SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO STILL HASN'T SEEN INFINITY WAR. (Go watch it right now if you haven't!)

Yesterday, Marvel released a number of character posters for Endgame (I first saw them on Instagram), with one set featuring characters who were (spoiler alert)....not around....at the end of Infinity War, and another set for those who still are, and will "avenge" them.

The two biggest reveals were that Valkyrie will be in End Game as a survivor, which had been speculated but not confirmed, and that Shuri didn't make it at the end of the last film. There has been a lot of talk about what role she would play in Endgame.

    One month to go!

Tomorrow is officially 4 weeks until I see it. I think I’m more excited for this than I am for GOT final season.

She's had a series of health issues and family concerns, and has stepped back, for sure. The older I get, the easier it is to forget how long ago some movies came out! Wanted was 2008, and Salt was 2010. Since then, shes voiced Tigress in the Kung Fu Panda movies (which I love), and then done Malificent and just a few other things.

Shang Chi will be the first Marvel movie I'm not stoked about. When the trailer comes out it might change my mind.

There have been others that I wasn't excited about when they were announced, but ended up really enjoying. I didn't know anything about Guardians other than an idea of who Rocket and Groot were, and its now one of my favorite movies of all time. Wasn't excited about Ant Man, and ended up absolutely loving it. I trust them.

I trust Marvel. Their castings have been incredible. I hated the Chris Evans casting (And I didn't like Captain America as a character) and he's now my favorite Avenger. Chris Pratt unexpectedly was perfect for the Guardians movies. Thor and Iron Man were perfectly cast. I can't think of any that were poor castings except Iron Fist on Netflix, but I don't think those were done by the same people.

Shang Chi was basically a Bruce Lee homage. There were even rumors years ago that Brandon Lee would play him in a movie. I'm obviously a fan of Bruce and I worry that any of these will just end up being cheesy. But Marvel has done such a good job that they have my trust.

Agreed. Thor is one of my least liked comic book character. I have just never liked him growing up.

Movie Thor is fantastic. Ragnorock and Infinity War are an amazing Thor 2 parter.

Myself I hope they go to four movies a year with 2 a year being experimented and/or mid range budget movies.

I want a Luke Cage movie where he attacks Doctor Doom in Latveria with the climax is Doctor Doom paying him the $200 he owes him for doing a job.

Rocket going up top Thor in the ship.
I like the humanity and desperation and clinging to some semblance of hope that Thor has in this scene.
Also the first time in a week that Thor had a chance to process all of the stuff that has happened.
Chris Helmsworth acted the hell out of that scene

I love the scene were Scarlett Witch and Vision crash through the glass into the train station. Promixa look towards something in the the shadows as the trains passing and once it’s done Capt steps out of the shadow.

The whole deal where the Guardians pick up Thor in space is terrific. I watched it again last week for the third time, and laughed just as much as the first time.

Honestly, there's not really a bad or dull scene in the whole two and a half hours.

I've read others speculate that X-Men characters might be sprinkled in here and there, sometimes clearly, and other times as Easter Eggs, before they become a real part of the universe. My personal guess is that they will be formally introduced as a smaller part of a big group movie, similar to how they've done with other characters.

I did hear a rumor that the after credit scene for Endgame involves Wolverine. What I heard was that you see a guy walking down a street at night. Two other guys come out of the shadows with guns and say, "give me your wallet". You see the claws come out and the scene ends. If true, I suspect that you never see the face, just a shot from the back and of the forearm.

I just saw on twitter a mention of discussions for Xmen vs Avengers. sounds like if it's true, it would be a very slow buildup towards it. may be several years down road after they reboot the xmen.

Yeah, I think that what will happen is that everyone will take time to process the fallout from Endgame, and what that means for the future of the whole MCU.

Then, they'll start tying loose ends with characters who are still around, whatever that ends up being. Black Widow, Guardians 3, Dr Strange, Black Panther, Spiderman, Ant Man, ect. It would be fun if some of the veteran characters buddy up with one another.

And we know that there are going to be many more movies starring Captain Marvel, in one form or another. It'll be interesting to see how those play out.

And along with that, we know that they're introducing new characters in their own movies as well. The Eternals, Shang Chi are already known to be in production. There likely will be more. How well those do will likely effect what they do with the characters going forward.

