Considering they just gave up a first-round pick and they are going to pay Buckner... I wonder if they think there is a chance that Luck comes back this season to play?

Luck is healthy and he just retired last year because he was a little banged up and emotionally worn out. But Luck is only what 31? So there is plenty of life left in the legs and gas in the tank.

When I saw how they overpaid for Buckner and the amount they agreed to give up to get him...The only reason I can think of is that Luck is coming back... and they are showing him that they will protect him.

    Thoughts?

    No idea.

It wouldnt be entirely shocking if he cane back one day, but I'm not sure this one move says it will be this year.

Everything his dad has said for the last year has suggested that Luck has barely thought about football let alone is considering returning.

I agree. Now, none of us know for sure, but he seems like the type who's made up his mind and moved on. They've been connected to Rivers a lot, so we'll see how that plays out over the coming days. But they seem highly unlikely to be replacing Brissett with a rookie for 2020.

And again this is just me thinking out loud. Why would the colts pay Such a heavy price when they need a QB? Unless they had some inkling that Luck might come back and this move would give them a beast O line for when he steps onto the field?

How about he comes out of retirement on the grounds that he is traded to the Patriots?

Because they will get Rivers and are just working on the final details?

Luck is a different dude, he very intentionally set himself up early on so that football wasn't a necessary part of his life or income. He doesn't need football.

I am not disputing that Luck has to play football... Luck has the smarts to be a brain surgeon... Some guys play for the money etc... Luck is not that type of person.

I do not see the Colts bringing in Rivers, but stranger things have happened. We have a poster here that thinks Rivers is the second coming of Buddha ... I bet he thinks Rivers wins a ring in Indy

I've read that thread and honestly I don't think Rivers is as good as he says or as bad as you say.

I find him redundant to Fitz but if we didnt have Fitz, I'd go for a 2 year deal.
