We didnt have one...we needed one. Ok so here's the trade. Adrian Peterson, for Mcnabb and Wayne. I have Wayne and DM. should I do it?
Carson Palmer Randy Moss Santana Moss Micheal Turner Fred Taylor Kellen Winslow Isaac Bruce Julius Jones J.T. O' Sullivan (my sleeper) James Hardy (another sleeper) Mushin M. Donald Lee I like my team, but I think AP would put me over the top.
your running backs aren't strong really, and you already have Carson Palmer for QB so mcnabb is easily tradable... Wayne will be tough to get rid of, but Peterson is boom or bust, im afraid of him with injuries and he put up a couple HUGE games last year, but had plenty of under 10 pt games too... Wayne you know what your getting and you know hes gonna stay healthy based on his career... but you need to get another starting RB if you start 2... if you are in a league starting 2 RBs and you can put one in the Flex, id do it...
hmmm...tempting i love the Moss/Wayne combo though, but you are weak at RB. You'll strengthen your RB but take a hit on WRs. PPR??
..I did...I couldnt help it. I am hoping Sullivan turns into a beast under Martz. He has looked good. in preseason.
I would keep an eye on the FA wire too for any QB's that surprise. I'd probably do the same trade. Sullivan is a gamble but I think he could do well. And now that you get an extra roster spot, who's left in FA in terms of WR?
I dont know, I was kind of thinking I would pick up another QB. He's giving me Lienert in the trade but I dont even know if he's going to play at this point.
For sure, he's toast. lol. Might pick up Orton maybe? Slim pickings when you have 12 players in a 2 qb league. Which IMO makes the games harder, I like it that way.
It becomes a situation where people try to block you out of having a QB to charge you during the middle of the week. It can get nasty. As for surprise QBs, I think Sullivan WILL surprise and be very solid. As I've said for all posters here, watch that Chris Perry situation carefully. It's the same thing for me as the Gore-Barlow thing was a few years ago. I was able to add a monster back for zero...
Eh, maybe not Orton. I really don't like the Chicago offense. There's about a glaring question on almost every position. Garcia available? Pennington? Trent Edwards?
I think I know better than to let myself get hoodwinked by a guy who clearly picked Brees in order to trade him after QB injuries started hitting. Maybe if you gave me someone else in addition... hint, hint. Otherwise, it would depend on how the two owners value the QB position this year. I think the top ten guys are all good starters, and those ranked 11-20 can comfortably fill in for 3-4 weeks.
Definitely Garcia. Gotta go with what's out there. Listed Garcia first then Pennington and finally Edwards in that order. Some leagues don't even have Garcia available.
Ted Ginn and Zach Miller for Tony Gonzalez. Situation: 16 team keeper league, I'm having Wayne; Chambers; Gaffney; Henry; Marty Booker at WR and Gore; Lewis; Rice; Lorenzo Booker; Chris Brown and Pierre Thomas at RB. No 2nd TE at the moment. Miller is a downgrade at TE for sure (although I do like him a lot) but Ginn would give me more flexibility at WR since I'm not too high on Chambers, especially consistency-wise and our league is quite generous on kick and punt return yards. Dumb trade for me?
BTW you need to put as much relevant information as possible to get strong advice. Leaving important information out will lead to poor responses.
Chris Chambers, Reggie Wayne for Wes Welker, Donte Stallworth. Did I get a steal or what? Oh, and my other WR's are Randy Moss and Roy Williams.
If Campbell or Russell are avilable I like those guys far more then Garcia. I think those teams could see breakthroughs from their qb's. Otherwise Pennington
while I agree with that who is gonna get him the ball? If I had a qb id take him over a lot of guys but right now Shockey and Dallas Clark HAVE to go ahead of Gonzo because of their QB situations. Chris Cooley would have to be on par with Gonzo as he had 750 and 7 tds with Todd Collins for half the year last season.
