I didn't even see that you had posted this one when I shared something very similar in another thread. :chuckle:

They also have a 34 year old first year OC, and a 27 year old first year QB coach to boot.

I think its pretty safe to say that they're going to struggle to move the ball against the Dolphins and Patriots this season, among others. Their second and third games are against the Pats and Broncos, two of the top five secondarys in the league. Wilson could start the year with a ton of picks.

Yea, not having a veteran with game experience on the roster is weird.

You are the guy who looks up stuff like this. Has a team in the modern era (after 1978 let's say) ever started the season with a quarterback that hasn't thrown a regular-season pass?

I'm not sure. I can dig into it, but that's not something that's easy to figure out unless you have some insight. There was a bit of a discussion about it in the comments of the Instagram post I shared in the other thread, but just people asking. No one with an answer.

Obviously historically, teams who have a rookie starter also have a veteran backup. I could start with the past 15 years or so when rookies have played the most and check to see who those backups are. The hindrance is that when you go back far enough in PFR, it only lists positions for players who saw game action, so if a guy spent the whole year on the bench, he just has his name and number. They also sometimes miss guys like that entirely also.

For example, Peyton Manning threw every pass as a rookie for the 1998 Colts. PFR doesn't list Kelly Holcomb on the team at all, but he was their backup QB.
