Thank you Lord............finally Now bring in Wade Phillips type to divide the responsibilities and give Gase a chance to catch his breath. Gace has never learned long term from a seasoned veteran coach who knows his place.
Article - https://dolphinswire.usatoday.com/2...assive-changes-are-in-store-for-the-dolphins/ - reads: "The Miami Dolphins traded star receiver Jarvis Landry to the Browns on Friday afternoon, but that could be the first of many moves to come for the team. Miami will likely release Julius Thomas and Lawrence Timmons before the start of the NFL new league year to free up more cap room. They’re also expected to rescind right tackle Ja’Wuan James fifth-year option. There’s also a chance the Dolphins could release five-time Pro Bowler Ndamukong Suh. According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, releasing Suh was at least “under consideration.” Now that the Dolphins could have a load of money to spin in free agency, they could be significant players the first day of free agency. Although trading Landry and releasing Thomas, Timmons, and James will create holes, the team now has the money to not only replace those players but also address other areas on the team such as guard and another running back. The Dolphins also add another draft pick (fourth rounder) they received from the Browns as a result of the Landry trade. So the team now has five draft picks in the first four rounds. Because the team finished 6-10 last season, the Dolphins felt like it is time to make massive changes. 2018 will be a critical year for head coach Adam Gase, and the Dolphins know they need to win now by any means necessary." And Michael Lombardi tweeted that the Phins are going to "clear out their locker room" and try to "create a better culture", that Landry was just the start.
Thank you. I have the same problem. Haven' seen a tweet on this site in like 3 months. I don't know what happened but it' driving me nuts.
We can’t clean out the locker room .... our CAP won’t allow it. We can ‘fix’ things after the ‘19 season, but not before ....
If they cut Suh just to save 4 million...I won't even bother with the NFL anymore. It's just not worth watching a bunch of monkeys assemble a football team.
Doubt they will do that this year, but will really suck if the dline makes strides this season and Suh opens up opportunities for Harris and Quinn but they still have to let him go.
Thomas and Timmons are the opposite of massive change. Suh getting released this year would be a shock, but it' hard to see as it presents minimal savings. Unless he is a big malcontent, what's the point? I can't think of any other BIG changes that would rock us. Would it be a stunner if Tanny is cut or traded? Not to me. Maybe Reshad Jones trade?
I'm highly against releasing Suh and James although I understand the logic behind both. They're figuring that there wasn't a huge drop-off when James went down hurt so he's expendable....even though he was statistically our best lineman last year. I personally think that's stupid logic since it's so darn hard to get a great line on the field. As for Suh, I've always been against his contract BUT with bringing in Quinn and making this a make/break year, I think it's dumb to let him walk when we really don't save anything by doing it. Part of that is how we've already restructured him though to save short term and make the back end a lot less attractive.
Dropping Suh next offseason is a reasonable savings I think, much better than now. I don't see how letting go now makes us better or opens opportunity to do so, barring him being a malcontent behind closed doors. James ... just depends on if they feel his health is reliable I think. They do need a clear plan to replace him though if we go that direction. I don't think either way would shock.

I would like to see us draft a center if we are trying to get younger and more dependable on our OL.

That last part about needing to win now has been our problem under Ross. This mentality that we’re 2-3 players away is nonsense we’re 10-15 players away. We got holes and depth problems across the board and while Ross doesn’t want to admit we are in need of more because he doesn’t want fans to stop showing up because we are rebuilding the fact is we need to. Yes bribing in some big player is sexy but I’m not sure I trust this front office to bring in the right ones honestly. They like injured recoveries for lower pay and hope it works out. They honestly need a DE, 2 LB, Offensive Guards a new center, RB, Corner and safety, and if you lose SUH you need to address the dline because he usually is double teamed We also need another quarterback.
Dianna RussiniVerified account @diannaESPN Dianna Russini Retweeted Cameron Wolfe Avery Williamson was offered a 4 year, 12 million dollar deal from the Titans. He turned it down. Told the Jets and Dolphins are interested per source. (More background from @CameronWolfe below)
Interesting considerations from Mando - assuming the Dolphins want to add veteran OL leadership he's had a guess as to who might fit that bill this year... take a look: "The Dolphins, I’m told by a source familiar with the team’s plan, have identified a veteran free agent offensive lineman they want to add not long after free agency begins. I have no idea who this player is. I know it’s not Carolina guard Andrew Norwell. It’s not that Norwell isn’t good or isn’t a leader. It’s just that Norwell is, as I reported Monday morning, the best guard expected to hit the free agent market and he is going to get paid crazy money sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning... It suggests the Dolphins are looking at a player they’re familiar with. You cannot identify a player as a leader and someone who improves team culture if you don’t have intimate knowledge about how that player acts within the confines of team meetings and the team facility. So I have to believe this is a player Dolphins offensive coaches know very well. That means this player possibly played for Gase before, either in Denver, or Chicago. Or played for offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, either in Tennessee from 2012-13 or Cleveland in 2014 or Chicago from 2015-2017. The other possibility is this player played for offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn in Detroit, either last year or from 2009-15... So beyond that I went looking for available free agents from Denver, Chicago, Tennessee, Detroit that fit the criteria. Remember, he’s an experienced offensive lineman who is also a leader and won’t be too expensive to sign in free agency. My top candidate is guard Josh Sitton, who is available because the Chicago Bears declined to pay him an option for 2018, making him a free agent. Sitton played for Loggains the past two seasons. He played well by all accounts. He’s a leader by all accounts. He’s been to the Pro Bowl four times, in 2012 and 2014-16. He played both left and right guard. And, oh lookie here, he’s a Florida kid. He’s a native of Jacksonville who now lives in Pensacola. He attended Central Florida. The only thing that give me pause is he’ll be 32 years old in June... Anyway, this search points me to Sitton ... which, of course, means it will be someone else. I don’t know. I’m not reporting this. I’m merely connecting dots. More dots leading to other possible targets? Sorry, it’s way too late. This Sherlock stuff is a grind. You do some of the work in the comments section, Watsons. Connect the dots and come up with possibilities." Anyone have any thoughts?
Omg...you definitely just changed my life! Lol. I was stuck in tweet jail. With free agency news and trades galore, I was blind...but now I see. I use my android to browse this forum everyday, but the concept was still the same as Firefox. Thanks man.
Great assessment Think there is alot more going on here then just that. For me It's it starts at quarterback. Hell when Danny was here we knew we could win any game at any given time. There was fear there - fear that doesn't exist with Ryan. The roster needs an almost complete rework - which begs the question - because it will be necessary to do correctly - do we sacrafice and go 4 - 12 , 5 - 11 for several season to build the foundation with young servicable players Or do we keep doing the dolphin thing and try to plug and play? Obviously it doesn't work we've been doing it for 20 years. No complete tear down has happened. I hate talking this way and I don't have enough knowledge about the current roster to make those decisions. Maybe some others can add some input
For the older generation " Warning, Warning, Will Robertson ".......lol Holes in Dolphins for decades have finally sunk the boat....ITS OVER....and that ship is now resting on the bottom.. Sadly see the FO rowing away in life raft....
