What do you think the chances we get the game of the week this week on Fox? The only other game will be the Steelers destroying the Cowboys. I know both of those teams have a large fan base so I doubt we get it.

I could see us getting it, but I could also see us NOT getting it.

Tua might actually help us get it, I think they could get a large national audience to watch his second start.

    I'd say it's honestly 50/50.

There are a lot of big games next week so I doubt it.

    Sea/Buf
    Ten/Chi
    Bal/Ind
    NO/TB

Eitter way, it’s cool to be relevant again.

Dolphins are on CBS for me at 4:25. I don't think it will get Fox Game of the Week.

I'm not sure on the rules of scheduling, like if they are allowed to flex that game into the Fox lineup and replace it on CBS or if CBS has full control over it.

It seems the Phins schedule was designed for hype-worthy matchups of young QBs.

    Kyler Murray
    Justin Herbert
    Drew Lock
    Sam Darnold. LOL NM!
    Joe Burrow
    Pat Mahomes
CAM!!! He's old and will probably be benched by then.
    Derek Carr
Josh Allen - potentially for the division.

The Steelers and the Cowboys are the two most popular teams in the NFL and get huge ratings on their own. Putting them head to head is a no brainer for the NFL and the networks. Its printing money. We could have the best record in the AFC going against the best record in the NFC and our game still wouldn't beat that one out.

We have a shot to get a decent size broadcast zone the next week when we face the Chargers, with Tua and Herbert drawing interest. The other games we're up against are Buffalo/Arizona, both of which have small fan bases, and Broncos/Vegas.

I'm still not used to seeing "Vegas" yet...it feels so strange!

I often get mixed up when teams do that. I still call the Chargers San Diego most of the time. But with the Raiders its been easy. Maybe because they moved from the dump that they were in to a beautiful new place and it looks cool.

Despite our struggles we still have a fairly strong national fanbase compared to a lot of teams.

I agree with what you said though.

We really do. I have argued that the Fins might be unique in US pro sports as a team with a relatively small local fanbase, but a strong national one.

I dont think it's that our fanbase is small, it's sort of that in South Florida a lot of people wont spend time and effort not to mention money on a losing team.

Even the Marlins can draw a crowd when they are winning/in the postseason to a degree, and we have a joke that Marlin fans dont exist.

South Florida is very very fickle. If we were winning I have 0 doubt we would consistently pack the house.

Different point of view, I'm sure. I grew up near Pittsburgh, and people in that area eat, sleep and breathe football 365, regardless of how their team is doing. I talk about the NFL and college football on the phone with my mom every Sunday, nearly year round.

I think the issue is that here sports compete with a lot of other entertainment, South Beach, the Hard Rock, concerts, so on.

Obviously some of those things can exist other places, but at the end of the day they are pretty huge here and you're either rich or broke in South Florida, not much "Middle Class" in between for most areas.

Going to a game can be pretty expensive when its all said and done, and I can understand the average fan not wanting to blow the money on a game they expect to lose.

That said, we are turning this ship around so no more excuses!
