It is crazy! 20 movies. That is practically a full season of television.

Finally saw a few movies that have been out for a bit.

Pacific Rim 2 Uprising: Not bad, but not nearly as good as the first. Not nearly enough time focused on the *****in new Jaegers was a huge disappointment. There was like one big actual fight and that was it. Meh.

Justice League: Similar to above, not bad (mostly) but also not very good. Steppenwolf was an awful villian and the parademons were laughable. The humorous beats just didn't work for me, and didn't take away from how seriously the movie seemed to take itself. Like, there are only so many times you can make the "you dress up as a bat" joke before you just kind of groan, and that's really all they did to lighten things up. Afflek is a good actor but terrible Batman, the people playing Flash and Cyborg were pretty blah as well. Seemed very disjointed and jerky - this one would have been much better served introducing the heroes before the movie instead of as part of it. Meh.

Its been funny that no matter what movie I've gone to the movies to see this year, and no matter which cinema chain, every single one has had this long, extended trailer preceding it for a movie called Crazy Rich Asians. And its seemingly this romantic comedy that is for a totally different audience than the movie I'm there for.

The Incredibles 2 - Saw this with my son, but we first had to watch The Incredibles 1 because we never saw it. I will give both movies a 6.5 out of 10. They were entertaining. We laughed more at the second movie because of the baby and costume maker's relationship.

Rampage - I will give it a 5 out of 10 mainly because of the action kept me engagaed. The premise was dumb though.

Tomb Raider - 4 out of 10. Meh.

Blockers - 8 out of 10. Hilarious. Much better than I expected. John Cena and the crew were pretty funny. As a parent, I can relate.

I watched Infinity Wars a few days ago. I loved it. I don't know why it got a lot of bad reviews. Yes, I wish they had gone a little further with the ending, but we all know it's just setting us up for another great film.

As I think I said before, you and I are apparently on polar opposite ends of the spectrum for movies then!

Suicide Squad was one of the very worst movies I've seen in decades. None of the characters mattered. Not a single one had anything to make me care about them. The writing was awful, everything was just a big, dark cliche, and the action scenes were so generic and mundane that they could have been from a random, low budget TV show.

But in general, whatever DC is doing seems to repel me pretty hard, while the things that Marvel does pull me in strongly. I fully understand that other people can be very, very different.

I agree that Marvel has the better movies, but I like DC too. Wonder Woman and Justice League are fantastic movies, IMO, but Green Lantern and Jonah Hex (to name just 2) really sucked.

But other than Black Panther, Marvel hasn't put out a bad movie yet.

I liked it too. I mean, it was bad, but it was enjoyably bad and worth a free watch on Netflix. At least there was some fun campiness..... and Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Viola Davis, and just better characters overall.... and better music too. Black Panther was just boring as heck and completely non immersive.

I thought that it was very possibly the worst work I'd ever seen Will Smith do. (not that I've seen every one of his works). This was only the second thing that I've seen Margo Robie in, after recently seeing the Tarzan movie also. She was much better in that one.

She had a great disappearing accent.

Suicide Squad is perfect to show a film class on what not to do with a movie.

Probably the worst editing of all time for any big budget motion picture.

Like when Captain Boomerang left and thenwas with the team for no reason.

The movie was literally edited two completely different was ways and then just mashed together.

That does not even go into what would Certain Boomerang or Harley Quinn would do against Superman?

It is so dumb. Such a dumb, dumb movie.

IW was a meh for me. It was just so obviously a prequel from the start. And IMO, it might as well have been a part of the pirate-angel, er Thor, series.

Worst part of it for me was Jared Leto's Joker... I like JL alot, but that was a caricature of a caricature IMO and he was more distraction and pointless than anything else.

They should've followed the plot for "Run All Night" with it. Would've been more entertaining.

Watched Jared Leto's "The Outsider" the other day. Interesting and compelling, but moreso due to the subject matter and that it was Japanese Film Noir.

Sorta reminded me of Clint's "Unforgiven" in his character's vengeful nature.

