This was a difficult game to stay focused on since it started out as a competitive defensive battle, but Miami did pull through comfortably and it's the 3rd or 4th week in a row where it really felt like that game was over halfway through the 3rd quarter.

    Just some random thoughts:

    - Tua seemed a little off today- his passes were still highly catchable but that pinpoint accuracy wasn't there as much as it had been. He missed Gisecki and Waddle several times where if his normal placement was there, a big play was to follow.

    - Our young rookies on defense continue to grow and look impressive- Phillips picked up two more sacks today and almost had two on top of that. X also had another pick and almost a 2nd as well.

    - The Giants QB was painful to watch at times so I know some of you will say that we beat a lousy team. But I'll take a lousy win for 5-in-a-row any day of the week.

We are entering our bye week and that's sort of frustrating since we face the Jets coming out of it....really wish it was the Pats or Titans instead. But we're certainly on a roll and with being .500 a realistic expectation, it's almost a brand new season with 4 games remaining.

Man the offense scares me. A wins a win and I give them credit but we gotta get more consistency and running plays if we even dare if a playoff birth.

we beat who we should have beaten!!

I thought he was very accurate. WRs were dropping balls that went through both hands, or hit their helmet face-on lol.

They need to be prepared for what the Giants did to take away the 1st read. It slowed down the offense tremendously. You can expect to see more of it.

    My thoughts:
AVG is back seems like he found his form.

Don‘t like Waddle as a returner, he’s to indecisive for my taste and to important for the offense.

Our 3rd round TE made his first catch (forgot his name).

You just need to give our D a lead when our corners are healthy. Love! how Holland and Phillips are developing!

Our O-line is becoming serviceable and #73 didn’t have a penalty.

Lindsey out hurt us imo., which shows where we lack in the roster department.

The best at last even though the Giants D gave Tua a hard time, he delivered again! Really starting to think he might be the answer at QB, just need to protect him and good things happen + he shrugged off a big hit today again. Really hope that injury stuff is behind him.

Oh and we’re the 2nd team to have a 5?! game winning streak after a 1-7 start, I think it’s time to make a little more history for this proud franchise!

Absolutely. We are the league's 2nd worst running team by Y/C (you want to use Y/C instead of total yards because teams run out the clock adding to rushing totals for winning teams). So I'm all for taking a RB high, at worst round 2.

Obviously OL pass protection needs improvement, but I'm starting to think the 3rd missing piece is another WR like Waddle. If we have to play to Tua's strengths having 2 very good slot receivers might be better than Waddle + a typical #1 receiver. So I'm actually starting to lean towards accepting even WR with our top pick if it gives Tua a 2nd option as good as Waddle. But yes RB is a priority.

I don't know why, but it blew my mind that our receivers have the most drops in the league. How in the world is Tua completing 70% of his passes to guys with so many thumbs? That seems almost counter-intuitive to think about. Coming to his receivers' defense, Tua is like:

Fuller was supposed to be that guy. He could get healthy and be that for the end of the season push. Not holding my breath though. I am excited to see if Bowden can be that next year.

So, Logan Ryan is throwing shade at Tua. Funny thing is, he says he can also throw 2-yard passes to the left but somehow, he can't defend them. Needs to buy some Ben-Gay on his way back home.

I wanna say something that I have thought for awhile. I wish we would be willing to invest a little more on Mack Hollins. I think he brings more value than what we are getting out of him.

I do see him as a guy who has a future on the team, and I would love to give him a multi-year extension. I would like to see him steal Albert Wilson's snaps because I do not nee Wilson as part of our long term future.

A win is a win. I just keep looking back and saying what if we had beat Atl and/or Jax. We’d be 7-6 or 8-5 and dead center in the playoff race.

There's going to be a lot of What If...? at the end of this season. What if we didn't have the injuries? Especially if our OL wasn't so cruddy against BuffaLOL that it almost got Tua killed. What if there was no trade distraction? What if we hadn't traded Flowers or cut Van Noy? There's a lot that went wrong, but there's also a lot that I'm looking forward to, this season and beyond.

It's been one for the books.

I was worried about them winning this game. But they won. Now how do they improve the offensive line during the bye? Flip a couple of guys around? Something should be done but will Flores do it?

    From cbssports.com:
    Miami 20-9 over N.Y. Giants

    Giants - C
If the Giants were hoping to get an offensive spark from the firing of Jason Garrett, that definitely didn't happen. With Daniel Jones out due to a neck injury, Mike Glennon led the hapless Giants offense to exactly zero touchdowns, meaning New York has scored just two TDs in their past three games. With the offense sputtering, the Giants' defense actually played pretty well, but struggled in the red zone as the Dolphins came away with a TD on both trips inside of New York's 20.

    Dolphins - B+
A big reason the Dolphins have won five in a row is because no one can score on their defense and a big reason no one can score is because of Jaelan Phillips. The rookie linebacker is doing his best to enter the Defensive Rookie of the Year conversation and he definitely feels like a candidate after a game where he recorded two of Miami's three sacks. The Dolphins actually got a huge game from rookies on both sides of the ball. Besides Phillips, Miami saw Jaylen Waddle have another huge day, catching nine passes for 90 yards. The return of DeVante Parker also gave a spark to the Dolphins' offense, as he caught five passes for 62 yards. At quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa wasn't flashy, but he did continue to play highly efficient football: The second-year QB completed 73.2% of his passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Tua iced the win with a huge scoring throw to Isaiah Ford on third down in the fourth quarter.

Both were winnable. Hell we should or could have won 3 of those seven games and be sitting with 9 wins top of our division but we stumbled out the gate mightily after week one and again I feel we will be 1 game to short of the playoff birth like that last 10 years it seems.

We knew the Giants Defence was good. We also knew our Defence had been playing great.

The offence did enough to beat a really good defence. They thoroughly embarrassed whatever the Giants Defence trotted out there. 2 of the Giants FGs came on a short field and the third benefitted from a fourth down conversion.

Tua played great. No need for an addendum he's a solid QB.

It was nice to see DVP making plays again. 3rd down toe drag helped seal the game.

Is Jason Sanders still good? I know 50 yard FGs aren't automatic for anyone but he came a few feet from missing two key second half FGs. You could see anything but elation from Sanders when that last kick made it through.

Sanders seemed pretty much automatic from that distance in his first few years, so I don't know if it's a confidence thing, a slight tweak/injury or if he's just washed up that quickly. Whatever the reason, it's very frustrating because he has used to have a massive leg and I expected him to break the NFL record at some point.

Now I dread any field goal- it feels like a tossup these days. They haven't cut him though so I'm thinking maybe he's hurt.

Especially considering Fuller dropped the game winning TD because he shattered his finger, effectively killing his season to this point and beyond.

I really want to see Parker, Waddle, Fuller on the field at this same time.

No more difficult than the Jags debacle. No way we should have lost that game. Especially because I caught the final drive on Gametracker on my cell while at church. To think, I almost stayed home to watch it.