And THEN, once that all is in motion and things are moving forward down the line, they'll start introducing the characters that they acquired from FOX. Both Kevin Feige and the Russo Bros have said in recent days that there is no way it'll be any time soon. Whether that is wholly true, or they're just keeping things totally locked down, time will tell.

Here's a list of what are thought to be the next MCU release dates, always subject to change:

FULL LIST OF UPCOMING MARVEL MOVIES
    March 8, 2019 – Captain Marvel

    May 3, 2019 – Avengers: Endgame

    July 5, 2019 – Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel

    May 1, 2020 – Untitled Marvel Movie 1

    July 31, 2020 – Untitled Marvel Movie 2

    November 6, 2020 – Untitled Marvel Movie 3

    May 7, 2021 – Untitled Marvel Movie 4

    July 31, 2021 – Untitled Marvel Movie 5

November 5, 2021 – Untitled Marvel Movie 6 (we think it’s Doctor Strange 2, but Marvel is strangely quiet about his next adventure)

    February 18, 2022 – Untitled Marvel Movie 7

    May 6, 2022 – Untitled Marvel Movie 8

    July 29, 2022 – Untitled Marvel Movie 9

Same. Like others have said, Marvel has pulled out some big surprises (GotG namely). Shang Chi just strikes me as weird though, possibly because I have never heard of him until the movie was announced haha.

Favorite was probably Drak calling Thor a pirate angel, Thor calling Rocket a Rabbit, and Starlord getting all butthurt.
Most impact was Spiderman being ghosted - that was quite well acted, showing the fear and uncertainty of someone facing that situation.

Bonus: Rocket saying "Im gonna get me that arm" (or similar) was fantastic.

Shang Chi was born in the 70s and had a run of over 100 issues so he wasn't some obscure character. I think why they are bringing him in is he worked with Spider Man, Black Widow, Iron Man, Iron Fist, Moon Knight and was a part of the Avengers even at one point. He actually fought Thanos too lol. It seems to me that after Endgame they are going to have to scrabble together a new Avengers and Shang Chi will be a part of that. His comics were never as popular as the Avengers but they won alot of awards for artistry and story. His stories were different then the usual marvel fair in that they were more earth bound and involved alot of espionage and crime. He worked for MI6 and one of his friends was the son of James Bond. One of the quirks of the comic is that alot of characters were based on movie stars. There was a David Niven character, Marlon Brando, Sean Connery, etc...I dont know if they'll keep that but it was kind of funny. in the 70s he had zero special powers. He was just the best martial artist in all disciplines and his chi was so developed he could dodge bullets or deflect them with his wrist bracelets. In the 90s they gave him his first superpower. after he got hit with some radiation he developed the ability to make multiple beings of himself. i dont know if they'll keep that in the movie. I hope they dont. It just seemed kind of forced to suddenly give him a superpower. That was one of the points of Shang Chi. That you could develop almost superhuman abilities naturally through meditation and building your chi. Giving him a superpower later in life is almost cheap IMO

reading up on him since the announcement they say he is considered possibly the best hand to hand fighter in the entire marvel universe. i dont know what story they are going to do with Shang Chi but in the 70s it was one of the better written and more interesting comics out there. Now my tastes were a bit more eclectic then the average comic fan in that I wasn't into Spiderman, Hulk, Iron Man, Daredevil, Captain America or even X-Men that much. I found them kind of boring. I was into Warlock, Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider, Shang Chi, Man-Thing and the Defenders all of which had a smaller readership so my opinion may not be the best to judge whether its accepted by the masses.

What will be interesting to see is how they approach this. I think, for it to work, this doesnt have to be the greatest superhero movie but it does have to be the greatest martial arts movie. If it was me Iko Uweis from The Raid would be Shang Chi and Gareth Evans would have been the director. They went a different path with the director so we'll see but hopefully they get a real martial artist

Thank you for the insight! Natasha doesn't really have super powers in the MCU, so I don't think that they'll force them on him either.

Now that they reaquired the rights, it will be interesting to see when the fantastic four reappear. I'm not sure why, but in the comics it seemed that the fantastic four were involved in all of the biggest stories.....at least in the 70s and 80s. Probably won't happen this next phase but probably the one after that I would think
