I love how your arrogance is directed at me, where my arrogance is directed at the ineptitude of the team.

I could reciprocate, but I’ll be the bigger man

My arrogance? No, it's simply arrogant to think you're so knowledgeable about football (a claim you've made so many times) that you can build a team that would hardly ever lose a game. We've all attacked the ineptitude of the team without acting like we're football geniuses. You however think you're a football genius. You're not.

And if you can finally admit you're no better than the rest of us with your so-called "football knowledge", then yes you'll be "the bigger man".

I was doing the math in my head the other day. If 250,000 of us could invest $10,000 each, we could buy the Dolphins for $2.5B.

I know that sounds like a lot- but someone with a 700 credit score could probably get a $10k signature loan relatively easy these days. Could we find 250,000 Fin fans that would be interested though? Would we make any money at all from our investment? I have no idea since we can't see financials, but it's fun to think about anyway.

But I also don't want Tua. Lol

Absolutely. Even more so that he wants to be here. Especially since Tua's game doesn't even whisper 'high-octane' offense. But wanting it to happen doesn't mean it will get done. If I've learned anything as a Dolfan, the franchise does the opposite of what I think is the best decision.

Regardless of all the noise one thing is certain. Watson has an arm, Tua doesn't. Watson has accuracy, Tua is questionable beyond 10 yards. With all other things being equal (which they aren't but lets say they are) that's more than enough to do the trade for me.

No, you always have to look at the whole picture. Just looking at one aspect of the equation and putting too much weight on that is what gets us into making bad decision after bad decision. Yeah Watson is a better QB and has a better arm than Tua, but his off field issues and the massive draft capital we have to give up for him is not worth it.

I say pass on this trade for Watson, get a new GM, scouting dept, and FO in here who has an actual proven track record of success, then work from there.

Willing to bet his off the field "issues" will be resolved by the start of next season. Maybe you should be looking at the whole picture. We haven't been able to draft d*** for 20 years. In light of this "big news..." Watson plz. And if we ever do land someone who can draft, then he should be able to make enough big lands in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to give us a chance to be competitive team coupled with Free Agency.

You could give us 3 extra first round picks and it wouldn't make Tua more than what he is, and certainly not Grier. Have you "fans" not learned anything about draft capital (is meaningless) when you have a doofus drafting?

Some things are like clock work in Miami. Can't draft, Can't find a decent HC worth backing long term, can't find a viable answer at QB since Marino. I'd love to eliminate that last one.. It just gives me a little hope.

I am at the point where finding new coach and new Gms has not worked in 20 years.
**** it!Go all in on Watson because we have nowhere to but up after not winning a playoff game in soon to be 21 years.
It can't get any worse and as we proved in 2020 draft picks are overated!

Speaking just in football terms (because I doubt any team trades for Watson before clarity on the legal issues), we know Watson doesn't need a good OL to play well, and we also know he plays at a high level even when the rest of the team isn't playing well — he's already proven both — but you're not going deep in the playoffs with Watson without a good defense.

So you still need to find the right coach/GM or we'll be stuck with an elite QB with little postseason success. What are the chances we get the coach/GM part right even if we get the QB right lol. (Ross sticks his head in to answer that question!)

This regime doesn’t deserve to have the authority to make this move. They should fire everyone this week. If ross wants watson he should make the trade himself. I dont want any part of watson but if the dolphins do trade for him I dunno how you let the current clowns in charge do it.

Drew Rosenhaus says the Dolphins will get the DeShaun Watson deal done within the next two days. Mike Florio is reporting Watson is negotiating a settlement with the 22 women. He also said Houston caught wind of the settlement talks and increased their demands which caused the deal to fall apart last week. Talks could heat up again quickly.

I don't understand why Watson would want to come to this toxic mess at this point.

I don't understand why Ross would allow the architects of this disaster to kneecap the next 3 years worth of drafts.

It is insane to me that, at this point, people are so against trading for Watson.

First off, we don't know all the true details of the case. We have a little info and a lot of speculation.

I don't know the details, but this is something about the culture today. We are always hearing about someone who comes out with an accusation about a famous person and then there is this long list of people who follow suit. It is often really just a lot of people who are looking to get paid and the system and culture of society today often allows that to happen. It is an extremely overly sensitive and PC culture today. It's all mostly loads of hypocrisy.

Language is very important in these cases. I mean, calling him a "sexual predator" at this point is nuts. Look at the language. A sexual predator sounds like he is hiding in bushes, foaming at the mouth waiting for a girl to walk buy, so he can then jump out and attack her, have sex with her and then do some Jefferey Dommer stuff on her. Language is important.

The list of psychotic stuff that I personally have seen women do is long and there is no accountability or justice in any case.

Something that really bothers me on message boards, is this "Holier than thou" attitude that always happens in these cases. Yeah, we are all a bunch of saints and angels on here. Sure.

From the football side of things; are some of you kidding me? This guy is an amazing, young QB. How long has it been since we've had one? Holy dung! QBs like this just never become available at his age?

What has this team greatly lacked since Marino? Uhhhhh...another great, franchise QB! ....and people are like; "No. Just stick with Tua. Build an online around him, etc, etc, etc.". Are you kidding me? It's insane! No, I am sorry, it is certainly official, Tua is not the guy and never will be. It is better to stop deluding yourselves now. Do you see what's happening with this team now? This is really bad. Watson is an extremely good QB and this team would certainly not be in this shape if he was our QB.

Now, does it extremely bum me out that Tua is not the guy and do I feel extremely bad for him?, YES!! Very much!!! However, what can we do???? The FO office completely screwed up bad in their drafting along with some other moves. That's just the reality. It is time to stop the excuse making and try to focus on moving on and hoping they eventually get it right in our life times.

