Agreed. You'd probably have to give up all your young assets and two picks, but the upside is, you'd probably be keeping Dragic in that scenario because it would probably mean SA is going young. Dragic, Kawhi, and Aldridge puts you right there in contention for the East. If you get anything out of Whiteside, even better, and you still probably have a nice set of role players in Ellington, James Johnson, Olynyk, etc. Again, probably a pipe dream, but at least that would make the Eastern Conference fun to watch to break up the monotony of another Golden State title run.
There’s a dude on Miami’s sub reddit right now claiming to be justise Winslow but he’s refusing to get verified lol. He’s trashing whiteside.
I didn't follow it beyond how weird it was. They should just say sorry and bring Hinkie back. They could reinvigorate the "Process" brand and make some money while they lose in the second round to Toronto.
It’s hilarious to me how sixers fans worship Hinkie. He didn’t bring any championships. They suck *** for 6 years straight and get 2 good players out of it. Then their “process” ends during the peak of the warriors dominance.
In the context of pre-2017 Philadelphia sports, the process was a coup. The Phillies have stunk for years, the Eagles have been good on-and-off but never won anything, the Flyers much the same outside of two cups 40 years ago, and the Sixers were the prize unit in the sports blitzkrieg. Now that the Eagles have a championship, the process is going to get old quickly when they don't win anything. Winning 50 games probably hurt Philly more than it helped. They were thoroughly outplayed by a short-handed Celtics team that was eventually beaten by LeBron James + scarecrows.
No, it showed how poorly Philly executed it. Which, good for me, my Knicks are looking like an almost competent franchise in doing this...Noah’s unmoveable sinkhole of a contract notwithstanding. ***Crosses fingers and prays...please don’t **** it up***
6 years in a row is a long time to tank. Thats almost 25% of my life so far. Considering Golden State has the league on lock for the next 4 years, it was all for nothing. Now, if they had taken Porzingis, it's a different story.
Like i said, it just shows how poorly philly did executing it. Okafor and Fultz being failures as top 3 selections prevented a potential homegrown dynasty
Nice soon to be FA target for Riley. Does kristaps like Latin women who don’t have to wear jackets half of the year? Just ****in with ya Boik.
Raptors and Spurs in talks for a Leonard--DeRozan swap. That's a way to avoid blowing your team up. Lowry definitely isn't Westbrook so I don't see this ending well for Toronto.
Way to go is spot on. As i mentioned before, Pop is very old school and has said it himself, he does not help other teams build dynasties. And there couldnt be more proof than this.
Im not sure if Kawhi will stay there but Lowry and Kawhi on 1 team is just about as good defensively as youre going to get. Westbrook is amazing player individually but Lowry is one of the most underrated players in the league. Hes literally the best defensive PG by a good margin (he went 4 years allowing 4 30 point games), capable of an 18ppg/7-9APG over a season, and very unselfish. Personally, id rather play with Lowry if given the option then Westbrook who doesnt give a damn about D (or just isnt very good at it) and stat pads.
Toronto pulls a robbery. Won 60 last year, ditched a guy who's a minus in the playoffs, and now have the best player in the conference. Not to mention a group of quite promising young guys who should all be improved. They'll be the favorites to make the finals in the East.
i´m so happy the Lakers did not blink and gave away any of the young guys in Ball, Kuzma, Hart and Ingram....sit it out another year, let LeBron play a year with the young guns and sign Leonard next year.
This is the ultimate admission that Dwane Casey got shafted. The guy sets another franchise record for wins, and gets fired. Yet, this trade is a clear admission on the front office's part that there were improvements to make. Management gets another shot with a better player but Casey has to coach Detroit now.
This is the best. Oh you wanna dick the franchise over and force a trade to LA, your teams rival? That’s cool oh by the way we traded your *** to CANADA!! The furthest team in the nba from LA. Oh by the way you lost 80 mil. Hate the spurs, love Pop.
Casey is a good coach. With a frontcourt of Blake and Drummond theyre a wing away from being a good team
The official deal is Kawhi+Danny Green for DeRozan, Poetl, and a protected first round pick. Not a bad deal for either team.
Im sure kawhi is thrilled he just gave up 80 million dollars to sign outright with the Lakers. By the way Canadian taxes aint no joke especially in toronto. Kawhi to Lakers is looking very bleak even in 2019. Unless the guy doesnt care about losing another 50 million, i dont see it happening.
Kawhi might be pissed off at the Lakers for not giving up what they needed to get him. It shows that maybe they didn’t really want him that bad. This is just like the Paul George situation. No one thought he would re sign in Oklahoma but OKC showed they really wanted him, and LA didn’t.
Did you watch the 2017 NBA playoffs? Did you see how Harden disappeared? Have you seen Chris Paul in the playoffs with the Hornets or Pelicans? Have you seen Melo take his team deep into the playoffs? Those three are playoffs underachievers. Well before the 2018 playoffs when CP3 got hurt.
He knows. I will let him have his fun. He's lucky as hell. If Paul wouldn't have got hurt...Rockets in 6 easy. That injury and those refs saved him and the other haters from an epic year-long trolling session from me. It would have been bad...ban-worthy, lol.
Kawhi situation might not be over yet. It's more or less assumed he sat out of games last season, perhaps to avoid injury. If that's the case, and he just wants to be home in LA, he might not make it past the medical in Toronto. If he chooses not to play by faking an injury the trade might be voided... this might not be likely, but then nothing about this whole scenario was likely. We'll see what Kawhi, or, rather, his uncle, chooses to do. Alternatively, maybe the Raptors do a deal with the Lakers that the Spurs weren't will to do and Kawhi gets to LA in exchange for young talent, just less than SAS were asking?
