I hope Bron isn't forced to play with the circus that is Lavar Ball's son.

Not sure about that. Now, if LA adds another player, they won't be able to afford Kawhi next offseason. So if LA can't make a trade happen, he ain't going there. Plus, you have the Paul George effect. He was a lock to LA last year too.

I’d imagine DeMarcus is leaving New Orleans for Lebron. It was a fun experiment before he got injured.

    Damn.

Yep. Makes a ton of sense. Great fit with LeBron, too. Would he be willing to take a 1 year prove it deal, though?

Woooooooooo....LA Lakers back in the playoffs...i dont think anyone will beat the Warriors anytime soon...but this man deserves major props to come to a team with no star on it

I retract on the basis of the money not working. Kawhi was really trying to burn bridges to get to LA.

Toronto has made it known that everyone is available. DeRozan could ease some of that pain.

Eh, Magic has let it be known by his newly acquired GM Lebron James, that everyone is available for a Kawhi Leonard trade.

It’s even tougher because before kawhi got hurt in that series it looked like he was gonna beat golden state by himself.

Kawhi and lebron together I think would work great. Kawhi doesn’t demand the ball everything can run thru lebron. Like it should. He’s the best facilitating and vision player in the game.

Whats the cap situation with Lebron on board now looking like? Do they still have another max slot?

Somehow, the Boston Celtics, the most historically blessed franchise in NBA history, is now installed as the de facto underdog. They're going up against the juggernaut West with a young team full of likeable and talented players that they acquired 'the right way'. This is ridiculous. The Sixers are at risk of stagnating. Right now they're relying on Fultz to step up, but they may be motivated to make a move for Kawhi now that the East is trash.

That’s exactly what I think they are gonna do. Bank on development another year with brown and Tatum etc. and especially now that lebron has given them the east.

Baynes has resigned to give them some post toughness they are talking like they may be able to keep Marcus smart and we drafted an athletic big rim runner.

There’s no damn way though that the lakers have more to offer than Boston for kawhi.

    No damn way.

But with lebron gone why would you?

I believe if they trade, or waive and stretch Deng, they can afford another max, and could even still afford Kawhi in a trade. If they sign someone and don't trade for Kawhi, I don't think they have max space next year.

Lebrons going there cause something is coming with him. I don’t think cousins is enough.

    It’s got to be Kawhi.

They just signed KCP for 1 year $12M, so not sure what that does for their cap situation. I'd bet Boogie is next.

In all seriousness, as much as the Lakers want Kawhi Leonard, Popovich is very old school, he has said before he doesn't believe in helping other teams create dynasties making it harder for his team to defeat them. I have a feeling he wont trade Kawhi at all, OR he will trade him to a team in the East.

    Lakers going after Nerlens Noel.

La would be smart to drive the price up on Capela. If they can. I don’t know the ins and outs of that.

What do you think it would cost the sixers? I’d have to think the Celtics would be all about driving that price up.

There’s no way ainge isn’t keeping tabs on this.

That's not going to stop them from going after Capela.. Noel is worthless. He is a bench player at best until he proves he can play a full season. 42 missed games due to a thumb injury, and then suspended 5 games violating a drug policy.

You could see the Lakers make a bunch of 1 year deals banking on landing someone big next offseason. Even if it's not Kawhi, it could be KD, Kyrie, or Klay.

I think they can give him whatever, but they'd prefer to give him less than his absolute ceiling.

They only have $13 mil in cap room left. Their threat is over. This doesn't even include the $12 mil on KCP

So $25 mil if they release Randle. Doesn’t seem like Capela and lebron would move the needle enough for bron.

The $12 mil they just spent on KCP wasn't included, so less than $25 mil.

Capela hasn’t made any real nba money yet so I doubt he takes a discount anywhere other than Houston.

    If he does.

I have no idea, but if Fultz is getting asked for and that's the thing holding it up, they're crazy in Philly. I understand keeping Simmons and Embiid off limits; the whole point of Kawhi in Philly is to play with those guys. I'd say it starts with Fultz, includes the Sacramento pick, and also pulls in one of Covington/Saric (maybe McConnell is needed to get it done). Covington would be great for Philly since Kawhi fits into his slot with more offensive ability. If they keep Saric and McConnell, they would be only upgrading their team based on last season's contributions.
