Great video showing some examples of some horrible individual efforts across the offensive line. Again, we were not out-smarted or out-coached; we were out-played.
It occurs to me that the offensive line is likely to be a liability the entire season because it has no leader who sets a high bar for the other linemen.
Oh come on we got out coached as well. Just get over it Belichick is a great coach even though I dislike him personally. Yeah we have some crap online once again this is like the 12 year in a row we keep saying this. New coaches, new schemes same **** players. by the time we finally figure it out the entire team will be retired. Honestly what this team needs is 2 veterans aside for the current group and we need to draft another stud. Tunsil is also not playing up to his potential and may need to be moved Again I believe we were out coached we didn’t adapt for the poor player effort. We kept forcing the run when we should have just stuck passing the ball.
It’s a bad situation... Ryan isn’t making any play on his own, he’s choosing not to step up not to scramble..
At 5:13 he’s talking about how the nose tackle destroys Kilgore, but if you watch James at RT he just stands still and looks as Tannehill gets chased down by the LB he should have been blocking. That play was salvageable if James had been aware enough to block the free man.
Up until this point he’s been graded as at least adequate by PFF, but that game was a bit of a dumpster fire for him.
Keep in mind this is the team Gase wanted. These are the players he wanted. So if the players aren't up to par when the coach is high on the players (and he said as much pre-season) it reflects on the ability of the coach.
Who plans on losing three starters in the first four weeks though? That's 60% of our line that's now on the bench. I know injuries happen but it's amazing how brittle our linemen tend to be across a season.
Sitton has an injury history. Kilgore no, but you would think we could have atleast got sa project guy.
The Patriots completely outschemed us and executed their gameplan well. 10 plays featuring ME/MA by the o-line does nothing to dismiss that. In fact, you can see it in those clips with their defensive alignments and splits, and how they manipulated blocking reads and gained leverage by alignment. We were outcoached in every aspect, and that includes our failure to properly train our o-line in drilling technical skills of footwork, anchoring, hand placement, etc.
