Woah, that's confirmation that they're looking at trading back; biggest news of the day. Because think about it, you can't trade back if you ship that pick off for Watson.... I actually believe that we're standing firm with Tua and I think that's the right move.
Having two guys with different perspectives as Co-offensive coordinators is not confidence inspiring. You need guys who will work off of one another, not battle over which philosophy is top dog. Just adding a little gloom. I expect as professionals they will figure it out and work with Tua's strengths.
I guarantee you that he didn't mean to say that, but because he did then I have a feeling they're already fairly deep into trade talks with multiple teams for #3 overall. The dream scenario would be a bidding war where someone overpays and we pick up an extra 2nd (and an extra 1st next season). That would absolutely tickle me. I know some folks are down on our recent picks, but there's no doubt that this front office is masters of manipulating the draft board. Some mocks have us moving back twice in the top 10 and that honestly wouldn't shock me anymore.
IMHO, I think he meant to say it... he told his target audience, teams in the top 10... that number 3 is available if they want it. That’s what I got out of that...
Agreed. This Dolphins brass are usually pretty upfront. Last year everyone knew they were Looking to address QB and O line. And predictably they did exactly that. it seems like everything is primed for a trade back this year. Why deny it ? I’m predicting we move to #6. Carolina seems trigger happy to get their QB if reports are accurate!
He set the range of what we'll consider for a trade. We can't trade until teams know what the Jests are going to do though, so if anybody's hoping we make a move before draft day, we probably won't. The only teams that would deal with us right now are those who think that Lance and/or Fields is comparable value to their systems with Wilson and we're only willing to drop so far (~10). We probaly have a handful of low-ball offers right now. Once #2 is decided, I'd suspect the war room phone to blow up as teams make their final pitches.
