regardless of HC ect. and QB our schedule is very favorable to suck for Tua, or whoever is the #1 QB prospect.
Yeah, teams that fail on purpose disgust me. It shows the front office is incompetent and can't properly build a team. Notice how teams that take a dive often still suck with their shiny new QB? I mean, Luck was supposedly the best prospect in forever and the Colts are still a pretty bad team.
Well, the Colts finished the season by going 9-1 in their last 10 games. It took Luck a few games to get back into form after his injury, but the guy is playing lights out right now. (Sans that stupid INT he threw last night...lol...head scratcher) I mean, I think Luck has 40 TD's with only 15 INT's.
I agree. We need to instill a winning culture and even if it means sliding down in the draft we need go out and try to win every game. One thing I would like to see us improve this offseason is our team toughness. Sometimes I think our guys play like they are at the country club. I don't want a dirty team, but I would like to see us be one of those teams that other teams don't really want to play. A team like the Ravens. They bring it, and I want a team that brings it too!
Well, you can agree and be right or disagree and be wrong, it doesn't really impact me either way honestly.
The Colts have a franchise QB in Luck, an improved OL, and the defense has improved this year too. Just having a franchise QB puts them ahead of Miami, but the better OL makes it not even close.
I honesty believe site unseen we can be 8-8 next season with a new coach and a batch of new players. We’re not going to suck for luck part 2 the new coach isn’t going to go that route
Rebuilding doesn’t mean you have to suck. It means we build through the draft. We have young talented player on this team that gase didn’t like or play. If we draft a few good ones and sign some young free agents that fit our style I don’t see why we can’t be a team that is going to get back to 500 quickly.
That's not what he said- he specifically stated that he hoped we weren't 3-13, but he'd be okay with it if that's what it took. That's completely different than saying we're going to lose on purpose.
I'm just being sarcastic/jokingly snarky anyway, no offense meant. It didn't come across well since Id just woken up.
The Colts started off slow. Mainly because Luck was rusty. However, they've quietly finished the regular season by going 9-1 (after starting 1-5) with the 5th ranked offense and 10th ranked defense. They're very good.
It's fine if you think they are a good team, but the honest truth is they are a **** sandwich if you ever take the time to watch them play. Tannehill had that sort of record with Gase for a while. I don't see anyone who wants to defend him.
Tua is the real deal. Unless something unexpected happens, he quits or gets hurt, he will be either the 1st or 2nd pick (Trevor Lawrence being the other) in the draft he comes out in.
I've watched every game of theirs this season. I've watched about 6 of their last ten using All 22. They are a very good team and if their defense holds up I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they win the AFC.
I'll honestly be surprised if they win a playoff game, but we can disagree it's fine. Like I said I was only jokingly being an *** about it, whether they win or lose has no impact on me. I just dont see it. Same way I dont see Luck as elite, though he does have stretches.
The Texans have a great defense and their offense is top notch. And if the Texans win it won't be because the Colts suck. It will be because the Texans beat a very good team.
I might be using a bit of hyperbole. Obviously they don't suck, obviousoy they aren't actually a **** sandwich. My overall point was I don't think they are that great or leaps and bounds ahead of us.
Between Watson and Watt, they are. We simply don't have playmakers of that caliber. X might come somewhat close, but you can always just throw away from him. Trevor is a true freshman though - he's got 2 more years at least. Herbert and Fromm will compete for top spot though most likely. Agreed, Tua is legit.
He was talking about the Colts. Yeah, and most likely Tua and Lawrence will both be coming out the same year. CK has said many times that Tua's family have pretty much demanded that he graduate. Which will put him in the NFL draft 2021. Same as Lawrence.
I havnt studied the qbs that will be a Kai me this year or next but if your going g to do a legitimate tank you have to be 100 percent sure he’s the next Luck, Wilson, Mahomes, Watson.
so much for the professionals GMs of the world.. that position isn’t deserved by some thts why I do t think they know more than some who don’t have the position.
. All of those QBs, maybe Luck not included, went to teams that had elite aspects to them. Wilson, Mohomes, and Watson all went to teams with Elite Defenses. 2 went to coaches that have won the SB. All except Wilson have had very good O-lines. And All 4 have teams that tend to excel in the 2nd half of the season. The point is is that it wont matter who the QB is if the O-line still sucks and if the defense continues to hold teams to under 300 yards rushing.
What? Chiefs are not an elite defense at all. The Texans weren't last year either. Neither Mahomes nor Watson play for SB winning coaches, and Wilson helped Pete win his first. Watson and Wilson play behind some of the worst lines in the league. We should absolutely look at upgrading our OL and defense, but that does not preclude taking a QB if we have the chance and feel strongly.
As much as I know the offensive line on this team is the single worst aspect of it, if there is a qb they love in this draft they have to do everything they can to go get him.
What did you think of their OL? LT Anthony Castonzo drafted 1st/22nd/2011 LG Quenton Nelson drafted 1st/6th/ rookie OC Ryan Kelly drafted 1st/18th/2016 RG Mark Glowinski drafted 4th/134th/2015 Seahawks RT Braden Smith drafted 2nd/37/rookie
I was watching Wilson last night and he may be the best QB ever handling the pocket (or lack of one). The guy is simply unbelievable to watch under pressure and I think it's almost silly to compare him to mere mortals playing the game.
I really watched the Colts this year for the first time last week (besides when we played them)- Quenton Nelson is already at the next level in terms of All-Pros. I don't know where he's rated but I haven't seen a better guard in a very long time....he makes that offense and they essentially use him like a lead fullback from the guard position. The stuff they were running on offense all flowed thru him and it's true smash-mouth football....I was honestly jealous because our RB's are way better and can't do 1/4 the stuff they're doing. Glowinski looked average but I think it's because the rest of their line is so freaking solid- the Colts will be competitive for a very long time with that young line. To think that it's two rookies, a 3rd year and a 4th year....it's just insane that every NFL team doesn't go that route (Miami particularly).
