That Jags-Chiefs game was telling imo.

Editing to add, I think the Chiefs played it perfectly the last few years. They realized they were maxed out as a team with Alex Smith (who, jesus christ, was abominable against NO, holy crap did Washington blow it) and made an aggressive move to get better.

If we really are stuck with Tannehill due to dead money, then I think that is still the blueprint we have to follow. Get a rookie on board, let Tannehill play out at least some of the year and then say goodbye and maybe see if you can trade him somewhere.

Tannehill strikes me as a guy more suited out of the playaction then any of the concepts being ported over from today's college game. That makes him somewhat of a dinosaur though in that regard. And I agree with many of you that he doesn't process info fast enough out there - relying too heavily on his physical ability.

He needs to be playing in a Mike Shanahan/Gary Kubiak offense that features designed rollouts off of play-action. And that requires a stud running back, an athletic, cut-blocking offensive line, and a stud tight end. I'm not aware of any other offensive system that would maximize his talent to that degree.

If he had adequate protection all the time, Ryan can be a good caretaker type QB for you. A poor man's Alex Smith, who maybe doesn't anticipate the field, and pressure quite as well. You can win with him, and sometimes win because of him, but you're also going to lose because of him from time to time, especially when it all falls apart around him. Days gone by, he's a good QB to have on your team, however the modern NFL requires a play maker at that position now. Not just with the arm, but with instinct and athletic ability on the move as well. Ryan has those physical traits, but we rarely see them. Is that by design? Who knows. Either way it feels far too often right now that we're putting the square peg here, into the round hole. It's like we're trying to make him this field general, pocket QB like Manning, but that's just not his strength. Get back to playing with, and to his strengths like we did against the Jets, and earlier in this season. Get him out of the pocket, get him moving, get him involved with some play action, some read options, get him making plays. Is that him, or the coach/system? Who knows. Get him doing that more effectively, and this team still has a chance to sniff playoffs this year, but it won't be a deep run. Keep him doing what we're doing now, especially behind this tragic OL, and we'll get more of the last two weeks. I wouldn't be surprised either if Tannehill ends up on another roster, he does well in a situation that better suits him. Just feels like we're doing a bad job building around a guy who's limitations are pretty visible. If you're building around him, then do that. Instead, we're building an offense/system around a guy, who may not be the best suited for it. Seems... backwards.

That being said, either way I think Ryan is still here next year given the cap ramifications being thrown around if we parted ways. That should NOT and better not prevent this team from looking for a new QB though, and it better happen early in the draft. However, I haven't heard much about this QB crop that's too exciting (although it's early still), so this could be a dragged out process if there's not a prospect at QB in this upcoming draft we can get. If there is though, this team needs to do whatever they can to make that happen in the draft.

All that being said, I see this team avoiding the draft. If Gase is still here next year (and I assume he likely will be barring a catastrophic finish to this year) I can see them going the free agency route, or a later round pick for some competition, seeing how it goes and pressing the reset button the following year. I don't know if I see them giving the guy who got hired on the sales pitch of winning with Ryan only to fail the option of picking his own QB to draft if the seat is hot enough to be considering firing him. Of course, if a clean sweep happens this year, then the draft is likely the spot and rightfully so.

Alot of speculation and assumptions at this point, either way, Ryan Tannehill is what he is at this point. I had hoped he'd continue to build off the great run he was having before the first knee injury, and was willing to give him a few games for the rust to wear off after missing all of last year too, but IMO we're seeing too many of the same old Ryan type things still happening. He looked pretty ok though the first few games this year, so maybe we're just in a spot where teams have adjusted to what made us successful early on and have snuffed that out now, and we're just not adjusting fast enough to stay ahead on offense, which wouldn't surprise me given the state of the OL, and the limitations at the QB position. Get him off the spot in the pocket though, get him moving around and you'll see the passing game open up more with him IMO. Will it be enough? I doubt it. You're not going to make him into anything more than he already is at this point, but you can at least have more success with him than we have when he's standing in the pocket that falls to pieces instantly.

It's way to early for me to start contemplating QB options for next year.

The Dolphins O had 3 decent games and 2 real stinkers. The difference was the OL being able to give Tannehill more than 2 seconds to get rid of the ball. With the injuries to the OL, I doubt that's going to happen often in the future.

I think Tannehill is a plus passer on the move (right and left). The system needs to be adjusted around that.

Otherwise, the Dolphins might have a shot at the 1st pick next year.

I may be wrong, but I think you'll find it a more pleasant way to spend the season than watching the games.

If its OC I'm passing if he had a franchise QB as his playcaller, Joe Philbin had Aaron Rodgers Adam Gase had Peyton Manning, Gase is completely overrated has a QB 'whisperer'. I want someone like a Pat Shurmer who managed to make Kase Keenum look like a good QB.

Yeah, aside from the bonehead TOs, he was just really off with his throws. He missed a bunch of open receivers who could have gone for big gains or TDs.

    So CAL
RT had adequate time in any system to make a play, anything over 2.5 seconds is a lifetime and i need to take my shoes off to count how many times he held the ball, didnt feel the pressure to scramble, as well as how many time he had adequate time and still couldn't hit water if he fell out a boat in the pacific. all around bad performance 2 games in a row.

    Hows my boy Wilson..?

    over 100 Passer rating..better than 3 to 1 TD/INT ratio...no run game, bad oline..limited receivers..bad defnese..

wilson is not in question on any level..soon to be highest paid qb..deservedly so.

His pocket presence is terrible that's why everything is timing based with quick throws and bailout screens. Knock him around a bit or throw off his rhythm with the receivers and the whole offense is ****ed. Doesn't help stashing 4 qbs on the roster and having no depth on the Oline. Our boy used to take off and run at the first sign of trouble, now he just pees himself and turns it over. The defense was carrying this team in spite of all this by creating turnovers. Lets see if this gets better or worse. Who is our next opponent. CHICAGO LOL!!!

I watched most of the Kentucky - Florida game a few weeks ago and for me, he stood out like bollocks on a bulldog!

Never heard of him before but he couldn't half shift and looked like he had a good arm too. Only game I've seen him play in but I made a mental note to keep an eye out for him next time a Kentucky game is shown over here.

LOL. Bollocks are what we call balls... as in testicles.

And 'he couldn't half shift..' means he's very fast!

Don't worry, I'm from Yorkshire and there's plenty in the UK that can never understand what we're on about n'all... er, I mean 'as well'.

Don't waste your time. terry Wilson will not be an NFL QB, way too limited passing.
