Dolphins coach Brian Flores blew a gasket on the field, accosting referee Craig Wrolstad in an incident partially captured by CBS cameras. For the outburst, per a league source, Flores was fined by the league office $25,000. “Look, it’s an emotional game, and it’s not really my anger,” Flores said after the 22-21 loss to the Jets. “It is my anger, but it’s for the players, you know? I’m upset for them because I watch them work on a day-to-day basis. I watch them meet and walk through. I see how important it is to them. I watch them lay it on the line for each other. That’s where that emotion comes from. This is not about me. I’m more about serving those players. That’s what that is. . . . It’s about those players, the coaches, the cafeteria people and the equipment staff and everybody in this organization. We all put a lot into this. Winning is important to us.”
While I appreciate his commitment and passion he needs to get that under control. That should call for a run to the TNT wall. Gotta keep your head in the game coach.
I've been hard on Flores but I think he is a good coach. However, I was kind of embarrassed because the call wasnt a bad one. Someone on the staff needed to be communicating upstairs and telling Flores to cool off because the call was legit. I'm not putting it just on Flores but rather organizationally. If I thought the call was even 50/50 I'd be all for it.
I like it a whole hell of a lot more than Wanny and his lobster traps and "Fail Forward Fast" or, Philbin and his color co-ordinated motivational posters. Still, have to wonder if any of the players were paying attention. As a team they seem to have taken a step back this past weekend.
I like seeing the fire too. I think it's great. But if it was to get to the point where he got kicked out of the game or got an unsportsmanlike penalty it wouldn't be good for the team. It's like a guy throwing punches at that point. Head Coach needs to be above that IMO. Not like baseball where a manager getting thrown out is a fun part of the game. Loved me some Lou Pinella
Wasn't the outburst at the end of the game? If so, no penalty would be applicable to the team and I bet the players love to see that fire from their HC (I certainly did, rather that than Gase's face like a slapped arse look). Still thought it was a bad call
I like his fire! I wish my bosses defended me and my co-workers with the same passion. Sometimes things are so busy we end up getting our backsides kicked. Our bosses respond with what is essentially a shrug of their shoulders.
Like I said, I like fire but I hate the timing. The call wasnt even close. I was super shocked they didnt throw the flag in real time.
First. Would a MOD please fix the title and for the love of football spell the mans name correctly. Second. Watching the play live I said they got away with a PI. Don't think coach was pissed about the call. He should have been and I'm certain he was pissed about it being a booth review in the first place. THAT never should have happened especially with how that rule has been interpreted this year. I have watched a LOT of other football games and can't recall another BOOTH review of a NON CALL of a PI. That was BS and Flores had every right to be flamed about it. Totally respect him fighting for his men. Changed the outcome of the game which no ref call should ever do. However, he has built a program that prides itself on playing clean. They are the least penalized Dolphins team in years. Among the least penalized in the league this year. TNT wall. Coach has to be pure if he wants to preach is all I'm saying.
LOL! I can relate because I totally suck at spelling. As long as we know what the poster is trying to convey, right?
It's hilarious you said that last sentence, because I always say that in real life. Just substitute "ppsters" for people in general. Intelligence and how much we know are two totally different things after all. Someone can be highly intelligent and not be great at spelling or know every little fact. Same in reverse, some people know tons of facts but stink at applying them. As long as a person is functional and we all get each other, it's not a big deal.
100% agree! Off-topic a bit: I am probably a little weird, but I pick my friends based on how kind they are, not how smart they are or what they can do for me. :-)
What's a Z or S between friends. LoL. Puka - I know in the ivory tower that is club all the names and words are perfect. We just the common folk down here on the main board. Please don't judge me so harshly as even though I am a club member, (people need to carry the weight if they participate IMO) I'm clearly not a Club member. Or maybe I'm just a jackarse that get's a thought into his head and just bangs it out in a hurry as I only have a few stolen minutes at work to post my nonsense on this board and just phonetically spell stuff. I know it's a run on sentence. Forgive me. Probably the later.
Not being a Grammar nazi or anything. Don't generally care about punctuation and spelling in posts. But I find it disrespectful to spell a persons name wrong. Especially when it has been widely disseminated and out there for all to see. Probably comes from all the years of people spelling my name Brain instead of Brian. 4th grade teacher Mrs Hoover wrote it up on the blackboard that way and the kids were merciless. Still hate that teacher.

Obviously. That was the year I got glasses and went into the gifted and talented program too. I really am a "Brain" but back in those days it was not cool to be a nerd.
