I did this last week and found that Pennington clocked in with a putrid 104.5 QB Rating against the Jags. So how did he fare this week? He did slightly better with a rating of 111.5. Okay, but we will really need better play from our quarterback if we are going to win any games this year.
He'll always have good numbers if he keeps up his accuracy. Chad has never been an INT machine either so that'll help him produce a nice number.
I knew it was a long time but twice in the last 5 years and 6 years of no back to back 100 QB ratings???? OUCH! The position has been neglected for far too long
I think it has been apparent the stability he has brought to the team since he arrived. Very steady and consistent. Did I just say that about a Dolphin QB? Man it feels good to go into a season with some stability at the QB position. Another great pickup by the Front Office.
Still hard to say Pennington and Fins in the same breath, but I'm getting used to it.. He certainly is something that we haven't had here since Danny...a real, bona fide NFL-quality quarterback... Here's to him and the rest of the Fins holding out physically during the year...
His leadership has brought the Phins Offense up to NFL standards. He has accelerated most peoples expectations of how fast the offense would be competitive.
I honestly didn't think I'd get used to seeing Pennington on our team. Now he is looking great out there and has won me over. GO CHAD!
Its amazing how a change in uniform can improve a quarterbacks abilities and stature. When Pennington was in a Jets uniform he was a noodle arm, an injury machine, etc, etc. Its really something how much he has improved since putting on a Dolphins uniform.
I don't know man half this thread is talking about how much better he is with his arm than they thought. Figured I would change it up.
Those aren't too bad. He's never finished a season with more picks than TD's (excluding 05 whe he only played 6 games). Your current QB has the single season and all-time record for picks. Better hope he doesn't have an '05 repeat
My only concern is his last two years, his INT number has crept up towards his TD number. Well that's not my only concern, but one of them
The INT's don't worry me too much. The guy rarely turns the ball over in the red zone. We should also have a much better running attack than the Jets have had the last 2 seasons.
Saw that coming. Yes that guy who played longer than Marino to break his records. I think Favre will have a decent year. Albeit he doesn't have anywhere near the receivers in NY as GB, but 3800 yds and 24-28 TD's isn't out of the question. And yes, if Chad stays healthy he'll have a solid season. Week one should be a damn fine game.
Wow. I didn't realize he had it in him. I thought we were stuck with QB ratings in the 73 to 79 range. I have to say the Dolphins may make me eat my words. I have a bet that we would be picking in the top 5 in next years draft. I guess that would be a bet well worth loosing. I see a lot of good things happening with a lot of new names. This is gonna be an exciting year for us. No matter what the total win, loss column looks like.
Hey, I am a Penny fan. It pains me to see him in teal and orange. The same guy you are now touting as having the best comp. % is also the same guy you said had that for 2 yard passes.
Ahhhh....what do you know? You're just a Jets fan. I'm just kidding. You are right. Me and a lot of other people here all thought he had little to no talent left. I was thinking he just had too many shoulder surgeries. I guess he is making the best out of it and trying to prove us all wrong. I hope he does. He's doing a good job so far. PS That's aqua and orange. Try to get it right next time.
