    • Agent Drew Rosenhaus said by phone that though ''the Dolphins would be a dream, one of the favorite scenarios'' for Arizona receiver Anquan Boldin, who faces Miami Sunday and has requested a trade, Rosenhaus doesn't have permission to shop Boldin and ''I don't know if the Dolphins have interest.'' The Cardinals insist they will not trade Boldin, who's signed through 2010 and wants more money.

    • One Dolphins official bemoaned the fact that speedy Ted Ginn Jr. doesn't show more elusiveness. Though Ginn says he wants to handle all returns, Tony Sparano indicated he wants to see more of Davone Bess on punts because he can ''make a guy miss.'' . . .

I would expect if/when Boldin's agent is given permission to shop around Miami will be contacted. I don't know how interested we would be though. I do know this. IMO if we were to get him our FO will not break the bank to get him. I have been pretty happy with the trades we have made thus far.

I would like to see Ginn continue to return KO's. I think this is where he is most comfortable and let Bess return Punts. 1 big KO return by Ginn might give him confidence and energy to play WR more agressive.

Look at him on punt returns- does he look quick out of the gate and make guys miss? Usually, no. Bess is quicker- why we're not having Ginn return kickoffs, where he has more time to build up his speed, and Bess return punts is beyond me. Actually, Ginn should really be performing both duties, shouldn't he? I'd rather see Hagan in there at WR anyway.

Ginn should be returning all kicks. It seems like Sparano is protecting him like he is a true #1 WR. Not having him return all kicks is just a waste.

whats a waste is having Ginn not make plays at all. On Special Teams or in the real games. Let him play wherever it's not like he's TO or Randy Moss..

The fact that he (ginn) let 2 punts bounce in front of him last sunday...imho...shows that his head and heart isn't where they should be and/or 100% committed to his chosen craft....not willing to go all-out to succeed (at least in the punt return) because he's afraid to fail and show his lack of commitment at this point in his short career. He seems to be more worried about getting injured on punt receptions than going over the middle on a pass route.....JMHO:couch:

Anquan Boldin sent me a text message asking me to punch myself in the face for an hour straight. He said if I do it, then he will become a Dolphin.

I think I need stitches. But I cant wait to see which sideline Boldin is on today.

Hagan ?? Look, Ginn might not be Anquan Boldin, but Hagan isn't even a Ginn....

Bess is quick and shifty while Ginn is fast. There is a difference.

Ginn is fast but not overly quick, bottom line. He seems to do well when he glides into a seam and is gone. I don't see a lot of juking with him.

I think Ginn's grandmammy should handle punts. We did draft his whole family so it's about time they start to contribute.

Seriously though I agree Ginn should handle all kicks, at least get something outta him.

Maybe Sparano is just experimenting to see what works or maybe just letting Ginn focus more on his receiving. Hagan and Ginn aren't this groups hand picked choices but are just the hand they were dealt and they are trying to make the most of it until they can A. either make it work, or B. Bring in their own choices.

Is anyone else tired of Drew using the Dolphins to get his players (who seem to play for everyone else) to get better contracts ? They always seem to want to play for us, but how many of them ever sign with us when they can ?

Bess is better then Ginn at making moves in small spaces which is excellent when returning punts because there are usually guys right on top of you when you catch the ball....read again, he is BETTER at that than Ginn.....Ginn is better at hitting a crease and zooming through it, which is the best way to return a kick-off for a score because you usually have everyone in front of you and plenty of room to get up to cruising speed..

It's a completely different skill and each one does his better then the other...So, IMO, use both to your advantage and let one return punts and the other return kicks...

It's true. He doesnt juke guys out of their shoes but he is amazing and just doing a little side step and making the first guy miss.

His problem seems to actually be fielding the punts.

Excactly. But, ergo the mystery- why is Ginn returning punts and Bess returning kickoffs?

How many times do you need to see ginn get tripped up by his shoelaces on punt returns before we realise that bess's quickness will help us get more yardage.

Even though ive seen ginn take 4 returns to the house, i have been overall dissapointed with his ability back there for over a year now.

Anybody have a theory as to why Ginn is returning punts when he seems cleary better suited to returning kickoffs?

This regime is too smart to make such an expensive trade for bolding, and we are 1-2 years away from being close enough to need that 1 or 2 special players to put us "over the top". By that time Boldin will likely not be in that category anyway.

No Boldin for this team, not happening.

hey, perhaps we'll see something happen after Sunday, trade-wise. I wouldn't want to trade him to a team im playing week 2 unless I had a gun to my head. we'll see. its a very long shot, but we'll see. hey, we parted with chambers in this manner after-all

Bess reminds me of Wes Welker as a punt returner even more than as a receiver. He's quick and nifty, and he'll make a few guys miss. Issue there is......can he hit the home run? IMO, absolutely not. With Ted Ginn, you're going to get your punt returns that go nowhere, because he'll gamble on an angle to try and make something out of nothing. However, every time he touches the football there's an opportunity for 6 points. Is our offense good enough to sacrifice that special teams opportunity? Is our team good enough? Hell no.
