Only just spotted this one from a couple of weeks ago.

Best video I've seen in a while!

    Go get em Zac!

5:51 on... somebody go get the aloe vera - Grier is going to need it.

Unfortunately, I strongly disagree. He certainly is the problem. I truly wish he was the guy, but unfortunately, he is not. It is a bummer,

    Utterly wrong.

No-one is saying that Tua doesn't have problems. Perhaps one might want to say Tua is a problem. But the problem? Nah. Not even close. THE problem is far bigger than Tua. Bad management, inability to build an OL. Poor development. Can't keep and/or attract quality coaching staff. Frequent scandals. In no way, at all, is Tua THE problem. Not even close.

Really? What does Tagovailoa have blocking for him? What running game does he have? WHO is he throwing the ball to, Parker? Ford? Williams? The only reliable receiver he has is Gisecki and Gaskins because the offensive playbook is a page right of Offense of Dummies.

If Tua really tried to FORCE passes, his TD to interception ratio would be 3-1...in favor of interceptions...as would any of the "elite" quarterbacks in the league. Tagovailoa still has to clean up part of his game but with what he has...what's being called, you couldn't ask for anything more. This would be a whole different conversation if he was missing receivers that were WIDE open for big gains. This would be a whole different conversation if he was missing passes by a mile, or trying to force ill advised passes, but none of this is true.

This TEAM is terrible, but Tagovailoa is by no means "terrible" and not ***THE*** problem.

You're entitled to an opinion for sure, but I just don't see what you see. I'm not sure what else we should be expecting from him right now. The ENTIRE team is a mess on both sides of the ball! Did you watch the Kurt Warner video? He literally has no time to throw the ball while everyone is well covered, and yet he's still making the right decisions with his throws. Get the offensive line to function at least in an average capacity, find an offensive coordinator who isn't using crayons and a coloring book to draw up his schemes, and lets see what he can do. Seriously....We have co-parenting offensive coordinators. Only in a pre-school for five year olds would that work. This franchise is the most dysfunctional I have ever seen it in the history of me watching this team, but to say that Tua is the problem is beyond ridiculous. I just don't know what people should expect from him working in these conditions. I say we clean it up, get some stability around him and go from there. If he's not dramatically improved and winning us games by then, then yeah...I'll be willing to say he's not the answer.

This is the 3rd time he’s missed games in Miami. His durability is definitely an issue. We are never going to trust him to stay healthy which means we’re going to need the best back up QB in the NFL.

Nah man, you replace him. Lots of options. Not many good ones, but lots.

However, it was curious that he was designated the backup - clearly he was able to play, but the coaches decided not to have him go. Will be interesting to see if we get more information. Perhaps they felt Houston was bad enough to still have a good win probability even with Brissett in the game and didn't want to risk further injury jeopardizing his season - and more importantly - any further evaluation. Who knows if that's actually the case though.

Tua is injury prone. Even a strong wind can break a bone on him. He didn't play because he has a broken middle finger on his throwing hand. Nuff said, no big mystery.

Stop with the excuse making for Tua. If only he had a perfect team around him he would succeed, well guess what this is the NFL. You get drafted high you don't get a perfect team. Herbert didn't get a perfect team and he still blew up the league. In fact, just so you get an idea of how utterly clueless Grier and the FO is, aside from the Herbert whiff, we would actually have been better off drafting Jaylen Hurts and Devonta Smith over Tua and Waddle.

This team has so many problems its hard to evaluate players properly imo. I dont think it matters at this point though im pretty sure this coaching staff wants nothing to do with tua. Really going to have to wait to see what ross decides because if watons legal issues dont clear up in the off season or he gets traded to another team i would love to know this teams plan as they clearly dont want to develop tua.

I'm glad we agree. Chris Grier is likely a major issue, maybe THE main issue, maybe it's Ross. There's also the coaching. Maybe that comes down to Grier too, there's too much known. Is Flores handicapped by Grier in that we can't bring in good coaches? I can't say for certain. What I can say is that until this team starts to maximise talent instead of sabotaging it, until we can build a solid OL, until we can get players over-achieving - like we almost saw last year - until we can see some courageous and smart play-calling, this team will remain in the NFL dumpster.

Still very early in Tagovailoa’s career in Miami, but all of this naysaying talk sounds sooooo familiar to me. Where have I heard all of this before?

Oh yea…all of the years I listened to the naysayers about Tannehill. How has that worked out for him and the Dolphins?

Everybody needs to relax. I am the guy who wanted Herbert when he had "maturity issues" and questioned Tua's physical abilities. I am telling you guys, there has not been a single moment when I have thought about moving on from Tua this season.

First of all, stats lie. Tua had better stats last year, but I can assure you he looks way more comfortable this year. There is no doubt in my mind that he has gotten better.

