Cause professional scouts bought into the Tua hype. Course, that's not to say I support Tannehole. He's as robotic as always he just go put on a team that actually has an OL, and a top-tier rushing game, so... he's able to manage a game well enough. But that can be said for just about any average QB. Franchise QBs on the other hand have the ability to carry a team to some W's even when others aren't performing up to standard.
You guys who thought Miami were going to walk over Tennessee, or that Miami are playoff calibre, or that Tennessee are awful, were or are delusional. Try to remember that we lost seven straight games this season. That's not nothing. Tennessee were potential itle contenders last year and doing well early on. Just the odds of Miami continuing their run should have given you pause for thought. And then there was the weather, just to top it off. This game was never going to be easy. Tua didn't play well today. The weather clearly had an impact on all aspects though. The run defense couldn't stop the Titans. The kicking and punting were off. Some of those play calls? Atrocious. The refs even pitched in. This was a team loss.
Tua has played better in year 2 and i like him. I like his character his resilience and his fight, but not gonna lie...if we had watson i think we are in the playoffs. Tough decision. The money he will cost bs tua limits what else we can do...but he changes the games. Of course given legal and league enforcement issues
I went to my first game, as a kid in 1978. I've been to several playoff games and had season tickets for a number of years. So to question my my fandom is ridiculous
That’s my biggest issue with this team EVERY year. All the big games we lose in blowout fashion. Flores has had his doors blown off in so many of these situations. Absolutely sick if it. Don’t mind losing to good teams if we prove we can play with and we never prove we can.
You can attack my typos or defend your awful take. I see you took the high road. One half of bad football lol. Silly homer.
Tua not good enough atm but this coaching staff sucks ive said it all year even when we were winning. We always Have to use gadget plays to do anything.
Our offense has 2 turnovers; and only 182 passing and 60 rushing yards in what is effectively a must win game. Our defense held them to 110 passing and gave up 160 on the ground. Total yardage is pretty balanced. This isn't a team loss; this is yet another loss in the long history of losses in the last 5+ years where our offense has been non existant. Blame the OL, blame the QB, blame the WR's, blame the coaches; it doesn't really matter who you blame. The fact of the matter with this team consistently is the lack of offense. Even in our 7 game winning streak; the offense has been underwhelming more often than not. This team does not have an offense that can win and dominate games, even against inferior opponents. Our problem is offense. YArds now lopsided as the Titans score again on a long run. The fact of the matter here though is the Titans offense did what it had to do gameplan wise, and on the field. Our's didn't. AGAIN. It's always the theme with this team no matter who the coach, OC, or QB have been. Until we have an NFL offense; we're going nowhere.
Great now I'm stuck at work wearing a Tua jersey for the rest of the day because i didn't bring a back up shirt
Exactly; they reek of desparation. You resort to that if your regular offense isn't working. Can't run (although we ran well today; but abandoned it as usual) and our WR's struggle to get open because the majority of them wouldn't even be starters on most nFL teams outside of Waddle and Gesicki. So you go to trick plays to confuse the D and hope to catch a break. That's not a strategy for success on offense, but it's all we can do witht he lack of talent we have thanks to Grier.
I don't know how we did it but we managed to lose by more points then we did last year against the bills.
DAMN! This is not how a playoff team plays, even in a loss. Loss is mostly on Tua. Before today Tua was doing fine for a year 2 QB with a 94 rating. This crap of a performance has him now at 89.9 for the year, which is 1 passer rating point below league average. That's BAD. Well he has one more game to rectify this, but you can't have a QB that plays this bad in such an important game. Otherwise, there was some bad play calling today and what's with that non-DPI call? That one bad call was huge. Well whatever, it happens. On to the next game. We still need to finish strong against NE. I want to see back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2003.
When you don't score points or move the ball on offense your defense can still be a great unit and you can still get blown out. You can't rely on one effective unit and one that can't get out of its own way. Turning the ball over on offense also leads to those lopsided scores. Fact of the matter IMO is this team is going nowhere until we fix our offense, in particular our OL and skilled positions.
We need to overhaul the oline, everyone other than Hunt and maybe Deiter is terrible. We need a new oline coach, a franchise RB, and still looking for our franchise QB.
They were going for Watson even if they made the playoffs. Only way it doesn't happen is if the Eagles back up the draft pick truck.
i wouldn’t put it mostly on Tua. I’d put it evenly on him, our garbage WR group, and our inept Co-OCs. Wind and freezing rain and these idiots go with a pass happy game plan? That’s just ****ing stupid. I could come up with a better game plan that those 2 jacklegs
Burrow might end up beating Rodgers for the top passer rating this year. He's now at 108.3 for the year compared to Rodgers' 110.8. The guy is elite. I have a friend in Cinci who I have a bet with: who wins the championship first, Reds or Dolphins (he's more an MLB fan than NFL). Glad I didn't put Bengals in there because they might beat both of those teams.
But he's right. Tua will never start in a playoff game for this team. Noodle Arm and terrible decision making. He's not a leader and he has no instincts.
