Definite 'No thanks' regarding Stafford, and Carr only for one first rounder or a second rounder and change. We'd need to use a short passing game -unless we find another Cooper for Carr to throw deep to. How bad is his contract with the Raiders eating the signing bonus?

After edit: He would be around $18 million per season, which is a great deal if he returns to being an above average starting QB.

Pad Statford (his local nickname) is basically everything we hate about Tannehill in a more durable package. We would be idiots to give up a high pick.

I am okay with doing anything and everything to get better. We might not have depth at our QB position, but that doesn't mean someone else doesn't.

No choice. Gase will be fired if he doesn’t win next year so he needs a veteran to help him save his job.

he got that qb rating while he was very young..he just turned 26 years old..let him grow in a system and obviously stay healthy..

I trust that he can make a play if we need one.

    As usual,

Here is the weekly reminder that the QB that we decided to pass on (Lamar Jackson) has taken over a 4-5 Ravens team and led them to a 6-1 record (1:36 away from 7-0).

If he wins 1 playoff game, he would have accomplished more in 8 games, than Tannehill had accomplished in 7 years.

    That is all.

He's still not a very good QB though. Team success aside and Ryan Tannehill aside.

It’s official. We have the lucky 13th pick to get our future qb.

Obviously, we need to let Marino make that selection.

I think Mayfield is 100000000000000x the QB Lamar is.

Players who can't open the field with their arm all fail long term and that's how I see Jackson personally.

Its not that he does nothing well, its that what he does can't guarantee any success IMO.

With Justin Herbert now returning to college it means even more depth at QB in the 2020 draft class.

This year the most talented, but risky, pick at QB seems to be Kyler Murray - assuming he opts to play football over baseball. Can't say I see anything else great in this year's class.

If the Dolphins definitely want to find a QB, then they can opt to take someone who drops this year, keep Tannehill, and see what happens. But I think I prefer using this draft to add picks and/or fill others areas of need. Pick where the draft is strong, go for talent. We have multiple needs, ride with Tannehill, or if there is a suitor out there, trade Tannehill for picks and ride with one of our existing backups. Yes, it will mean a tough season, but aim for a QB in 2020 where there is more talent and after a poorer season, a higher pick will mean an easier shot at the QB you want.

Not on board with blatantly throwing a season. If we went with a rookie qb and just happened to go 2-14. Im in.

I would. Sometimes taking a step back is necessary to make improvements you otherwise couldn't make.

Whether you could really do it is another question. I think the GM and any coach guaranteed to have a job could try to throw a season but the players won't. Although Indy in their "Suck for Luck" campaign possibly showed it could be done in the NFL.

You can find a QB without tanking, it just takes good scouting.

Definitely count me off the tank list. Even if you end up good, all it says is you were best at sucking. It means nothing if its intentional.

If Kyler Murray chooses football, and I were running the Dolphins, I'd give up every pick in this next draft for him.

Rather than making the mistake of over reaching for a QB let it come organically. Last thing I wanna see is us give up picks for two or three years for a prospect, this year or ever.

And the best QB in college. A combination of Drew Brees and Russell Wilson

His improv and off-script game is outstanding. Some worry about his height, but with his frame and base I'm not even worried about it.

LOL. Never have sen him play but I was always a fan of Doug Flutie so why not. In fact if I run into Doug I'll ask him what he thinks. He lives around here.

He is 5’ 10” and 195lbs. I dont see him lasting in the pros. R. Wilson struggled a lot. But had an outstanding defense to bail him out. And wilson weighs 220. To take more punishment. I personally am not a fan of short qb’s. They can succeed. It’s just harder. But if I’m wrong and he kicks ***. I hope he is on our team.

If he's fast at reading defenses I'm in! I think it's doubtful he is going the football route though. Doesn't he already have a signing bonus from a baseball team or something?

    More like 5'8"-5'9"...lol

I don't really recall Wilson struggling with anything that was due to his height. Nor do I recall him getting bailed out. He was a rookie at one point and played like one a little bit, but overall he's been terrific since day one in the NFL.

And I don't get the worry over height in regards to QB's. I mean, Murray has been playing behind an o-line in college that's as tall as any NFL o-line. The defenses for college teams are the same size as NFL defenses. Sure, not all the players in college are NFL caliber, but a 300lb person hitting you is a 300lb person hitting you. Player get hurt no matter their size.

    Murray is phenomenal.

Flutie never had a problem with it either. Teams were constantly scared of his height but the guy won no matter where he was.

You do realize he is only 21 right? He's not going to stay at 195 - especially in the pro's where he will have all the proper training at his disposal. Normally I'd shy away from that height - but again look at his base i.e. legs and hips. That's where the throws actually come from ..... aside from that fact that dude can literally create passing lanes at a moment's notice.
