So I'm going to my first ever Dolphins game in Miami this weekend (as a UK-based fan I've been to all the London games).

Wondering if anyone can help me out with tips for getting to the stadium? I'll have a rental car, but would prefer to avoid driving because beer. What's the public transport situation like?

We'll be staying in the Miami Beach area if that helps at all.

(Sorry for cross-posting this, but the Phins Connection forum seems to be pretty dead)

Congratulations on going to the game! Wish I could help but I’m sure there are shuttles running back and forth along certain routes. I’ve been to the stadium before and I know it’s not something I would want to drive to and from.

I’m sure there’s someone here with local knowledge that will help you out

This, Hardrock has an excellent pick up and drop area for people who use rideshares. Florida public transport is unreliable and mostly bad.

This is really your best option. Unfortunately, public transportation is virtually non-existent here in Florida, and is basically considered a form of communism by the largely uneducated, conservative population.

Just know that Miami Beach to Hard Rock is about a 30 min drive. The stadium is quite a bit out west.

Have fun at the game! I hope it goes better than my own one trip to see the team play at home, when we lost to the Raiders in 2007. My wife and I stayed in Hileaeh (sp?) at a nice hotel, and rented a car for the weekend. Had no issues getting to and from anywhere.

I'm sorry dude but the truth hurts. I realize this might be upsetting, but the facts of the matter are very clear: Hard Rock Stadium is a solid 30 minute drive from Miami Beach.

Yeah, you can have someone drop you off via Uber. You can also catch a party bus to the game- there's ads all over the newspapers. You could also park at the horse track, catch a few races and then grab a shuttle to the game....there are lots of options. The only one you don't want is to drive your rental car to the stadium, pay for parking, and then deal with all the traffic afterwards. That's a bad move but anything else works just fine.

Obviously things may have changed a great deal in the past decade, but the rental worked just fine for me a decade ago.

I was shocked at the lack of public transit myself when we were down there. Unlike any other big city that I've otherwise traveled to.

The stadium is in a weird spot for public transit...it's sort of all by itself on the Dade/Broward line. I haven't lived down there in 20+ years and a ton has changed, but I'd imagine Uber is by far the smartest move.

However bad it is down there I can assure you its worse in my area. I'd take the bus if it got me anywhere I need to go at the time I need to be there. Comically it does not. Not even close. Around here its a catch 22 kind of thing, more people would use it if it worked for them and had more buses and routes and they wont add buses and routes til more people use it.

Ask your hotel and compare prices.

My own experience the last time I was there was horrible. My advice is allow yourself ample time before the game starts to enjoy the experience. Because once the game is over they are booting you out as fast as they can. I paid $1000 for field level tickets and as soon as the last whistle blew security was in my face telling me to get out.
Make sure you don't bring anything with you to the game, stadium security is tight. Know the rules.
Party bus might be a good option, some of them even get there early for tailgating.
    wish I had done that

I'm over for the Bills and Pats games in December, is the party bus thing something that happens from many areas? We're staying in South Beach. We were going to use Uber as had seen others saying it was the best option, but also that there can be long waits after the games.

Every bus from South Beach is essentially a party bus regardless of where it's headed.

It was awesome, thanks. So glad I got to see a win even though it was a tough game to watch at times.

Already planning how to make another trip over sooner than later.

I have a similar question, and since I'm not able to open threads due to just opening my account, I hope somebody sees my reply in this thread.

I am from Europe and will be in Miami for the Orange Bowl. Since I've never been to Hard Rock Stadium before I was wondering if there's a designated drop-off and pick up area which is also available to private drivers and not just Taxis/Uber/Lyft?

    Any help is much appreciated!

You can drop off at the same location for Rideshares at Norwood Elementary School. You can also try the Super Walmart near the stadium as well.