This staff has to go. Top to bottom, including Flo. If they bring in another veteran offensive coach to assist Flo, maybe he can stay, but if they don't do that, Flo has to go as well. Just too many f ups this year.

I am really just hoping that the issues with Watson end up not being too serious and they sign him or I am afraid we as Phin fans are going to have to pray to the football Gods that we get extremely lucky somewhere along the line soon.

My man, the internet is "the new bushes" to hide in. Between all the gals that testified for/against him, he had over 40 total massage therapists in two years. That alone is worrying.

I do agree with you that a lot of those people were probably jumping on a bandwagon and there's not 22 legit cases. But is there one? Was there one time he was getting a massage and did something inappropriate? We already know there probably was by his own text messages and the way he apologized to a few of the women. And I'm sorry bro, that's not okay in my book. I have daughters around that age and I can't look at them and say, "Yeah, it's not like he raped those women or anything...what he did was probably okay."

I completely understand the argument that he's an amazing talent. I completely understand that everyone makes mistakes. But when you're hiring 40+ girls to massage you, this isn't an "oops" type of moment. My personal guess is that he was hiring prostitutes and he probably miscalculated on a few. That would be easy enough to do these days with Tik Tok and such, how women of the night advertise themselves online. But that doesn't make it right either. And somehow, paying them off to stay quiet makes it even worse in my book.

I don't want Watson in Miami...Tua's my quarterback. If Watson becomes our quarterback then I'll figure out whether or not I'm still a Dolphins fan. Honestly, I'll probably "get over it" and still root for Miami, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it today.

My "moral high ground" here is simple- we should all respect women.

At this point all the allegations are directly from a lawyer with an agenda.
22 is a big number and, the charges are serious but, IMO accepting unquestionly the word of a lawyer when there's money on the table is as naiive as believing the campaign promises of a politician. Nothing has been proven
The issue of compensation and giving up draft choices however, is not in doubt.

His side already said that sexual encounters happened. They simply state that everything was consensual.
I don't know that they agree that was the case for all 22 allegations but they've explicitly stated that was the case at some level.
So what we definitely have is a guy who engages in sexual encounters with massage therapists and who seeks out lots of young therapists.
That much is clear, and is concerning.

It's concerning that the face of a franchise get paid millions of dollars chooses to pursue casual sexual encounters by contacting massage therapists. At best that carries the appearance of being extremely shady and runs the risk of confusion. You don't call for a massage with the intention of it turning sexual. You certainly don't do it as an influential sports star.

That's really no one's business though. If it's legal and consensual, who cares. The guy likes banging massage therapists. So only choir boys can be the face of the franchise? Would you care to guess the things that Csonka, Kiick and Morris were doing in the 70s? Maybe the Dolphins should see if Tim Tebow is free.

Him getting consensual happy endings wouldn't really move the needle much for me in terms of being upset. Maybe mildly questionable decision making but ultimately no big deal.

But realistically you are never going to get dozens to go along with it without running into some that aren't. Once you run into even one that is uncomfortable anybody decent would have some second thoughts about doing it again.

Indeed. 'Happy endings' isn't the point. If he really wants to pay for sex there are places to do that - although I would argue that's not acceptable behaviour for an NFL starting QB, or you know, a man. The dude is getting paid the big bucks, he can control himself for a few years at least.

Either way, you don't sex out sex by contacting regular massage therapists and hope/look for it to turn sexual. 'Unprofessional' doesn't even begin to describe that behaviour.

It literally is someone's business. It's Stephen Ross' business, it's the NFL's business. It's literally a business. Like it or not a franchise QB is the face of that franchise. Lots of kids looking up to him etc. Beyond that, and the MAIN issue here, is that it's one thing for a guy to meet a massage therapist and ask her out on a date (although that also enters a professional grey area). It's something else to call up a therapist for a massage with the intention of it turning sexual. He likes massage therapists? Fine. Date them. Don't call them up for a massage with the plan to seduce them.

What percentage of NFL players do you think bang strippers 3 at a time on any given night. It's what they do. Again, if it's legal and consensual, who is anyone to tell him he needs to follow certain rules to get some ***?

I sincerely don't think you've read the posts here.
Going out and finding a date is one thing. Calling for a professional service and expecting it to turn sexual is something else. It leads to precisely this sort of scenario - and we're only talking best case here. As another poster said, if you take that approach of calling for massages and looking for sex you're going to find some women who will and some who won't and now it's a scenario. As a high-value sports star you cannot be calling up young women looking to make a career in sports medicine/therapy in some way and proposition them like that. It's like a sports version of a casting couch scenario.

You may not agree with it but Watson can't have his cake and eat it. He can't be a prominent sports star, the public face of the franchise, and engage in sexual practises that are, at best, shady.

I agree that it's shady and not sometng that I would do but I truly don't care what a player on a team that I root for does.... As long as it's not illegal. He most likely wouldnt need to call massage therapists in hopes of getting laid. I'm sure there are plenty of gold diggers that would be more than happy to do whatever he wanted but maybe he's weird and likes the massage therapist thing. Who's to judge what other people like sexually?

That last question is the thing. It's not about what he likes sexually or judging what he likes, it's about the way he seems to be going about it. Again, this is all assuming complete innocence on his part. The problem is that he is mixing things up and causing a potentially risky situation. He's calling legit therapists for massages and then looking for them to turn sexual. He's calling professional therapists and hoping they're okay with a bit of prostitution. It's stupid at best. It's dishonorable. And it's not a choice a man can make who also wants to be a leading public sports figure. And all of this without considering the position he's putting young, professional women in.

Again, I think it's shady and not very smart. That being said, if he's found to be innocent, is what he did/does enough for you to not want a top QB on your team? Also, if all of these women settle for money, id be inclined to believe it was all bull ****
