I don't buy how this trade talk has been framed. I think it's more likely that the Dolphins have a secondary trade with Houston that's held up by what the Texans will receive for Clowney. And with cap space, the Dolphins might improve their compensation by helping Houston find additional trading partners for Clowney.

The secondary trade Miami may have lined up is for Kenny Stills, whose role in the offense was reduced when Miami didn't land their top choices for QB. He's an ideal fit for Houston's offense as Watson likes to look deep and has the ability to create time to get such passes off.

Philadelphia matches up well for a Clowney deal as they can swap DE depth for Clowney as Houston likely needs to replace some snaps, have a rookie LT that may not be needed this year if Jason Peters has return to form, and may need to get rid of Alston Jeffery for cap relief. If the Eagles win the Clowney sweepstakes, it may also result in a WR changeover with Stills going to Houston, Will Fuller going to Philly, and Alshon Jeffery ending up in Miami.

Great news...the drama ends and Tunsil stays home. That was probably the best possible outcome.

Yep, at least we learned what kind of value tunsil has in the market. Houston was willing to give up an early pick and clowney for him.. good to know..

Lets extend Tunsil.. cant give up a guy that has that kind of value, as in we cant let him walk and we stay with nothing

Great deal for Seattle. Helps that Clowney won't be a 1-2 year rental for them though -which is what Miami was facing.

Texans' Jadeveon Clowney: Traded to Seattle
    By RotoWire Staff
Clowney will be traded to the Seahawks upon passing his physical, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.

The details of the trade have yet to emerge, but it seems the talented pass rusher will be heading to the Seahawks. It's worth pointing out that Clowney, who held out throughout training camp in an effort to receive a long-term extension, isn't necessarily a lock to re-sign with Seattle. Instead the team is considering letting the 26-year-old play out his one-year, $15.9 million franchise tag in what amounts to an audition, with the Seahawks likely to receive a third-round compensatory pick should the 2014 No. 1 overall pick ultimately sign elsewhere next offseason. It's an interesting gamble, and one that could prove profitable for both parties if Clowney emerges as a truly dominant pass rusher in a new home. He's piled up 24.5 sacks in the last three years, but has yet to record 10 or more sacks in a single season, and has missed six games in the past four seasons due to various injuries.