    I liked it.

Something I watched last night that was really good IMO was The Judge (Downey Jr, Robert Duvall). Great writing + great acting + relatable characters + good story is always a recipe for a solid flick. Had the feel of a miniseries with how well the characters were developed and brought to life.

Suicide Squad was one of the only things I've ever seen Leto in. He's one of those guys where I know him only because he's a celebrity. That take on the Joker was just creepy, not cool.

JL's Joker was written so poorly. He was written to spell out the Joker. That scene in the bar made no sense. Everything about the character made no sense. It was like a kid saying, "Look at me! I am the Joker!"

watched new Netflix movie "How it ends". Did enjoy the movie. Forest Whitaker was good in it. Theo James is pretty good, but probably because he doesn't say too much (Keanu Reeves school of acting). movie had good tension/drama throughout. puzzled by the ending. Assuming they make a sequel.

Just finished "The Salvation" with Madds, JD Morgan, and Eva Green. A pretty decent western from a Danish Director. Plot was a little over the top, but probably the best western I've seen since Appaloosa with Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen.

You can tell Jeffrey Dean Morgan really enjoys playing a ruthless SOB. Eva Green's role was as a mute. She did a good job of showing emotion and thoughtfulness with her eyes, expressions, and body language.

I saw Sorry to Bother You.

It is a hard movie to describe, especially without spoiling it. It is freaking weird. Like, very weird. It is hard to wrap my head around it.

To be honest I don't know how much I like it because it was so weird. I liked a lot of parts about it. Did not see the end coming. If you could see the end coming to this movie, you are a psychic and why aren't you winning the lottery over and over again.

I also watched this on Saturday.

    Hated it.

It wasn't just weird, it was stupid. I mean stupid like an 8th grader wrote and directed it stoopid. And not a smart 8th grader. I'm talking about an 8th grader that's been in the 8th grade for 3 years. I mean, he had a TBI as an infant and his mother smoked crack while he was in the womb, stupid. And he was high when he wrote it.

Yes, I get where Boots was trying to go with this movie. However, he missed the mark by a mile.

I seriously can't believe someone allowed this movie to be made. Who ponied (get it, Dupree? lol) up the cash for this pile of trash?

Netflix's How it Ends...... dont waste your time on this garbage unless you wanna get pissed off. Decent movie through the first hour and 20 minutes and then complete dogs**t the final 20.... like the producers got smashingly baked and said "Let's hurry up and get this s**t over with before our brains dip below 25% capacity".

Edit: There's an IMdB review that says "Cinematic equivalent of blue balls". That's exactly what this piece of s**t is!! There's no goddam ending to it, not even a hint of resolution or explanation. It just f**king cuts off, leaving the viewer with an unanswered question about... I dont know... the most important part of the damn movie. Apparently the hillbilly rednecks in this flick know more about its “apocalypse” than we do.

I hope this movie gets AIDS.

Those kind are the worst! Reminds me of Contact, the 90s movie starring Jodie Foster. Terrific movie up until the last 10 minutes or so, then it makes you want to smash the TV.

yeah, I knew it was coming. one of the reviews said "good movie, unless you actually want to know how it ends". I did enjoy it up until the end. if there's a sequel, I'll still watch it despite the case of blue balls from the first

I was drafted into taking my kids and their cousins to see Hotel Transylvania 3 today. It was as awful as I feared. I generally enjoy animated family movies. They've gotten much, much better the last 10-15 years than they were when I was growing up. But this series is just lousy, and each one has gotten worse. If you've seen the first two, there are no real surprises. It sticks close to what they did.

3/10, because at least the animation was done professionally. But avoid if you have the chance to see something else!

I haven't seen it (or 1 or 2, for that matter), but Transylvania 3 won the weekend box office pretty handily. Most reviews seem to have it as inferior to the first two, but the real bomb seems to be Skyscraper.

Right place at the right time. That can mean everything for box office sales, especially with family movies. They picked the right spot, waiting long enough after Incredibles 2 came out.