This is a huge thing that everyone needs to really think about. Are Tua's problems fixable? Absolutely yes. He has made a few stupid passes in the last few weeks, but as a whole, he has looked good. Is he missing some concepts and pre-snap reads? Yup. I really think there are about 7 plays per game that he needs to do better on, and if he can cut out the really bad moments, it would be even better.

Guys, he is young and learning. Could these 7 bad plays be down to 5 by the end of the season? I think that is totally reasonable.

Our line is so bad at the moment, we really cannot stretch the field. This is not on Tua at all.

Our WR essentially needs to be rebuilt. Again, not Tua.

R-E-L-A-X, or this will be RT17 2.0 where we will see him succeed elsewhere.

I member when folks said Tannehill was the problem, until he went to a franchise that can actually build a football roster.

The morons in the front office are always hoping for some magic panacea QB to come in and hide all their failures. The Watson trade interest in light of the poor roster construction all but confirms this theory. Always looking for shortcuts instead of putting in the work of hiring scouts, evaluators and competent coaches. A competent GM to validate the appraisals with apt contracts while incentivizing performance correctly.

“Nah, just need a known “star QB” in the building, and we good trust me. Everything else will fall into place.”

It’s hard to believe how putrid the OL has been, and how disappointing the WR corps has been as well. Other than Waddle and Gesicki, I would keep none of them. Every year, we are misled by the fool’s gold of a bunch of training camp heroes that cannot get open, catch, or stay on the field once the season starts. Dump the lot of ‘em, sign a proven FA or two, and draft a couple more.

As far as the OL goes, I’d hire the best OL coach money can buy and give them carte blanche to turn this unit around.

It's not a false narrative, and Tua is not even as good as Tannehill. At least Tannehill had an NFL arm and was durable. Tannehill has done very well when put on a great team, but he is not the type of QB who can put a team on his shoulders, and even with a great team he has not won a Superbowl.

Tannehill is not, and should not be considered an elite franchise QB, and neither will Tua ever be.

I agree. He's got to play more to see if he's the solution. The jury is definitely still out. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, but the nagging injuries do give me pause.

How will we know if he's the problem? I doubt even Tom Terrific could play well with this coaching staff and behind this line:

I don't think he's the problem, but I'm not sure he is the solution either, which some folks have already noted. Gotta be available. He's got this season to show his stuff at this point, let it fly young man.

Yeah, I think people have been so brainwashed into thinking the only thing that mattes on a team is the qb that they cant look past any of the other inefficiencies on the dolphins atm. I've said it for weeks now but i dont think its actually possible to evaluate any talent on this offense because the oline is so horrendous currently. I do feel like the coaching staff doesnt want tua though i dunno if hes a problem behind the scenes or what but it just comes off that way its weird tbh.

Yes, our oline is terrible, but let's not use the oline as a scapegoat to excuse the poor performance of Tua and everyone else on the team. Reality check, the chargers had the NFL's worst ranked offensive line last year, and Herbert still managed to win ROY.

Less weird if you think the front office has major fissures with the head coach. It makes sense to me and would answer some of the questions brought up during last year and this Watson business.

Im not scapegoating anyone. I'm saying you cant properly evaluate them. Tua has not played well enough from what we've seen from him but hes also been night and day better than brissett. Tua sack % on drop backs is pretty good because hes getting the ball out so fast but it also feels like hes shellshocked back there and doesnt trust the line to hold up ever. Which is why when he has time to throw sometimes you see him do like a jump fade throw falling backwards. Like the dude feels hes going to get hit on every drop back. I'm also willing to bet without looking it up that Herbert didnt have a 64% pressure rate last season on drop backs. This is a historically bad oline.

You keep touting Herbert. Well yippie Kay yea…what was the Chargers record last season…or this season for that matter?

I so get a kick out of so many posters pointing to the one or two exceptions and those exceptions are the RULE for NFL quarterbacks.

The RULE in the NFL is if you don’t have an effective offensive line, the the chances of your offense putting up points on the board and winning games is highly unlikely.

Imagine…had the Dolphins had an effective offensive line…and an effective running back when we had Tannehill, we may have been the ones in the AFC Championship 2 years ago. But instead of addressing the team’s shortcomings, everyone ran Tannehill out of town like HE was the problem.

Now the same thing is starting again with Tagovailoa

BOTH the OL and Tannehill were the problem. Tannehill can't overcome adversity, and you need a QB that can or the chances you win a SB are too low. Obviously, the OL in Miami has been atrocious, worse than the QB. But it's not like Tannehill is the type of QB you want on a team either. He's proving that this year too, playing slightly below average on a good team. Come playoff time you'll see the problem. Some games you'll need the QB to carry the team and Tannehill most likely won't be able to do that.

Don't forget the SB is the goal, not playoffs. I don't see the Titans winning the SB with Tannehill at QB, even with Henry and star WRs.
