Not that anyone asked, but I 100% support player free agency. Good for Boogie and KD if playing for GSW is their priority. Good for Kawhi demanding a trade. These are human beings and they deserve to work for whatever team they want to. They can use their leverage any way they want. I don't like it, but I support it.

I'd keep an eye on Rashad Vaughn and Duncan Robinson as well. Vaughn is a former 1st round pick that played well when given the opportunity last night, and Robinson is the type of shooter Miami likes.

Yes, but that doesn't lessen the relative value of the team against the individual. If anything it strengthens the importance of the commitment of star talent to a team vs. gathering together.

Would you want to continue working in a place where you had serious issue with a coworker? Someone you had to rely on, that you didn't feel took his job seriously? Especially, if the location of that workplace was in a less than desirable location?

Rumor is that Butler and Kyrie want to team up next offseason. NYK? I wouldnt be upset with that haul provided Ntilikina is still the primary ball handler on offense and Kyrie was used as a scorer.

I know for a fact he plays that late even the night before a game. I also know he listens to trash hip hop like lil pump. It’s a disgrace to all hip hop fans.

Jimmy butler likes country and is probably a PUBG guy hence the beef lol

I'm not mad at KAT for gaming the night before a game. He's not working a 9-5. I still sometimes go to work on 0 sleep if I'm restless.

A bit different for NBA players, though. Taking care of your body is paramount, and proper sleep has been proven to be really important. You may not always be able to get a full night's sleep for whatever reason, but playing video games until the morning shows a lack of taking your craft seriously, IMO.

Last word from me on Boogie: he’s a liar

  27. CaribPhin

    CaribPhin Guest

He's not lying. He didn't have an offer on the table when he signed his contract with Golden State. When he decided he wanted to test the market before signing an offer, New Orleans evidently rescinded it. He's absolutely correct to say that he didn't have another choice as a free agent.

This is a Pelicans source. They placed the word rebuff there to make it sound hostile. New Orleans is doing damage control but the reality is, if you were willing to give him $40 million, you could have given him $6 million and stashed him on the bench. When they saw how inexpensive he ended up being, they realized they didn't actually have a good reason as to why Cousins is a Warrior now. This is lame as hell from management.

Anthony Davis can't be happy about the way they're treating a star, and himself by getting rid of his help for free. LeBron was mad because Miami let Mike Miller go. Cousins is a star. They let him go because they were mad at him for not agreeing, which is stupid.

You’re just wrong factually. You think they refused to pay Boogie $6 million? You’re nuts. Boogie is LYING. The report that he had no other offers was retracted. Pelicans offered him $12 million AFTER they signed Randle.

They consulted AD every step of the way. He recruited Randle. Just cause Pat Riley screwed it up with LeBron doesn’t mean the Pelicans screwed it up with Boogie.

...also, Pelicans had several sign & trade deals in the works where he’d get over $12 million and he took his ball and went home.

No it wasn't. This is from the article still online:

    http://theundefeated.com/features/demarcus-cousins-this-was-my-chess-move-golden-state-warriors/

Anthony Davis can't like this. Is this ownership being cheap? They could have had Cousins for peanuts and still pursued a wing like Jimmy Butler. Rondo, Holliday, Butler, Davis, and Cousins could have been a stifling starting 5.

The difference between American sports team owners and the resources high level association football team owners expend to make their teams great is ridiculous.

I read something today suggesting AD liked the way NO played once Cousins got hurt, and liked the way the locker room operated without him. He also was a big part in getting Julius Randle.

I guess justise Winslow, a pick, and a piece doesn’t sound too bad? Maybe gardenhead’s head is too full of the garden variety to see it.

  36. CaribPhin

He didn't want a sign and trade. Why are you pretending like he's a bad person for choosing to reject an option that he didn't want? Offering to sign him and trade him just so they could get assets for a guy they already told they weren't bringing back is not the same as him having an offer to play for NO on the table. New Orleans has leaked every possible offer except a straight up free agent contract, because they never offered him one.

New Orleans has yet to say that at any point since free agency started they they offered him money to play for them in free agency. They never denied telling him he's not coming back. They have yet to claim that he had an option to play for New Orleans after the season ended. NO is saying everything EXCEPT that they offered him a contract.

Dude. I don’t care about official team statements.

And the original quote from Boogie that was tweeted out was that he got no offers. Then, in the article, it was changed to “significant” offers.

Boogie is a liar. That’s my only point. But feel free to argue with me on this. I’m sure you will.
