More importantly when he is top 10 he is barely in there. Sure, I want him to just come out swinging next year and prove all the doubters wrong. But I think everyone's point is that we don't want a #10 QB. We want an ascending QB that will become one of the best in the game. That ain't T-Hill. Love the guy. Great heart, great passion, smoking hot wife. What's not to like. I wish I were T-hill and you know you do too. But with that said, we're going into year 6 of the Tannehill project. Sure, he's gotten better each year. I give him that. I'm sure that's taken a lot of butt busting work. But let's get real. It's time for some competition and to have an actually decent QB roster. We need to move up and take Mayfield or Rosen or whoever (to even deem who we should move up to and grab pre-combine is silly but we need to grab one of the top qubes) and put a fire under Tannehills butt. Now et T-Hill compete and be starter next year but he needs to know we're ready to move on if he doesn't start lighting the world on fire. Does anyone think we wouldn't benefit from this? I mean really? We need to make the moves to get to having a consistent probowl QB on this team. #10 ain't it and Tannehill isn't even #10...

If his threads weren't negative, they were pure low quality...or both. Every since day I would wake up, log on and find yet another thread started by him...

    Thread title...[[Insert NFL Player name]]

    Thread body...should we sign him?

We first off, I'm not fluent with every single NFL player in the league but when you start a thread just like that...and provide nothing in the body of the thread except that, it causes posters like me who try to take the time and post a quality thread with links and excerpts and articulate a position based on said links and excerpts to simply roll my eyes and ignore it all together.

This site was always about quality, not quantity and he himself was a self admitted thread whore which screamed nothing but "look at me, look at me"

That's just how I feel about that and it breaks my heart none that he's gone.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe the low traffic is due to certain posters starting conversations every single day around, "Gase sucks, the team sucks, everyone sucks, and that gives me the right to ignore rules and personally attack people here." While you look at it as one person banned, others see it as one nuisance that's chased away countless others with his never-ending arguments and babble.

Just one other thing- what do you think the word "loyalists" means? Because if you're loyal to ThePhins.com, then that means you follow the rules and try to make this forum better for everyone involved. When all some people do is pick fights and rant about other people's opinions though, they're just being loyal to themselves and screwing the board over in the process. That's the definition of a troll...and trolls certainly aren't loyalists.

Plain and simple, this is a Miami Dolphins football forum. It should be fairly obvious that people come here to talk about football games. I don't think DirtyLandry referenced a football play this entire year across his thousands of posts. In fact, I'd bet you $100 that he said Fin D's name this season more than he said any/every Dolphin player's name on the roster.

But you call him a "loyalist"? No my friend...he wasn't loyal to anything or anyone that didn't involve harassing people he didn't like here.

That’s not at all why he was banned. He was banned because he couldn’t follow the terms of service like most others do. I don’t understand why that’s a challenge.

This isn’t about being anti-Tannehill and you know that. You’ve read my own posts advocating challenging if not replacing Tannehill. Others have said the same. CIF, Dan and Dirty were all banned for reasons relating to behavior regarding the terms of service after well over a dozen chances. This isn’t rocket science. You can disagree with people and still act civil.

Secondly, bigness was never our strength...quality was. It was that way before and it will be that way again.

If you see something, I’ve encouraged people to report it, not respond to it or instigate it. Always have. It’s virtually impossible to read through every thread as myself and the other staff members work and like everyone else I’m human....I’m generally going to click on topics that interest me.

While you’re right, when people don’t want to post or come to the site because of a poster or group of posters that’s a problem. When said poster(s) can’t follow the terms of service that’s a problem that has to get resolved. We gave him time to correct the behavior, tried to encourage him to do so with PM’s before even issuing an infraction. That someone doesn’t care to respond or even try to fix the issue, well then the problem has to go.

Ok, I’ll resolve this once and for all...there is no other Dirty Landry account. He tried re-registering and was banned by the security system before even posting. You are not Dirty, Big Balla, RickyIsABeast are not Dirty. If that’s not enough, the posting habits, the style of writing are different.

Dualy noted, I will send it over to the staff forum for discussion and we will see how the site admin and others feel about it. Is this something you (and everyone else) feels will help?

I think the biggest thing that would help would be to give the folks that hate everything about this team their own sub-forum to rant away to their heart's content. The problem was never their opinions....it was the 3-5 daily threads about the identical topic and bashing anyone that felt differently. If those types of posters had their own section, then it gets all that hate off the mains and EVERYONE wins. If they want to rant away at how horrible this team is and how everyone needs to be fired, they can have at it within their own little community. Meanwhile, the mains can return to talking about football as we see it each week on the field.

I suggested this about six weeks ago in the suggestion area, but unfortunately I don't think any mods read it very frequently.

I know I was an "early adopter" of this idea, and it's quite possible that Ricky just happened to log in within a minute or two of Dirty logging out on almost a daily basis. When you look at their time logs for Nov/Dec there are dozens of instances where one posts, the other makes their first reply of the day within 1 minute, and then the first poster doesn't comment again until the other one logs out. I could see if they were real-life friends or something like that and texting each other saying, "reply to my thread real quick to piss off Fin D!" But they've repeatedly said that isn't the case.

