I must admitt watching Joe Burrow from LSU has me thinking he is a legit option for us for a future franchise Qb.Stats aside he looks better to me than Tua and his 5 yd passes that turn into 50 yd tds.Looking forward to LSU VS ALABAMA this year.

Despite all his acclaimed work with 3DQB, he needs to shore up that awful throwing motion before I even consider looking at him more as a pro. His throwing motion is too elongated, with his elbow too far from his body, and the point of the ball facing at times anywhere from 70 to 110 degrees away from the intended target, which can and will lead to a multitude of problems; such as but not limited to, timing consistency, accuracy, fumbles, etc. in the NFL.

Phillip river doesn't exactly have the prototypical throwing motion. And as for accuracy he has a 83% completion percentage while averaging 12.5 per attempt Watch the Texas game highlights.More impressive than anything Tua has done this year.

Burrow and Chase Young are both home-run selections, so it would be nice if we ended up picking 2nd behind Cinci. That will also be the only game in my history of being a Miami fan that I'll actually root for us to lose...it would be great to have a tie-breaker over Cinci in case we could somehow slip back into 1st place in the draft (sadly tho, I think we'll destroy Cinci).

I really don't see that as an apt comparison. Rivers' throwing motion was unorthodox but it was always very quick. CC was concerned about Burrow's throwing motion being elongated. My other concern with Burrow is that his arm strength is marginal. CK has charted and measured several of his throws and it's no longer debate-able. Burrow's arm strength is clearly below that of prospects like Tua, Fromm and obviously Herbert, Love or Eason. That's going to make his margin for error at the next level smaller than it is for Tua and most other top prospects. I'm not saying he can't be successful. And I think his exceptional anticipation and accuracy bode well, but it is a concern.

Yep, because CK said it, it must be true.

Am I the only one here who remembers when CK was just a normal dude? His opinions arent any more accurate than anyone elses here in my experience.

Also charting several throws is a terrible way to gauge arm strength to begin with. Youd have to know if the QB was even attempting to throw it ad hard as possible, his body position, ect.

Arm strength is probably the easiest thing to add as well so it's sort of irrelevant unless you're Chad Pennington level of noodle arm.

His arm strength being marginal is pretty obvious to anybody with any experience scouting QBs. And it has been a knock on Burrow for a long time that he himself has tried to improve. CK's numbers just quantified and verified the obvious.

His arm strength once again looks nfl ready to me and you can't deny he has the it factor! Not sure why you guys think Tua has this great arm because its average at best.
Burrow as I have been saying since sept is the better player by far this year! Not to mention he is not made out of glass.

There's no question that Burrow's arm strength is below Tua's. It's so obvious it shouldn't even be a a debate. Nobody has ever called Tua's arm strength "great". It's good, but not special. Whatever Burrow's arm strength is, it's below Tua's. If you're calling Burrow's arm strength "NFL ready" then you should be calling Tua's "NFL ready +". That's not how I would rate them but it is the logical conclusion from your statements.

Burrow has been the best college QB this year, but that doesn't make him the best NFL prospect. If not for the injury concern then I would have Tua as a better NFL prospect, easily. I'm waiting on more medical news and for Tua to be further along in his recovery before I come to any conclusions about where I would rank him now. Obviously people will have to come to their own conclusions on how much to weigh the injury issue.

I like Burrow as a prospect. I love his accuracy and anticipation (although I do think his accuracy numbers are bit inflated due to how many 50/50 balls went his way). I also love his pocket sense, leadership and toughness. But his arm strength is borderline. There will be some NFL throws he can't make. How often those throws would be required will depend on the system he goes to. He reminds me of something between Gardner Minshew and Tom Brady. That's not bad at all.

Naw not with this line. Don't matter who you get Brady or Rodgers this Offense would not be a top tier team without a proper line. They would be better but we would be out in 1-2 rounds in the playoffs.

This thread is a reminder of who we are as evaluators. Just laying out opinions and hoping.
