-10 is the right track? You tell me tannehill or not how this team got better from last year with these stupid moves from the offseason.I am waiting for an answer to tell me this team is trending up.I don't want to hear about beating the pats because philbin did it 3 times. This team was smoke in mirrors last year with weak schedule and luck.As for injuries every team deals with injuries.
If all you do is disregard the positives from this year and last or chalk them up to to the super in-depth and meaningful "mirage" or some other nonsense....what exactly are you willing to hear besides your already held belief?
I have heard this same **** for how many years? And he here we are again back in the timeloop soon to be 7-9.Sound familar?
Gase has misused Drake and Grant since last year. He still was using Williams until he was injured. He was forced to finally use Drake like a featured back. It's about bloody time. Drake put in the work to become a top 10 RB. He should be used that way. Gase is starting to look like Wannstedt and not the football genius some believe he is. He has had several lucky breaks make him look good. I don't kinow if he indeed drafted Drake and Grant now. If he did; he has been too cautious with both. I would give Drake 20 to 30 touches a game. Grant 5 to 8. It was a ridiculous waste of explosive talent until now. There is hope. He does get the idea at some point. Have a nice day.
I agree with the free agent moves being terrible, but not the draft. Zach Cunningham should have been drafted instead of McMillan, but I did like Raekwon if Zach was not there. Tunsil will be fine at guard or right tackle.
And fans absolutely are in control, without fans, there is no NFL. We are the ones paying the players. Now my team needs to get its **** together.
To quote Sy Robertson (something I've been doing a lot of lately), "That bucket is a piece of junk!" But it's not the bucket's fault or the guy carrying the water, it's your fault for giving him a broken bucket to begin with. That brings us to the real question- who gave Gase the darn bucket in the first place? Ross? Ireland? Philbin? I feel like we're really close to a breakthrough moment here...
Uhhh again, let me ask you a question. If the NFL has zero fans, does it exist? How are the owners paying the players? Who is watching anyways? Think.... Think....
We were 10-6 before we lost our starting QB to two bad injuries. Nobody on here likes seeing the Dolphins lose. Everyone wants the same thing you want. We're just not overreacting and throwing a temper tantrum.
Uhhh...we traded Ajayi because we knew Drake was the real deal. They did not misuse him. They were trying to limit his snaps to keep him healthy.