Him and Dwayne Bowe seemed to do fine with "merely" Damon Huard at QB. If Croyle stinks it up, Huard comes back in. Besides, if you see a revival of Larry Johnson, and Croyle stays in, doesn't that make Gonzo essentially the #1 passing target? There are TEs who produce with poor QB play, and there are QBs who produce without TEs. (Quick, guess how many TDs New Orleans' tight ends had last year.)
Aright so what do you guys think of my team now going into Week 1: QB: Palmer, Garcia RB: Addai, Deangelo Williams, McFadden, Slaton (Hou), Chris Taylor (Hou) WR: Fitz, Marshall, Burleson, Deshaun Jackson, Kevin Walter TE: Cooley K: Empty D: Minn, Indy I plan on dropping my lowest WR or RB going into Week 1 so I can pick up a K. Prob Gramatica like Desides suggested. 12 Teams, PPR, no bonus points, keeper league Whatd you guys think of how my team looks going into the season?
Looks very good. I'd start the Colts' defense if Bob Sanders is healthy, as Chicago is a more ripe target than Green Bay. (And is Dwight Freeney really a significant downgrade from Jared Allen?) Drop whoever loses the Houston RB battle (probably Taylor) in favor of your kicker.
You look fine at WR, great at QB/TE, maybe iffy on RB since a lot of things have to go your way for the 2nd starter. You'll definitely cut either Slaton or Taylor. Whichever one doesn't win the job, gets the boot. I thought that as well but Gonzalez did well with Croyle & Huard plus with LJ out at the same time. He racked up 1100 yards and 5 TD's under those circumstances which are the exact same he's gonna get this year for better or worse. And with the D likely to give up many points, that means Chiefs pass more to catch up. Barring injury, I wouldn't expect anything less than 1000 yards and 5-6 TD's. Best Damn League Ever. My guess is, it has a few Pats bandwagoners or people who think Peyton Manning is going to have a down year. Then again, my RB corps (McGahee, Brown, Gore, Young) isn't that good and I was hoping for trades there. Must be, his was actually the 2nd offer I got for almost that same package. The other was Braylon + LJ + Santana Moss for McGahee + Welker + Stallworth. Is there something I'm missing because why do Welker and Stallworth seem like hot commodities?
Welker had a monster season last year and is expected to repeat because he faces the same mismatches against linebackers. Stallworth is in the Browns offense and he's a better #2 option than Jurevicius in the minds of many. I say take advantage of their man-love and swing a running back. (Though I don't know why you're not comfortable with DeAngelo Williams. Guy looks great.)
Thanks for the input guys. I'm def dropping Slaton or Taylor. I have a feeling it will be Taylor. I just hope they dont split the carries, but its likely. I'm also strongly considering starting Deangelo Williams over McFadden to be on the safe side. At least for the first few games.
Certainly start DAW over McFadden. Hopefully he won't lose reps to their new rookie. Expected to but nowhere near what Wayne could bring me (plus, saves me the headache of having all 3 WR's with the same bye week). Stallworth is a better #2 option than Jurevicius but I never thought he was good enough to warrant throwing Chambers in the deal.
Agreed on all counts, but at some point you gotta take advantage of others' ignorance and better your team.
Weren't they planning on splitting carries between Williams and Stewart? I stayed away from Carolina backs for that reason. Same for Oakland.
I'm hoping Car wants to start Stewart out slowly since hes still coming off that toe injury and Deangelo has looked good. But yea Ill def start him. Only way I was considering to start DMF is if Bush got moved to FB and DMF beat Fargas outright, neither happened. I think that whole trade you got is ridiculous. Wayne will be the man for many years, and Chambers looks ripe for a huge season. Why the hell would SD give up a 2nd if they weren't gonna use him all the time? I wish people were as generous in my league.
True. But with more than one person making the same offers for the same people, it got me wondering if there was anything I missed about the two? I thought it was either that or I was in the Twilight Zone.