The "fireadamgase.com" was the thread that really got me wondering about that because Dirty posts and within 2-3 minutes, Ricky, Dan and others are all talking about how smart Dirty is. It just felt fake as hell....who logs in, goes straight to someone's post and starts praising them? That's when I took a look at the logs and noticed a pattern- Dirty logs in at 5 AM, posts for hours and then one of Dirty's "friends" show up right as he logs out. Then once they stop posting, look....Dirty's back!

I watched this pattern for eight weeks. And several of the other banned accounts appeared to post right along in sync with Dirty.

Also, remember that I write for a living and train aspiring writers as a hobby. I pay VERY CLOSE attention to words and several of the posters here in the Dirty camp do have the same tendencies for reversing letters, using commas in the wrong place and never capitalizing the first word of each sentence. Another coincidence? Maybe...but there sure are a lot of coincidences here.

I'm saying this out in the open because if you want to squash this, let's squash it. But at the same time, we also need to squash those members bringing up Dirty in every other post. He was banned for legit reasons and whether others are him or not, constantly bringing it up is not a Miami Dolphins topic. Attacking people directly is still against the rules.

All most of us here want is a level playing field where the rules apply to everyone...yet after a four-day pause, it's suddenly like Dirty never left. And wouldn't you know it...all these voices show up within the same hour on the same day...after disappearing for four full days! Still a coincidence? Maybe. It's impossible to tell these days with TOR networks, wireless connections and various IP-hacking tools. Like I said earlier though, if some folks here want to worship him, just give them their own sub-forum and let 'em have at it. Dirty has ruined the mains long enough though and this needs to stop.

The first part of the post they have already...its called Rants and its at the top of the page.

As far as the rest of it, i addressed it with you via PM multiple times. Unless youre better at IT than 3PMI you will have to trust the research thats been done. Theres also features where you can view most recent posts and track replies to comments or track specific threads.

Ok we'll start with the top part. So, if you disagree with how our team with another losing season is doing we need to go into the basement? Bullcrap. Maybe conversely we need to create a section of the site to allow for unrealistically optimistic unicorn fart and Leprechaun kiss threads. I mean just try to snag a little reality while you dance with the we're going to go 16-0 next year pixies. IT'S A DOLPHINS SITE!!!! THE DOLPHINS SUCK! THATS CURRENT AND WORTH DISCUSSING. WE WANT TO SUCK LESS AND WANT TO EXPLORE HOW TO DO THAT!!!

So, because Dirty and I actually agreed with each other and responded to each other near the same time, we're now suspiciously the same guy? Dude come the F on. Get a life. You're living in a total fantasy world that anyone cares so much to go onto this forum and go through all of that. I've talked to Dirty on the phone. He ain't me. He doesn't even live on the same coast as me. But, if you want to keep running that one to ground you knock yourself out. What do you do for real life? Are you out chasing the Skunk Ape or writing blogs about contrails and Area 51?

Again, this is all you seem to do here...say that everyone sucks and brag about how you're in love with Dirty. It's sweet and all but it's not talking football.

As far as exploring how to get better, when have you ever done that? Fire Gase. Okay, and who do we hire? What specific mistakes did he make? Fire Tannenbaum. Okay, who do we hire there? That would be a Miami Dolphins discussion but you don't ever do that. Your posts are just constant generic complaining and attacking others who don't agree. You never, ever seem to reference plays on the field or what's actually happening in games...and that's somehow talking about football? I'm sorry but it's not.

Making things up isn't talking football either. I never said we're going 16-0 next season. Yet somehow anyone here that wants the team to win is "unicorn fart and Leprechaun kiss"? I don't know what that means but as usual, you'd rather ignore the site's rules and attack people instead of talking about Miami Dolphins football. And you wonder why you keep getting timeouts.

Again though, it all goes back to you starting this thread in the Miami Dolphins discussion area to profess your love for Dirty. If you didn't want to have this conversation, then you should have followed the site's rules and posted it in the appropriate place.

When you have a team that has been below average as a whole for 20 years, you are going to have angry jaded fans. It is part of the deal.

I haven't read enough of anyones posts to see if they were being angry in a disrespectful manner or not so I can'r speak to that.

However, this team has earned the negative approach some may have towards it....not everyone deals with mediocrity the same and shouldn't be punished for having a negative outlook on this team.

And it's NE, so I would probably agree with them. But the other 31 teams know that the Pats bend rules as much as possible and I can't see San Francisco being that stupid...they'll lock up a contract well before free agency starts for 2018. Jimmy G is going to be a top five paid QB in the very near future.

Whatever your feelings on the team, you still have to follow the ToS. If you're told you aren't, and refuse to change, then it's on you if you get banned.

I cant imagine an NFL team would trade a draft pick for a player - for half a year- they have no intention of going all out to keep. Unless its a "win now" situation and thats not the 49ers current mindset.
