Love this pick, and first two picks. First time in a long time that I can say that.

Great 1st and 2nd round picks. Gesiski is a freak athlete with so much potential.

Finally we have a legit BIG TIME TE! This will help the offense soooooo much!

Now go get a LB trade up and grab one or two!

I'm okay with this pick. I wanted Dallas Goedert but I'm biased towards TEs who can block. Gisecki is a scheme TE who hopefully fits our scheme or what Gase wants our scheme to be. I wonder if they'll even bother trying to teach him up on blocking

I do not think there is any hopefully. He first. He is the type of tight end Miami has been looking for since Gase has became coach. First one who is not washed up and overpaid.

Has all the talent to be a top tight end. One thing i dont like is that he plays too upright... dont want guys undercutting his legs. He is gonna have to learn to use his back better to shield off defenders. I dont want him getting into too many jump balls with linebackers diving at his legs

I don't think he'll be catching shovel passes here in Miami. Hoping he takes the pressure off those failed WR screens we like to call so much.

If he's 1-on-1 in the seam I throw it every time.

Really like this pick. He is great at going up over defenders and high pointing the ball. Ohhh, such a need. He makes the receiving group so much more dynamic. Love the basketball and oddly enough, the volleyball back round. Always liked TEs with some basketball in their back round. The serious volleyball stuff good benefit as well with body control and getting up high in motion. Diggin' it.

Serious question for you guys. What makes Gesicki different than Michael Egnew? I want to be clear, I'm not trying to **** on this pick, or start an argument for fun. I don't know anything about him other than his combine performance and youtube highlight packages. It seems like most people in this thread are excited by the pick, which is encouraging. Very rare to see so many members pumped up about a 2nd round pick. Most years we're all angry that Miami passed on certain guys considered to be BPA (and usually we're right...). I think Gesicki looks more fluid and in control of his body than Egnew, but I'm not seeing a clear distinction, which has me nervous (and like I said, maybe for no reason since I don't know much about him).

It's a different level athletically. 4.54 vs 4.62 40yrd dash, 41.5" vs 36" vertical, 3 cone, shuttles all similarly better... and he's an inch taller with longer arms and bigger hands.

I don't have any inside info, but I suspect what plagued Egnew had more to do with what was between his ears than his physical talent. It seemed too big for him. I think Gesicki is supposed to be a polished route runner and understands where he was supposed to be, etc..

High cut thin torso super finesse. Long strider which takes away some of the test score short area quickness. Catch radius though is crazy

Miami better sign Anthony fasano for the in line ask

Hard for me to get excited about the pick considering how I have felt about his blocking for months, but, whatta you think about the chemistry and movement skills and how they match up with what Ryan likes from that position.?

I think gesicki needs to run routes where he’s not asked to gear down and redirect as much. Let the explosive speed and test scores aspect route concept wise show the most plus the leaping ability.

Red zone iso fade and between the 20s posts, slants, post corner post, 9 routes when split to stack the safety or lb and get him off the los as much as possible to get him clean releases cause this dude will get rerouted in the stem physically if you don’t. Very finesse in the stem and at the catch point unless he’s climbing the latter.

And basically forget about trying to make him block. Never gonna happen

I do see some head and shoulder sell in his routes which is nice.

You aren’t gonna add weight on that torso without scraping the athlete so don’t try.

Our biggest problem is TE. Both sides of the ball. Can't stop theirs, ours don't go.

If things go according to plan, we should end up having at least these guys at our disposal:
    Parker
    Stills
    Grant
    Amendola
    Wilson
    Drake
    Gore
    Ballage
    Gesicki
    Smythe

Providing our guys are able to grasp the entire offense, we should be able to throw everything and the kitchen sink at the defense now. I am excited.

And when you factor in a healthy Tannehill and a better OL, seems like this will be the most complete offense we've had in quite some time.
