Raekwon and Jerome had higher PFF grades with lots of reps as sample size..
Film backs that up..he was ranked 69th..

He’s young I’ll give him that but no way over Minkah or any other first rounder in that range..

Edmunds had significantly better production than either McMillan or Baker this year. He had lot more tackles than either of them, way more PDs, more ints, more forced fumbles, more TFL, more QB hits.

PFF grades not withstanding, it was a very impressive season for the 20 yr old rookie.

Well all I say about this is that Edmunds is the guy I wanted in the 1st, but I don't think anyone saw Minkah dropping to us. I would still have preferred Edmunds but I'm fine with Fitzpatrick.

He’s young, we disagree on him as a player, I watched every one of his reps and I’m confident in my statement, I don’t think he will live up to top 15 draft status, and I think we all will be happy we didn’t go there with the 13 th pick, you do and I’m cool with that..

I think you are not taking into account all of the variables. He was a 20 year old rookie starting at middle linebacker in a defense which requires a lot from and puts a lot of pressure on the Mike. Offenses were targeting him all season and he got progressively better as the season went along. That tells you he is learning and once he has the mental aspect down and experience under his belt he will be great.

I was not mad at the Minkah pick I like Minkah, but I would have also been very happy if we had picked Edmunds or Derwin James instead.

I took in all the variables..just didn’t want to wait for him to develop instincts..

It’s ok we disagree, I do the work you do the work we have different opinions.

He’s another in a long line of NON difference making 1st round draft picks.

    Dude doesn’t have ball skills...

Like come on, dude. The guy has literally asked his agent to seek a trade. Just like I said, the Dolphins have jerked him around since the moment we got him.

It is clearly frustrating to him. He is on a team that is not trying to win, and now with two different coaching staffs, he still does not have certainty.

I think it is fair to say that it is frustrating to both me and him.

You were correct with your initial assessment of Minkah and the situation. However, I disagree the team (Flores and players) are not trying to win. There are a ton of things for our coaches and players to learn ( fundamentals, learning the scheme, improving their technique, etc.)over the next 15 games that can help us next season. No doubt this season will be tough, but that is the attitude I think the coaches and players should have.

This is a quote from the night Minkah was drafted. Is he a liar?

Yeah i love how this guy says all the right things to get drafted high but when it comes time to put up or shut up he wants out because Mom doesn't like how he's being used...WTF

The way the team has handled him has been complete BS. I don't blame him for asking for a trade. I wish we would have just given him a position and kept him there. It was literally that simple and all we had to do to keep this kids heart in Miami. Slot corner/starting corner and as he got older, move him to safety. I really think we're going to miss him once he's gone. I get tearing it all down and building it back, but we just drafted this guy a year ago and he's shown us no reason why we should trade him. He's been a good player for us. I think all he wanted was a definite position. Once again, we're getting rid of young talent that we should be keeping.

I’ll use this particular post to make the following statement...

If “the Dolphins” have jerked this guy around, what makes ANY if you think we would be a better team had we drafted Jackson? Ryan? Rodgers? Or any other “superstar” quarterback out of college? Any one of these quarterbacks would have utterly failed in the undisciplined, non-motivating environment that has been Miami since the retirement of Don Shula.

As an organization, the Dolphins in recent history have demonstrated they are a hot mess...and it won’t matter what quarterback we draft until the dysfunction of the Dolphins is purged

Football players are lucky to play a game and get paid for it..

So the premise that I should feel lucky that he graced us with his presence is ridiculous to me, jmo..
